I thought they belonged to Glenn's first wife, 'plaintiff'!!! - (sorry Soda but they couldn't possibly refer to Mr H ) :)

Sorry for the confusion. When I said maybe they were Don's I was referring to the fact that they were TEXAS license plates. No reflection on Don's character - :) I  him!

But you're right DD since "plaintiff" is also a Texan maybe they were hers. Of course 82 would have been before she became "plaintiff". :hilarious:

Yup! I've always wanted one but they're so expensive. I have a bracelet made out of a 1960s Pennsylvania plate that I love.

I don't have a pic of mine handy but it looks similar to this: http://img0.etsystatic.com/015/0/7470047/il_170x135.430320796_84bs.jpg

Probably just need metal cutters and something to smooth the edges.

Saw a couple Eagles posters on Ebay with the wrong signatures on them!
They had the original 4 with Joe Walshes Signature. How stupid that somebody thinks they can sell these! People should be very aware of what they are purchasing. Ebay should ban "false" memorabilia. I think anyway.

I'm not sure this is the best thread to put this in but I didn't see anything under Joe's threads. I wanted to share because I think it is so cool (just like Joe!)

Joe Walsh collectors bobblehead doll that was offered at the 6/14/2014 Akron Rubber Ducks baseball game...

This particular one is item # 181441357515 but there are a few others up on Ebay. There were only 1000 given out at the game.

Not sure where to post this but here it goes.I have a copy of Hotel California I'm trying DESPERATELY to get signed.Have Henley,Walsh and just recently Mr.Felder(who was an absolute gentleman to meet)I am hoping to get Mr.Meisner's,I've heard rumors he's I'll and am not sure of the truth.I will be taking a trip to California soon and he is just as important on that album as the other four members.Any leads on where I may find him?Again,do not want to impose but it would be the world to me if this were to happen.I can give you my email address if someone does not want to post on this site.I know it's a lot for my first post, thank you so much for the individuals running the site and to anyone that reads this.

John, welcome! Unfortunately, I can't answer your question. You don't seem to have Glenn's autograph, either? Of course, I can't help you with that one, either. I'm glad you had such a good experience with meeting Don Felder. If you met him at a recent show, please feel free to post a review of the show in the Don Felder tour review thread.

Welcome John. Unfortunately, I'm not able to help you either, but good luck on your quest. I moved your posts to the appropriate thread. I am also the proud owner of a signed Hotel California album as well, but I didn't have to obtain any of the signatures - I won the album, which had all 5 autographs, in an auction.

Good Luck John in your quest and welcome to the Border!!

I have 'The Allnighter', 'Strange 'Weather' and 'No Fun 'Aloud' signed by Glenn  tho I bought them all on eBay. I brought my 'Soul Searchin' album cover to Niagara Falls and my 'After Hours' to LA in the hope (rather than belief) that I would be able to get them signed, but sadly, no joy. I'd say you just have to be in the right place at the right time!!

Really cool!

I did the VIP experience, too. Felder was great. However, we were told Felder would not sign albums with other Eagle's signatures on them. How did you convince him to sign yours? And how did you get the other guys' signatures? Sounds like you might have some cool stories. :) BTW From what I can tell, Glenn is actually a pretty nice guy. ;)

Do we know why? That seems strange to me. What's the rationale of this?:headscratch:

It seems strange to me, too. He used to do so. It seems to be a new policy - at least I'd never heard of it before it was stipulated in the VIP terms. I wasn't personally affected because I had brought a solo album for him to sign, but I felt sorry for those who were.

I didn't ask for an explanation at the meet'n'greet, but I did ask for some more info on social media and didn't get more than a generic response that told me nothing.

I guess it might have to do with fear of people coming to the VIP thing just to get him to sign something they can sell (he doesn't sign guitars either), but doesn't personalization take care of that? Plus, what's to stop the person from simply getting other Eagles to sign it after he does?

I guess the lesson is that if you want all five Eagles signatures on something, you'd better ask Felder for his first.... unless Oilers88 can let us in on his secret! :)

That's pretty cool, O88. Besides Soda, we had another Borderer that did the VIP meet and greet and she was told the same thing, no autographs on things signed by other Eagles. He must have been in a really good mood that night!

I think I read someplace that Felder thought people who collected the signatures (of all the Eagles ) were just in it for the money, to make a profit by selling the stuff & weren't real fans...I guess that has some logic to it, but VIP is very expensive, so I think those people are pretty big fans...Don't you think?

Going off to college in a couple weeks, and I'd love to have a poster of the boys to brighten up my dorm room. :) Authenticity doesn't matter as much to me, because I'd rather not spend lots of money, but if y'all got any ideas, feel free to throw them in the ring!

I have bought several items at Antiquities in Las Vegas. I kept telling the guy that I wanted something signed by only Timothy. We only go when Eagles play there. I kept saying he's in town get someone over there!!! He told me the Eagles are really hard to get to sign anything. They recognize guys who sell and go the other way. In fact he said the easiest to get signature is Don
Anyway he called all his contacts and one guy had this. I jumped on it. He had it made up and shipped to me
I love it. I hung it over my treadmill for inspiration (the beauty too)

I think there are a lot of people willing to capitalize on anything they can get away with. I wouldn't pay $500. for this.
I think there are a lot of fake signatures around too. I 'm very suspect of all these things.

Plus, the guy has zero feedback, no credibility here.

Yeah, with no way of proving anything, you could be paying $500 for something this guy just picked up off the freaking floor. Even if this guy is telling the truth, did you see that the water bottles aren't even opened? Basically, their value is based on the fact that Don carried them from his hotel room to the car. OH DON HELD THE BOTTLES IN HIS MAGIC HANDS FOR FIVE MINUTES. MUST HAVE. lol

Now, I admit, when Lindsey Buckingham threw me a sweaty towel he'd been using during the Champaign Fleetwood Mac show 10 years ago as he walked off stage, I kept it and have it to this day. I even refused money for it because I wanted it as a souvenir. But how would he get such a towel as Don's driver? Hmmmmm.

Thanks HB! It should be. I'll post photos of the items I've ordered when they come in.

I forgot to mention that I have Farewell 1 on dvd, HFO on cd, and The very best of on cd (I've it since was 14, but I've lost the case)

They do that so their product comes up when someone does a search for "EAGLES SHIRTLESS". Clever. ;)

It seems weird that there would be that many people searching for "Eagles Shirtless." Or I need to get out more :)

While I have the time, I'll post a small update of my Eagles/solo collection. There will be a bigger update sometime in July (after everything for that month comes in):

Well, as I said when I first posted about my collection, I had a poster of Don H with just his name on it. I also think that somewhere in the forum, I posted about having a warped copy of The Allnighter(don't worry, I have 2 other copies!). Well, the vinyl wasn't salvageable, but the insert was, so:

3 cds: ( bought Strange Weather used, and the previous owner had written their name on the liner notes :-x. I now keep the booklet backwards with Glenn's photo showing)

2 singles that I bought from an online friend( turns out my mom has the exact same copy of THIO tthatshe bought from Walmart when it first came out(she would've been about 24 or so at the time)

And last, but certainly not least, Poco's Rose of Cimarron (good album imo. Ignore the 2 other records, I bought all 3 at the same time)

I've taken a couple of photos of my Eagles album collection. The photos were taken with my phone, so the quality won't be brilliant. Thought it would be a nice idea to place them all out across my desk and look at them.

This is the first time I've posted any photos on this forum so I may need to have another go at this time, hopefully it'll be alright first time though.

My first photo shows The Studio Albums 1972-79 box set (closed) with LROOE and HFO also on display:
1287

The second photo shows the individual albums with each CD from The Studio Albums in its correct sleeve plus the box itself and the other two albums as before:
1288

My final photo isn't solely of Eagles CDs but shows Hell Freezes Over, my most recent addition, alongside three albums I've recently bought:
1289

I reckon that this is the best thread to ask in: I don't suppose that anyone has an extra HC vinyl inner sleeve lying around, do they? When I bought my copy, the person decided to do away with the sleeve and put the record in a brand new plain white sleeve. I really don't want to have to buy another copy just to get the sleeve. (My copy has the "Is it 6 o'clock yet?" And "VOL is five piece live" etched in). It annoys the fan/collector in me to not have the lp whole.(just the way I am). If anyone can help, I'd greatly appreciate it!

Glenn Frey- No Fun Aloud (I already have a cooy, but this one is still in the shrink wrap!)
JD Souther - You're Only Lonely (I guess JD is Eagle related lol)
Poco- Seven (like NFA, this one is still in the shrink wrap)

BUT, Head Over Heels has to be equal to DeLiverin' for me. I'm in love with "Keep On Tryin'" and Donald Fagen's "Dallas," not to mention "Let Me Turn Back To You" and "Down in the Quarter." Plus just look at those faces on the cover (Timothy, oh, Timothy.)

As an aside, right after GBMT, is "Us," which is, I believe, the first time Rusty Young sang lead on a Poco recording. And then here comes Tim"s "Flyin' Solo!" Yay!!

And, props to Paul Cotton and George Grantham, both of whom are excellent.

I agree that Head Over Heels is also one fine album. I just love Deliverin' because I believe Tim said the first song he wrote is on that album & I don't have it with me now, but will look up the title. It's also a live double album & Jim Messina is still with them on that album.
Also love the liner notes written by famous NY DJ Pete Fornatel. Tim looks so very young on that album, but the picture of him on Head Over Heels Cover is to die for, as you see I'm a Timothy Lover also :heart::heart:

Back when I was starting all the sites, I spent oodles of money on memorabilia. I built up quite a collection... then they started touring and all that money went into "the concert fund." Take advantage of the "now" while you can, I say! The stuff will be there later.

A good chunk of my music/hobby budget for this month has gone toward the Eagles/solo stuff (particularly Glenn). I bought these items yesterday locally. (Bought the 3 books from Books-A-Million, the dvd from FYE, and the magazine at Walmart)

To The Limit- Marc Elliot
Heaven and Hell- Don Felder
Beverly Hills Cop (bought it mainly because of The Heat Is On. I've never seen it before)

These 2 items feature the Eagles. The book has the Eagles in 20th and 5th place for the '70s, with The Long Run and Hotel California. It talks about the album, the sales, the impact, the people involved. The magazine puts One of These Nights at #31 and Hotel California at #9. OOTN shows a small picture of the 45 single. HC comes with a nice nearly 2 page photo of the guys. this photo (https://www.eaglesonlinecentral.com/images/eaglesextra01.jpg)

As I said a few days ago, most of my music budget went toward Glenn and the Eagles. This is most of the stuff that I bought online. (I'm still waiting on a 45 single of The Allnighter that's been in Arizona for 3 days)

I bought another copy of Hotel California on vinyl that came with the poster, so the poster is now on my bedroom wall.
http://i1283.photobucket.com/albums/a552/kim_dixon2/Mobile%20Uploads/1455044012376_zps0cq2wev8.jpg

I also bought Afters Hours on cd. An online friend, who owns a cassette store, had a huge sale, so "I took advantage" ;). The first cassette is Timothy's solo album, Timothy B. I haven't heard of Tim's solo material yet, but I'll give this a listen to soon.
http://i1283.photobucket.com/albums/a552/kim_dixon2/Mobile%20Uploads/1455044365085_zpstmcmntce.jpg

The Allnighter

Glenn Frey Live
http://i1283.photobucket.com/albums/a552/kim_dixon2/Mobile%20Uploads/1455044492608_zpsktplpguk.jpg

I've never seen this last item before, so I don't know much about it. I bought it fairly cheap. It's obviously from the press for Soul Searchin'. The autograph is a machine one. (Or so the seller on Amazon said)
http://i1283.photobucket.com/albums/a552/kim_dixon2/Mobile%20Uploads/1455044132682_zpssk2o6ttb.jpg

While out shopping today for a baby shower I was checking Walmart's entertainment section like I usually do and suddenly saw the Glenn Frey Greatest Hits album I've been trying to get off Amazon (they've been out of stock for weeks) and it was only $5. :D I normally don't shop at Walmart that much anymore but surprised me as they had a lot of that album, the Eagles' albums, and Don's. I'm not sure if it was because of their partnership they had with them before but it was so nice seeing that. My parents had a couple of Glenn's albums but on cassette so I finally got the CD (they had The Eagles ones and Don's on vinyl and CD for years). I did have it on my tablet but I'm still more about having my CDs. LOL I did notice a couple people were staring at me but I was smiling so big finding it there. :inlove:

This youngster buys cassettes of her favorite bands/artists and albums that are easier to find on cassette than on cd or vinyl. I bought 6 yesterday from an online friend, 4 of which are Eagle related.

Unfortunately, this week has been so busy with doctor/dentist visits abd college stuff that I haven't had much free "me" time, to enjoy any record playing. I hope that Sunday afternoon I'll be able to.

Yeah, AG, you're always scoring something great. :jealous:

I just get lucky because I have some cool friends who look for stuff for me.

BTW, just letting people know, FYE has Eagles shirts for sell for $20 each, both online and in stores. They're the Hotel California and Greatest hits shirts. I wanted one badly, but my store was out of my size . I'm debating whether or not to buy one online and having to pay shipping.

Cassettes are somewhat popular again. I think with us younger generations it's because of the "Guardians of the Galaxy" Marvel movie and the 90s nostalgia that's been going on the past couple years. I don't have anything to play them anymore though and I still prefer CDs. LOL

That's awesome AG about the shirts. I've been meaning to find an Eagles one too.

I tried that, and they can't. The lady who helped me told me to call back next Thursday because they'll get a new shipment in, so I'll just be patients and wait :).

Scratch what I said about being patient and waiting. I went back to FYE, and they had just gotten these 2 in stock, so I bought them instead. (I've been meaning to buy HFO for a long time now). I'll try to get a t-shirt next month.

There's actually still a fairly big market for them, especially the heavy metal tapes of the 80s/early 90s. (Been there, bought that)

Well, shoot - that's good to know. I bought one of them conversion software things to digitize stuff from my cassette tapes. My brother-in-law, who also has an enormous cassette and vinyl collection, did the same. Then both of us realized it would take so long to go through all of our cassettes and keep what we like, it's going to have to wait until we're retired. And by then, the technology will be completely different so ... anyway.

I'm gonna break this up into 2 posts. I'll post the rest when the stuff arrives. April is probably the last month that I can spend agood chunk of change on my music habit because of college. I'll have to be more selective of what I buy.
I have online friends to thank for these, except the first one.

Glenn Frey- True Love/ Working Man single. ( I've just discovered the goldmine this is Ebay. )
Don Henley- 12 inch UK Sunset Grill Maxi single (b side: She's on the Zoom and Building the Perfect Beast)

A good friend framed some of my History of the Eagles memorabilia and I got it hung on the kitchen side wall last night. Of course there's loads more than I could hang but here's what I ran with in the end

This is the main feature with Scotts drumsticks, some pics that I was given at shows and VIP passes/tickets etc
http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t236/Irisheaglesfan/Mobile%20Uploads/image_4.jpeg (http://s161.photobucket.com/user/Irisheaglesfan/media/Mobile%20Uploads/image_4.jpeg.html)

I also got each of Glenns studio vinyls framed and displayed them around the feature
http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t236/Irisheaglesfan/Mobile%20Uploads/image_3.jpeg (http://s161.photobucket.com/user/Irisheaglesfan/media/Mobile%20Uploads/image_3.jpeg.html)

The set list is to the right hand side. Then as I move along the wall there's done posters and at the end is the picks that Glenn❤️ gave me in Liverpool.

I still need to get the HOTE poster framed. And to balance the set list I will do one of the rolling stone covers.

I have a Eagles necklace that is the logo off of the first album with the eagles wings and the word EAGLES on it. I was told that it came from a person who was very close to the Eagles (record exec ect) The lettering is exactly like the lettering on the medallions that the Eagles wore in the early 70's. Do any of you know anything about it or even the medallions that they wore. This item was stored for close to 45 years in a private collection. Any info would help.

From all accounts, only the four original Eagles owned the medallions you see in so many early photos. Yours sounds cool, though.

Post a photo, Henleyfan!

Do the original Eagles medallions have each band member's name on the back?

UndertheWire

There's a thread on the medallions https://www.eaglesonlinecentral.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2212

I had an idea that Glyn Johns had one, too. Maybe the record execs thought the original ones were such a good idea, they had some made for themselves.

Sometimes thrift shops/antique stores have something cool. My mom thought that it wasn't like me to look in a store like that, but I felt like I could find something good there. The only holiday themed record that I really wanted.

A few years ago when I was 9 there was an old Eagle at our school. It had a nest but never came back. In the nest were 7 Eggs.

We raised the Eagles but after I left the school after 5th grade the next 5thgrade class released them into the wild.

I scored this off eBay this weekend:

https://content.screencast.com/users/cheryl7821/folders/Default/media/f75a7ed4-dd8b-4774-bd4c-495a41c2cc1c/EaglesComic.jpg

This is the second one to have come up on the auction site. Pippenwhite did some research on the origin and this is what she said she found: "It's a supplement, probably an insert for a Sunday paper, from Universal Press Syndicate. Someone probably saved it from a paper. From the text, it was a repeating feature. It ran in the Vancouver and Cincinnati papers -- in black and white."

From the eBay listing: "This listing is for a vintage full color Sunday comic page featuring "Pop Idols and the Disco Scene" by Brendan Boyd & Stan Drake. This nice full page comic is dated October 28, 1979. Scarce page in this series! Features The Eagles with Glen Frey, Don Henley, Don Felder, Joe Walsh & Timothy B. Schmit. Also featured is Pink Lady with Mie & Kei. Music gossip / information comic page with artwork by the famous Stan Drake! This full page comic tab is 11 inch by 8 inch and is in Very Fine condition."
