I got a cd recently where Glenn  talks about his Soul Searchin album. He mentions that the song 'I Did it for your Love' was used as the theme for a movie called 'An American Murder'. He describes seeing the movie and it sounds very interesting. I was wondering if anyone ever came across that movie- either seen it or got it on video/DVD?

I hate horror movies, so I've never seen it - but - now I might have to check it out!

Was Glenn an actor in it? Sorry for my ignorance, I've never heard of it.

He wrote the theme music for it.

I have never been clear as to whether the movie people asked to use it, or if it was written specifically for the movie. I did read how strange Glenn thought it, that they would want a love song for a murder movie. Anybody know?

I'm sure there's an interview out there that expands upon that, FF, but I'm not sure where it is! GA, is there more info on that interview CD?

The song appeared on Soul Searchin' & was used in the movie which was released the following year. The liner notes for Soul Searchin' state the following:

This song is the end title theme for the film An American Murder. A straight ahead love song for a murder mystery seemed pretty twisted to me. After all, what is murder but love gone wrong.

The impression I get is that they asked to use the song.

The music for the film was by Hawk Wolinski, a friend and collaborator of Glenn's at the time. He played on and co-produced the track.

Way OT: What a coincidence. A few days ago, I saw the 1973 film "Electra Glide in Blue" directed by James Guercio, manager and producer of the band Chicago. David "Hawk" Wolinski has a small but pivotal role in the film, as do members of Chicago. Hawk plays a seemingly innocent hippie entrepreneur who sells psychedelic posters to head shops and at rock festivals.

FP - How are you feeling ?
Glenn was also in Jerry Mc Guire. I do not like To Cruise but loved that movie.

Of course, you're correct.

As to how I'm feeling I'm fine, thanks, but next month I start the CT scanning programme & I will also have a biopsy to determine whether I may have another liver disease.
