Starting July 1: Hotel California Survivor Game

Well folks - It's time for another Survivor game. So one week from today on July 1st, we will begin the Hotel California Survivor.

So, pull out your Hotel California album and give it a listen while you're traveling down that dark desert highway this week!

Just a reminder to everyone that the Hotel California Survivor game begins tomorrow night - 8:00 p.m. EST.

And I know this is short notice, but we had not planned to include the Wasted Time Reprise in the game. We haven't in the past, but if enough members feel strongly about it, I can include it. In the early days of the Survivor games, I think we included a couple of the musical interludes, but they extended the game an extra 2 days and always got voted off first, so we dropped them. I welcome your opinions though.

I think we probably should include it. Back when the album first came out, there was a radio station in NYC that used to play it before "VOL" so I got used to hearing it that way.

I would prefer to leave it off, much like Desperado Reprise I'm not a fan of this one either. The original songs are way better in both cases.

I agree with Austin. In this case I coulsn't see the Reprise doing better than the oroginal song. I'm looking forward to this survivor. HC is a good solid album so it will be interesting to see what the game throws up. Thanks for organising it Dreamer

Wasted Time Reprise is a lovely piece of music. It’s understandable though why it would be left off. The drawback for me is knowing which song will now be voted off first. :-(

Sorry scottside - But, as you can see, the majority of folks that weighed in here were not in favor of including the Wasted Time Reprise, so we're going on without it. That doesn't mean that it's not a beautiful piece of music though.
