Well a little emotionally I have sent the last thread to the archives as we have reached the customary 200 pages. While obviously there will be no new material of Glenn :heart: anymore we will of course continue to post pictures of our founding Eagle here.

I wanted to make this change yesterday as it was the 10 year anniversary of the first time I saw Glenn :heart: and the Band play live, but my internet was down, so a little later than I had hoped......

Sometimes, when I'm driving and one of his songs starts playing, I just start singing along automatically with a smile on my face and forget that he's gone. Of course I always remember and then the smile fades. I know one of these days I'll be able to enjoy it fully again... who knows when, though.

To stay on topic - I just bought a poster of this to hang on my wall. It says "Glenn Frey: Singer. Songwriter. Legend."

That's for sure, GA. He had so much more living to do. So, this forum is our own small way of maintaining a living memorial to Glenn and all the joy he brought to us.

We miss you every day, Glenn, but you are not forgotten.

My happiest memories are of the solo Australasian tour. How lucky I was that happened.

Love those, AG! And I agree, buffyfan, since I grew up in Texas....Cowboy Hat!
I only recall a couple others with him wearing one--- the profile shot with a cigarette, and clowning with a very large one. Anyone know of any others? I don't even recall any Desperado shots with one.

Loving the hair photos. I remember the first time I saw this one was when I bought my LROOE program at the Hard Rock Park show. I literally gasp when I first saw it. Soda and I just kept staring at it until some guys that were standing by us starting jokingly making fun of us. We didn't let that stop us though! :thumbsup:

I was looking at photos yesterday & that one hit me hard (it is in Las Vegas). Part of me wants to make it an avatar out of - I don't know - reccogniton of what he went through. But the other photo is probably better as a portrait.

I feel the same way, shun. I think it's only natural, but we fans sure did take Glenn's RA for granted. It used to make me sad when I saw these, but multiply by hundreds of times now.

When I was at Glenn & Joe's concert in Aspen several years ago (with a few other Borderers) Otis came out & was playing around on the front of the stage. We were right up front so we were quite close to him. He was adorable. He seemed oblivious to the audience, but I suppose as he has been on stage with his dad since he was little, he was used to it.

NMB, I haven't seen most of them before, but the photo with Don Felder is definitely a different vintage than the others. The photo of them sitting on stools is from Pop Gala which is from Voorburg, Netherlands 1973. There is video of this concert. It looks to me that the other pics are likely from the same tour.

OT: I wish we had more information about the Eagles' European tours, they don't seem to be very well documented - there are even gaps in their American touring information, which is rare (in my experience) for a band of the Eagles' stature.

That was funny. I was wondering why they kept interviewing these old guys rather than the younger fans. It was only when they were shown using a laptop that I realised that the interviews were done recently and these old men actually were young men in 1973. I think one of them was a photographer and they highlighted part of the footage to show a young man with a camera.

Delbert did a cover of Come Together for the Beatles tribute album that came out right around the same time as Common Thread. So that's how I know him.

Country music was doing a lot of tribute albums for different people between '93 and '95.

I'm not really a fan of today's country. I just don't like it. They all sound the same, but I know of Band Perry since they are from MS.

I like Lady Antebellum, they're wonderful songwriters. It's rare that a current group, of any genre, has such a fine melodic sense, IMO.

Randy has unusually large ears. We never knew back in the day because his hair covered them, but of course since he switched to the samurai hairstyle, his secret is out.

Not to go too far OT, but I feel I must defend Randy's ears a little bit. People's ears (and noses) generally get bigger as they age. It's just another sign of getting older. I assume Randy's ears were perfectly sized when he was young.:-)

Looking at the pics I too think it's an illusion the camera is doing depending on how it looks. As I mentioned in the actor lookalike thread that one of my favorite actors Colin O'Donoghue has the same type of pointy ears and I've noticed they'll change depending on how he's standing facing the camera and even while watching his scenes on "Once Upon a Time" or his movies. Glenn's did the same watching interviews and his music vids/scenes from the shows/movies he was in. There's an actor on "Designated Survivor" Adan Canto who has the same ears too and I keep noticing it.

Fp, Cindy reminds me of a girl who has been a friend of mine since high school. My friend is gorgeous, like Cindy, and has that same toothy smile (and believe me, I mean that in the most flattering way.) But the biggest thing they share is that they both seem to be carrying within them a bright, shining joy- an inner light- that, regrettably, cannot be found on everyone's countenance. In my experience, these people are rare and special. I know Cindy has felt a great sadness from our dear Glenn's death; but, I'm so grateful that she can still be so radiant after all we know she's been through.

You were so lucky to share that experience with Cindy, Fp. And that memory is something you'll always have.
