I'm not sure if anyone here keeps up with current actors or films like I do but Anton Yelchin died in a freak accident this morning at his own house. He was only 27 too and so young. I knew him from the recent "Star Trek" films where he played the Chekov character. The 3rd movie is supposed to come out this fall. I've also seen him in a lot of other films and TV shows and he was in the process of filming a TV miniseries adaptation of Stephen King's "Mr. Mercedes". I feel so bad for his family and friends. This year has just been horrible with celebrity deaths and tragedies in general.

I saw that on Facebook. How sad. He was so young and had his life ahead of him. I remembered him from the remake of 80s horror movie called Fright Night.

Yes, I saw that, too. It's a terrible thing. :-(

It's just so sad. From the films and shows I saw him in he was very talented as a actor and I know he made so many critics lists of younger actors to watch out for. I always felt he was going to end up like a lot of actors and work his way up to the Oscar one day. It's sad too seeing all the actors and directors he worked with and knew him and saying how kind he was. Gone way too soon. :(

I just watched Fright Night a couple days ago. He was so fresh-faced and earnest in his roles - beautiful eyes - so young! This breaks my heart.

I feel for his parents. He was their only child. I know its going to be much worse knowing you lost your only child.

this is so sad and unfair, RIP Anton
the new Star Trek movie comes out in July and it's going to be bitter sweet to watch him in it knowing we'll never see him as Chekov again:cry:
Very sad news! Along with the reboot of STAR TREK, I enjoyed him as Tom Hiddleston's devoted assistant, Ian, in the film, ONLY LOVERS LEFT ALIVE. RIP, young Anton. You left us way too soon. :(

That poor kid. Now I remember him from "Only Lovers Left Alive" - thanks for mentioning that, NOLA.

I'm not familiar with him, but may he RIP. So young. (I am a Trekkie, but I'm not too interested in the new movies.)
