Isn't Joe going to be playing at the Vegas House of Blues that night? :headscratch:

I just saw Variety's article about it too and an official announcement is supposed to be made tomorrow. Wouldn't surprise me if more dates are coming too for other baseball stadiums.

If they do Fenway, I'm there in a heartbeat.

Y'all beat me to it !! The notification came up on my FB Page this morning. Well, we were all right that this is only the beginning. Don's comment about the West/East maybe being their last concerts was about as iron clad as they were done due to Glenn's passing. Based on comments I read from the FB post, most people can't wait for them to come to their town.
Dawn - thanks for the article ! I had read it long ago and was interesting to read again. I'll bet Irving has not changed much. Maybe refined his skills some.

SIDE NOTE: The weather here in NY/NJ has been hot and humid as hell for the last 1 1/2 weeks. The temps have been in the mid to high 90's with a heat index over 100 degrees. Who ever goes to the East this coming weekend needs to take care and dress for the heat. Also, our local NY newscasts have begun making announcements about massive security checks and to get to the ball park early. NY Police take security VERY SERIOUSLY and are, I feel, the best in the business. You can go to the park and feel very safe. They do not let anything by them. That also goes for NY/NJ Port Authority Police and NJ Transit Police. For those who will go by train/subway(#7 to Citi Field) be more concerned about delays than any kind of security problems. I take a train to work every day and feel safe.

It looks like Azoff has started a new "Classic" brand. Possibly Steely Dan were part of the plan before Walter Becker missed Classic West. This is another 50,000 seater which is quite a change from the HotE arena tours. It's one way of maintaining income while reducing the strain of touring. This stadium sounds pretty good with its umbrella canopy.

So like I suspected my family and I talked about it over my Mom's birthday lunch today as once I saw the news I had to tell them. She's very excited and hopes they do come to Ohio if there is a new tour coming like I do, but my brother also talked her/us into considering Pittsburgh incase they play at the Pirates stadium (although he'd prefer to go back to Wrigley in Chicago and take us along as he's a Cubs fan LOL). My Dad's still surprised about all this but he'd too would go. None of us were able to see the Eagles originally (though we planned to in the early 2000s but that never worked out) but all of us are ok with going if they do come closer especially after seeing the vids of West. Now just have to wait and see if they are going to play close to us.

They go to LA and now Seattle for the West. Can't get any luck for SF at AT&T Park, which seats 42k people. I think the Doobie Brothers, Journey, Santana, Tower of Power, and the Steve Miller Band did something similar last year at AT&T where it was like a fest.

Yeah - in fact, as of today, they're still selling tickets for it. I'm assuming the HOB show is going to be called off, but they better get their act together!

Talk about unprofessional!

If I was looking forward to that HOB show, and it got called off because of a "Eagles" show (that I would despise), I'd be one mad person. Hopefully they'll make it right by those ticket holders.

I expected Joe's show to be cancelled but it hasn't, so now we're faced with the prospect of the Eagles playing a show without Joe.

If Steely Dan can play without Walter Becker, Eagles can play without Joe.

The question is, who will replace him?

Bernie Leadon, Don Felder, Chris Holt, Will Henley or maybe they'll just stick with what they've got, which I'd say is already guitar heavy.

Hmmm, I don't know about that. Joe is vital for kicking up an Eagles show a notch, from what I've watched and read from concert-goers. Walter Becker on the other hand, has been kind of a mess on stage lately.

I can't imagine the Eagles playing without Joe. Not only would Henley be the only original member, he also would be the only guy from the HC line-up. I don't mean to diss the others, but that's pushing it closer toward tribute band territory. :pace:

I'm all for bringing back Bernie and Don F, the latter if it's ok with Deacon (just to be clear, this is wishful thinking, not "stewing").

In theory Henley is the only original member anyway!!

Joe just did a new interview with Billboard talking about his new Vets Aid show but also spoke about the Classic shows and did confirm he's still doing this and the Vegas shows, and the article still said the Vegas shows are 3 days but didn't say which dates so maybe they're changing that show's date.

Joe probably going to do his Vegas show early in the day and hop on the plane to Seattle. They are both on Pacific time. It would be cutting close. The Eagles are probably not coming on until 8:00pm or 8:30pm.

The Vegas show is due to start at 7.30pm so unless he has a time machine, that doesn't work. (And now I'm thinking of Harry Potter and the time-turner that allowed Hermione to be in several classes at once.)

A postponement of the Vegas show seems pretty likely at this point - with a cancellation you have to give the money back, but with a postponement, you can keep it - or at least some of it (policies differ).

I would concur that Joe's solo dates would be postponed - Eagles sans Joe I suspect would seriously dent not only ticket sales, but also their actual playing.

It's unethical that they're still selling tickets for the Vegas show, though, with the date as Sept. 30. People can't always make a new date, so it's very possible they're buying tickets to a show they won't be able to go to. The venue knows it won't occur on that date.

In fact, selling tickets for a show that they know will not be happening on the date they are advertising sounds more than unethical... it sounds fraudulent.

Business Ethics we have all learned first hand is an oxymoron. Don't get me wrong, artists need to eat and as TBS says, "feed the fire," but the best you can say about the Vegas situation is their hedging their bets. And, the worse you can say, well you said it all.

Not to mention the fact that you can also stand to lose if you have booked flights and /or hotel accomodation and then the show is cancelled.

Looks like Joe's Las Vegas shows have been canceled or postponed. Two people posted this under the Joe in the news/press thread.

Ticketmaster has them listed from as low as $56 to as high as $491. There's one ticket that's like $925.

Thank you, Dawn! My mom and I going to this concert together. We live in Idaho so it will be a nice trip for us. We have 12th row tickets on the floor and we can't wait. I was born in 1990 and the HFO album came out a few years later, and I can recall my parents driving me to sports games with the Eagles HFO cd playing in the background. The Eagles are my favorite band and the Doobie Brothers should be good, too!

I haven't read through this thread yet so I apologize if I am interrupting any conversations. But I am seeing the Eagles with my mom at the Classic Northwest in Seattle in two weeks and I can't wait! We live out of state so we are making a weekend out of it and I am so excited to share this experience with her. The Eagles are the one band whose soundtracks have played throughout my 26 years. They are my favorite band, and when I saw them two years ago, they were incredible. Although Glenn can never be replaced, I am really looking forward to the concert! I never thought I would get to say again, "I'm going to see The Eagles!" :)

Have a good time, eagles557! (and anyone else who may be attending)

I'm wondering if they will change anything up, maybe add some solo songs to the setlist? And I hope Vince gets the chance to show off his guitar skills more this time.
