Thanks T&H! The Laurel Canyon Country Store especially appeals to me. I can picture 70's rockers hanging out in there!

Not sure if this better belongs in the Milwaukee Summerfest thead or where, but I think it's a sweet story even non-Milwaukeeans might enjoy-
Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel columnist Jim Stingl profiled a t 72-year-old widow who has befriended her new neighbor, a 47-year-old gentleman in a wheelchair. He confided in her he had never been to any rock concert, so she bought two lawn seats to see the Eagles at Summerfest. Sadly, if you've ever been to the Marcus, you know the lawn seats are indeed all lawn--grass, and on a bit of an incline. Hence, not wheelchair accessible. She contacted Summerfest, but they said the show, including all wheelchair-friendly sections, is COMPLETELY SOLDOUT, and there's no wiggle room to find them two seats....
However....Summerfest has reached out to the Eagles and their management to see if they can help. Apparently the band holds the reserved seats behind the sound board, which would be perfect space for a wheelchair. They hope the band will give away two of their reserved seats there for the woman and her friend.
It's a very sweet story--what a generous woman, to reach out to this man. I hope the Eagles come through (all involved seem to think its a sure thing), or another kind souls with wheelchair accessible tickets helps them out... Jim Stingl is good at keep readers updated with stories--I'll let you know if I hear anything.
Article: New Kid In Town-Woman won't take it easy until she gets friend's wheelchair into Eagles concert
Wow, I certainly hope they help them out!! I hope those who work for the guys don't say 'no' without at least checking all the way to the top.
It's sweet in intent, but releasing her request to the media seems a pretty blatant attempt to put pressure on the Eagles to do what she wants. It's all in the name of a good cause but still, the methodology is a little manipulative.
It would be a pretty good upgrade from the two lawn seats she paid for... she must not know a lot about venues if she thought the lawn (which is pretty self-explanatory) would be accessible to him.
