I'm at my uncle's house and we're watching Jeopardy. One of the Jeopardy round categories in "Ex members of the Band". I was wondering if maybe, possibly...sure enough the $1,000 clue was (my paraphrasing ):
In 2001, Don Felder was fired from this band. He sued and in 2007, they settled out of court.

I should've paid more attention to the clue to get the wording right, but all I saw was "Don Felder" and my brain went to mush. The Eagles on Jeopardy? :stunned:

That was the $1000 clue? Super-easy! ;)

Rather unfortunate way to make Jeopardy, though!

I looked on Google for something to prove what I saw, but I couldn't find anything! Glad that someone tweeted it! :)

Yup, $1,000 clue. Where's my money for getting it right? :hilarious:
I agree, not the best way to be mentioned, but still cool!

I told my mom about this, this morning. I was thinking that she might get a kick out of it because she is a casual fan of the Eagles. She just looked at me funny and she "Well, what's the big deal?".
:brickwall: :brickwall: :eyebrow: :-x
One of my favorite bands was mentioned on national tv! That's the big deal!

Yeah - it's kinda cool anytime you hear the band mentioned on TV. I doubt that the name Don Felder is that recognizable among the general public, so the clue may not been quite as easy for some as it is for us hardcores.

I agree. I think that "The Long Run" part would've been more of a giveaway for most people.

And if that weren't enough, the term "aerie" refers to an bird's nest.

I didn't know that! I couldn't figure out what they meant by that.

Well I do know what an aerie is, but I was focusing on Felder's name in the clue. However, maybe it is easier than I first thought when you consider that a lot of Jeopardy contestants are probably better than average when it comes to these kinds of trivia and facts.

The 3 contestants jumped on that category pretty quickly. I remember the champion getting this question right. Other questions were about Pete Best and Brian Jones and a guy from REM. I can't remember the other clue.

It's spelt 'eyrie' in British/Australian English. I always thought it was the nest of a bird of prey like an eagle.
