Just saw on my local news station's Twitter that astronaut John Glenn passed away today at 95. Word came out just yesterday that he had been hospitalized at Ohio State University's James Cancer Hospital last week. I was always amazed by all he accomplished especially being the first American to orbit the Earth and getting to watch him go back into space as the oldest astronaut when I was in middle school. I'm so glad he was able to actually see both OSU name a building after him and his wife and our airport in Columbus be renamed after him as John Glenn International Airport. He will be missed dearly especially here in Columbus and all of Ohio.

I don't remember when he made his flight...but was watching the news tonight...and saw footage of it..and him talking about it...the bravery it took was amazing...he then dedicated his life to our country as a senator...true American hero I'd say...

I agree, a true American hero...decorated WW2 veteran, astronaut, public servant...
