I just finished watching that 2013 documentary on CNN. I have a few questions about well known pictures -

- what photo session is it from where it shows the five of them (Don H, Glenn, Schmitty, Don F, Joe) in baseball unis that look similar to the Detroit Tigers logo
- how come there's so much footage of the 1977 Largo MD concert in the film compared to other stuff shown in the film?
- what year is the picture from that shows from left to right Bernie, Randy, Don and Glenn. Both Bernie and Glenn have there arms crossed. In that picture none of them have facial hair except for Bernie.
- is some of the other footage in the film they show from around the same time as the largo concert (with them playing baseball and of them on airplanes?)

This one? https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-t3Yu3G_xDsg/VqEoO3hLQpI/AAAAAAACgVE/Ji8Z-W_GtJo/s288/1972.jpg

The baseball photos are from a 1978 grudge match game against the staff of Rolling Stone magazine.

The 1977 Largo concert was the only professionally filmed concert footage of the classic-era group, as far as I know. There are a few bootlegs from that era.

its not that particular picture but yeah I think its from the same session since they're wearing the same clothes. The one I'm talking about is one that shoes Glenn with a more punk look on his face.

Is this one it? I believe that these are some outtakes from the photo shoot for the On The Border album.

You're welcome. Soda has several photos from this shoot on EOC. https://www.eaglesonlinecentral.com/photos/borderera.htm

Randy does look great there, but it's hard for me to turn my attention away from the guy with the patchwork jeans, especially given where his right hand is.

I was so focused on you-know-who that it took me awhile to notice :) I wonder what kind of direction Henry Diltz was giving them?

I'd like to give out an assignment. I want a history of the patched jeans. If you can put the photos in chronological order, all the better. Let's see his mother's handiwork.

I guess it's nice to try to bring some levity to this thread, but speaking for myself, the last place my mind is right now is in the gutter. Still  .

Sorry, Dreamer. Recently, I saw something about him sending his jeans home to his mother to be patched and I thought I'd like to see if the progression of patches could be seen over time.

UtW, I like the idea, but I don't have time since I'm at work to look in to this patched jeans assignment!

Sounds like a cool idea, I remember hearing each patch represented a past relationship not sure if thats apocryphal. But love these photos I think they were promotional for On the Border but thought of printing one of them and have them as a poster because I love the original four and that whole country rock vibe :)

No - I'm sorry UTW. I should have made myself clearer. I think your idea is very cute, but like Brooke, I don't really have time to work on it. But, please, those of you who can ... go for it!

Here's something that may help with this, UTW. The first pair of patchwork jeans that I can remember seeing are the brown jeans that Glenn's wearing in the old clips of he and Don performing with Linda Ronstadt. I know there are some screenshots of them somewhere on the board, but I couldn't find any by doing a quick search. But, I can tell you, I believe those brown jeans are the ones on display in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame exhibit as is his sparkly silver belt.

Oh neat - the "come hither" belt! Have you been there, Dreamer? If so, do you recall what other Eagles mementos are there?

Yep NMB - I did visit the R&R HOF, but it was over 10 years ago. I'd love to revisit and would encourage anyone that is going near the Cleveland area to add that to your bucket list. Here is a thread where I recollect some of it, but, unfortunately, I forgot to post on the board when my memory was the freshest ...

Here's the earliest photo I've seen with Glenn wearing patched jeans. This during the Longbranch Pennywhistle days.

Thanks OM, but I didn't find it. Soda has it on the GFO photo gallery. The patched jeans are cool, but JD's floral vest isn't!

another picture is this: I think it was used as a promo for one of there singles off of the long run and they all have sort of a street punk look on there face. It's also one of the only photos during the 72-80 period where Frey has short hair. Anyone know the details of the picture (the when and where)?

This is an example of a photo used to promote the singles from the Long Run album so it is obviously from 1979 & presumably was taken in Los Angeles.
