You'll recall this was where the Eagles shot their cowboy-outlaws Desperado photos and video/film:

What a loss of a part of Eagles history. Such a shame. I didn't realize the National Park Service had taken it over and that it was open to the public. It would have been a cool place to visit.

So very sad to see this.
Paradise, CA has been so heavily damaged by these fires. Our hearts go out to the people suffering losses there.

I am so sad to hear this. But so thankful that Soda, Dreamer & I had the chance in May 2016 to explore the old western town. It was so much fun & interesting!! A great day! And I love the photos I took.
My thoughts & prayers are with the families affected by these devastating fires. The people of California have been thru so much these last few days.

Does Timothy Schmit still live in Calabasas? I think the fire has reached there. Terrible what’s happening. Five people have died.

As far as I know, he does, but that information is from what I've read on this board, for the most part.
Prayers for everyone involved. It is terrible. I wish Timothy would post his status on his Facebook page or tweet something to let us all know he and his family are ok.

Heartbreaking for sure, prayers to all affected. Very cool that you got to visit there, NMB, Soda, Dreamer and Houston Baby. What a great photo op.

Yep - this is truly so sad. I actually visited twice ... As HB said, I went once with her and Soda, and then Brooke and I visited again in 2017. It was really fun finding the old buildings that were in the Desperado photo shoot. Maybe we can get some pictures posted in this thread eventually. My heart goes out to all of the Californians affected by these fires.

I am so sad to hear this. That fire looked massive on tv. HB as you said, thoughts and prayers are with the families affected by the fires. The poor people of California have been through a lot this past week.
Dreamer, it is so cool that you, Soda and the others got to see the ranch. Posting the pictures would be wonderful.

Timmy is set to begin his short run of shows with Richie Furay, so we'll know soon enough that he's OK.
I've tried several times to post an image of Paramount Ranch, but no luck. Using a free site called ImgBB. I thought it worked for me the last time but nooooo, not this time.

I wonder if Timothy will perform at all 4 of Richie Furay's California shows this week or just the one that is being filmed at the Troubadour?

Such terrible devastation in California; a whole community burned down (Paradise) and 85,000 acres affected.
Here are some pics of the ranch from Google images; some were on Twitter also.

Yes, his Facebook page indicates he will be at all of the shows. I didn't know the Troub show was being filmed, thank you. Maybe Randy will be there? Tim's FB page says there will be "special guest(s)".
Delilah, those photos are so sad. I know they were just facades for the most part, movie sets that can be re-built. Nothing like people losing their homes. Still, it gives me a pang to see it.

I agree NMB. The devastation and loss of life is just awful. It looks like the only thing still standing is the church, which was a bit of a distance from the other buildings. I'm not much of a photographer so I don't have any pictures. However, if Soda, Houston Baby, or Brooke want to send me some of their photos, I would love to post them here.

Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear this! I really enjoyed getting to visit there with Dreamer. I will try to dig out my pics and post some.
My heart also goes out to all that have been affected by these terrible fires. So sad.

Thanks for the photos Brooke and Soda. I hope they rebuild it too, NMB. When we were there, we had a good time there trying to figure out what buildings the guys were actually photographed at. I looked at the photos that Soda has on EOC and the only building I can actually identify from those is this one ...

yes I was very sad to hear that the Ranch had been burned down, what a pity that this bit of Eagles hisyory is no more. Never got to visit it sadly. Still grateful that nobody was injured in this part of the fire, although I know there was loss of life in other places.

I just noticed something else - I believe these pictures that Delilah posted may show the ruins of the building where these famous photos were taken

The building is much more 'rustic' in the photo shoot than they were when we saw them!

From the link that CA sent, it seems the "town" had a major overhaul in 1985. So many of the buildings from the photo shoot had changed when you guys visited. I'm glad they are rebuilding. Thanks for the link, CA.

So glad to hear about the plans to rebuild the ranch. I hope they will restore it back to the original as much as possible. I am all about authenticity these days. ;-)

I wondered about that too, but! "It got a major restoration in 1985, with the park service trying to maintain as much as it could from the original buildings. Corrugated tin roofs on many of them still dated to the 1920s."
