Yay!! I got a copy of the Japanese Allnighter tourbook. I hadn't quite appreciated the size, even from those magnificent scans Soda posted. The head portrait is almost life-sized.

I was just surfing on eBay and noticed a couple of interesting items. I'm still not good at posting links so will just list the items with their eBay #'s.

For all you Glenn Frey fans there is a yearbook from his high school
Item #160195810000

For Randy Meisner fans there is autographed pic
Item #120206053361

For those interested in some unusual recordings(there are 2 different ones available '74 New York and '76 Sydney)
Item #110190842232

And last but no least, a boxed cd of HC with a tshirt
Item#260199935597

I've never seen any of these items before and thought I'd share them with you. Unfortunately for me, I've busted my budget already and can't bid on them, but good luck to anyone that does.

Thanks for posting those, rcknalwys. I'd seen that yearbook for sale, but not the others. That Sydney recording is interesting.

Just to help, if you want to post a link, copy the http tag at the top of the page you want to link to, then paste into your post. It comes up as a link then, like this:

I've got part of the Sydney show, which is called 'Welcome To The Late Show' because the show started late and that is what Glenn says at the start. The track list is as follows:

Take It Easy
Outlaw Man
Doolin-Dalton
Desperado
One Of These Nights
Turn To Stone
You Never Cry Like A Lover
Midnight Flyer
Already Gone

It's from their first visit here in 1976 when Joe had just joined. The sound quality is not good.

Regarding the yearbook, I came THIS close. However, I decided that it was an extravagance I could not afford.

Regarding the yearbook, I bought one of these a couple of years ago. I scanned the pictures in the book for Soda,
so they are already on GFO. I bought it from the same guy that I bought Glenn's essay from who was a classmate of Glenn's.

GA, the essay was one I purchased from a schoolmate of Glenn’s. It was written when Glenn was about 14. It was very cute, and indicated that young Glenn had an eye for the ladies even back then.

I saw this guitar on ebay earlier today.

http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t236/Irisheaglesfan/61a1_12.jpg

Up for your consideration is The Eagles Hand Autographed Eleca Acoustic Guitar. Hand Signed on 4/10/07 All Band Members in Glendale CA

This is an Authentic Hand Autographed Eleca Acoustic Guitar from The Hollywood Collection, LLC in Glendale, CA. It comes as pictured with the Certificate Of Authenticity and an Appraisal sheet. This guitar was hand signed in person on 4/10/07 by All Band Members (Don Felder, Joe Walsh, Don Henley, Glenn Frey, and Timothy B. Schmit) in Glendale CA. The replacement value is $2400.

What strikes me as being odd is that on either 10th April or 4th October FELDER signed that guitar????

I would also argue that that is NOT Glenn's sig.
Compared to the takamines
http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t236/Irisheaglesfan/0040639982279_L2.jpg

I've no intention of buying it but was just wondering if its authentic. Any idea?

Freypower
02-03-2008, 06:24 PM
That looks totally fake. Henley has never signed his name like that. Felder would NOT have been involved (the date would be April 10) and I've never even heard of the brand.

Glennsallnighter
02-03-2008, 07:01 PM
Thats exactly what I thought too! In fact NONE of the sigs look authentic. It was the fact that Felder's name was on it too shows that it could not be real. Thanks for confirming. I hope nobody is gullible enough to buy it!

Ouch, GA, those 'signatures' are a travesty. I've actually sent a message before now to one of these cowboys to say that the signature is obviously fake, but I guess while there are still folk out there who don't do their research, there will always be a market for these hucksters.

I think I have a genuine Glenn autograph on a copy of The Allnighter album. I bought it off Ebay, and the seller had a plausible story about meeting him on a golf course.

GEF and FP - those photos and signatures are gorgeous and I agree that they look like the real thing to me. I think those people who sell these fake autographs on ebay are so repulsive, although, I can't imagine bidding on an autograph there myself without doing lots of homework. It's a shame that some people don't do their homework, but still it is disgusting that there are people out there that take advantage of this. It's also a shame that ebay doesn't have a better means of policing some of this.

I also wrote someone on ebay about an item where they didn't even attempt to replicate the look of the guy's signatures, and it had an outrageous opening bid on the item. Some people had actually bid on it, and again, I thought it was such a shame. Of course, the guy replied to me that I didn't know what I was talking about. I won't repeat my reply back to him here.

Apparently the lady selling it won it on a radio competition years ago, played it once then said she was going to put it on a shelf where it has lived since!! Now she is doing a clear out! It only cost £5.99. About €7.50!! An unsigned cd would cost more than that!!

Now, is anyone as sad as me in having more than one copy of their favourites? I have three copies of Strange Weather, all from Ebay. Second purchase was insurance in case the first got damaged, third was the Japanese version with Ain't It Love on. I have two copies of The Allnighter on cd (both Japanese), and two copies on vinyl, two copies of Soul Searchin' on cd (one is the Japanese again, with It's Cold In Here), two of Solo Collection ( I had to 'rescue' the second from an airport shop in Oman!), two copies of Live, two copies of Masters, one of which lives permanently in my car with the artwork tastefully displayed, two copies of HC, two of Eagles, two of Desperado (I bought the vinyl replica versions on cd) and two of The Very Best Of. Phew, confessions of a Glennoholic!

GA and gef - congratulations on your latest ebay acquisitions. They are both great!

And gef - I don't have duplicates like you do. I used to have all the albums in vinyl, but I don't know exactly what happened to them so I replaced them with the CD Box Set. However, I don't put any original CDs in my car because they take such a beating. I burn a copy for my car and keep the original CD almost unplayed. That way if one gets scratched in the car, I can just burn another blank disc to replace it.

Glennsallnighter
08-26-2008, 06:02 PM
That is an excellent idea Dreamer, tho I sometimes like to imagine someone raising their eyebrows in approval if they saw a Glenn  cd cover casually lying on the passenger seat or dash!

I'll be getting my box set soon, so I suppose then I'll have some duplicates. I also bought OTB a few months ago on vinyl. It was in a plastic cover. When I got home I realised that there were 2 albums in it instead of one!! I suppose I should have brought one back, but as the shop was in the city where I don't tend to be......well.....I sorta forgot!

I have an original and then a 'Deluxe' copy of LROOE! I don't know if that counts. Anyway Laura has one of them. And 2 copies of NFA. MF gave me one for my birthday, and when I was ordering the Millenium Collection off Amazon by accident I ticked a box that had me order NFA as a special. I hadn't the heart or stomach to send it back. Guess who owns it now......? Yep, got it in 1!

I have done as dreamer and made duplicates of most of the original cd's to put in my car. Although, I managed to get scratches on my original Don Actual Miles cd. :-x Now I'm going to have to buy another of it. I have all of the original vinyls (2 vinyls of HC and the Live album since I just happened on to them in a shop. No way could I just go off and leave them sitting there!) I have duplicates of Strange Weather and Soul Searchin' - both the normal versions and the foreign versions with the extra songs. I also bought the deluxe version of LROOE even though I already had the normal one... I felt kind of suckered when the deluxe version came out because if I had known earlier, I would have held out for it. Obviously that marketing ploy worked on me!

That is an excellent idea Dreamer, tho I sometimes like to imagine someone raising their eyebrows in approval if they saw a Glenn  cd cover casually lying on the passenger seat or dash!

Not to worry, GA. I actually let my nieces burn my CD's for me because they like to do it. They also make photocopies of all the cover artwork to put in the CD case, so I can sneak a peak when driving down the road. It also makes searching for a particular CD easier in the car.

I also bought both versions of LROOE, but I really can't blame the marketing strategy. I know myself and I would have bought them both even if I had known about the deluxe version in advance. It's just like when the F1 DVD was re-released with the bonus CD - I ran right out and bought it even I didn't need another DVD. However, it worked out fine because I took the bonus CD and gave the DVD to my cousin.

I saw that. I refuse to bid on items when I see that kind of postage. By the way--I am williehoo on ebay.

I'm glad we're all coming out of the woodwork! I think the only ebay person I've seriously bid against is someone called rorimom . If that's you, please let me know and I'll call a truce!!!!

Probably Not Ticky:hilarious:.

My hubby's reaction would probably be 'Hey, I'm your hero. And I just touched the kettle. Would you like to touch it and make me a cuppa while you are at it?'

Hubbies! We love them but they'll never understand us!
