I just saw HH's comment in another thread (in Fleetwood Mac) and I realized I never posted this here. I think this is what's on Glenn's shirt and I think they're called 'hurdlers'.

Forgive me if you've said this elsewhere but... what the heck are those used for?

I didn't say and I asked Austin and he didn't know. I just asked the guy who posted the picture on Facebook, we'll see what he says. Just guessing here and this is completely a guess by looking at the picture, I would say a hurdler hurdles the frets. Not being a guitar player, I have no idea why you'd want to do such a thing.

OK, and if so I must ask again why it was also on his shirt in the One Show screenshots?

Maybe he played guitar off-camera? Maybe there was one still stuck to the inside of the suitcoat?

Well, I don't know why that would be the case. Why would he drag his guitar over to London when he had no need for it. It seems to me that it is part of the shirt. When you said you saw him brush it off one shirt, that honestly has me baffled.

If any one of us ever gets a chance to talk to Glenn again, we MUST put this at the top of the questions list!

I just assumed he would seldom travel without one. A few years ago, a co-worker, actually a customer, told me that a long time ago the suggested treatment for RA was to do nothing. More recently, daily exercise is the norm. Anyway, this guy, whose older brother suffered from RA, said that his brother was told if he didn't use the mobility of his fingers daily, he'd lose that mobility. I guess not everyone would approach it the same way and there are probably other exercises that can be done regularly even if the approach was the same. I just assumed without really thinking about it that he'd play frequently.

When I was at the After Hours show in NYC last year I noticed this on his shirt. I kept trying to figure out what it was because it looked like it was embroidered on the shirt. To me, it looked like an Eagle. Kinda like one of the old Eagle symbols they used in the 70s. A tiny little Eagle - that was what I was seeing and no I had not had anything to drink!! :hilarious:

I've even considered that it might be a crow, since he seems to like those.

I am sitting here laughing - this is too funny! It dawned on me - first the mole, then his neck, now the thing on his shirt!! We do have fun with our opinions/concerns for our guys!! :hilarious:

I'm loving all of these screen-shots, in awe of Glenn, and loving that thing on his shirt!!! LOL. OHHH How I love Glenn!!!!

I feel like a horribly neglectful Frey-ite that I've never noticed before that he's wearing a necklace here--does he often nowadays still sport one? Any idea of what it is--still the groovy 70s-era medallion? ;)

As for the cuff bracelet in the screencast--I feel like it might be a Native American representation of an eagle--the pattern on the silver glimpse on the side looks like an outstretched wing glyph to me....Said it before and I'll say it again, I wonder what happened to his 70s-era jewelry--the right hand ring, the bracelet, etc.--hope he passed it on to someone or has it in a box in his sock drawer, versus chucking down a Coldwater Canyon ravine when the 70s ended and the band blew up! ;)

In the last few years, I don't believe I've ever seen him or a picture of him without it on. Of course, it's not always possible to tell, like when he wears a suit. Even when wearing an open neck, the shirts hide the necklace.

I don't think he wears the same trademark Eagles medallion now that he did in the 70s, although it would be EPIC if he broke that out for the upcoming tour. Talk about a sense of history!

I was under the impression that the necklace is not jewellery but has to do with his medical condition.

Yeah, I think it is. The chain looks like the kind typically used for medical ID. I thought about getting one for my epilepsy but never got around to it.

I love that turquoise cuff bracelet. I wonder if it was custom made. It is quite beautifully detailed.

Don't know if I would ever wear turquoise again, but I had some and loved it in the 70's. seeing it makes me want to go look for a bracelet like that :)

He had surgery twice for diverticulitis in the late 1980s & in 1994 (which is why I didn't see the Eagles until 1995) but he also has rheumatoid arthritis.

Regarding turquoise, I wore the turquoise necklace I got in Santa Fe to one of the Opera House concerts.

I'm sorry for being uneducated about this, and I suppose I will google it, but I will ask anyway: what is the purpose of the necklace in the cases of Glenn's medical conditions?

I'd speculate that he takes a medication that interacts badly with certain medications an EMT or nurse might give him, and the necklace warns them of that (they always check for those before giving any kind of treatment).

personally, as someone who has GI issues myself, I wouldn't really want the true nature of my condition made public...kind of embarrassing to have people imagining you with those issues.

I had no idea either! Aww poor man!

You'd think instead of a necklace he'd wear a bracelet--that's what most doctors recommend as it's easily seen by EMTs and emergency personnel. People where them for even the most senstive of conditions in a discrete manner--it's not like it woudl scream out in neon--I HAVE A GI ISSUE! ;) Perhaps the necklace is a religious medal or something invovling his kids?
