I was 6 and I notice the Eagles at our local radio station and asked who was singin', my dad said it was Glenn Frey. At 10 (we didn't had a computer earlier) I googled the Eagles and saw Glenn Frey, and found some songs of him and the Eagles. A few months later I searched again and found The Boys Of Summer and I found Don Henley, and I liked Don.
My first Eagles song was Hotel California.
My first Glenn song was Long Hot Summer
My first Don song was The Boys Of Summer
And Don become more special to me and I bought all his albums and dvd's and yeah I'm still a huge fan of Donnie and I always will be. :iloveyou:
The Eagles changed my life, but Don Henley really changed my life and he means a lot to me.
Your Mom has good taste, GOS!
I collect vinyl albums of my favorites, too. In fact, I had several vinyl albums that I'd collected before I had a working record player (mine had broken back in 1993 and I never bothered to replace it until I started collecting vinyl). After I got a working record player again, I thought, "Well, the sound quality on these kind of sucks," but it was cool to have them anyway - especially since some things, like the Buckingham Nicks album and the Longbranch Pennywhistle album, are not yet available on CD.
MH - I see your parents have good taste, too. :)
Like you, I used internet sites to fuel my fandom, and then I turned around and made my own! The internet is a great thing for fans.
Yes it is indeed!Quote:

I'm working on building my vinyl collection back up also. I just got 15(!) Poco lps from eBay. I have also replaced my Eagles collection. As I've mentioned, I'm hoping to move soon and when I do, I plan to display them....any one have a suggestion on a way to do that?
Wow 15! You go! :D Amazing!Quote:

GOS and MH - Thanks for sharing the stories of your Eagles fandom with us. It is amazing how many young people love this band. They apparently still haven't lost their mass appeal that they had back in the '70's. I have an 11 year old niece (a.k.a. Eaglelette) who just loves the band. Her favorite is Joe. Anyway, it's great that this is a band for all ages. Talk about timeless music - seriously.
I heard Already Gone at the shopping center down the hill from campus yesterday, and saw an undergraduate tapping along with the beat. So many of their songs, with a few exceptions, don't sound dated at all. I bet if I'd asked that kid, "What decade is this from?" that he wouldn't know for sure.
I have 2 of my old vinyls in frames (Hotel California and Eagles Greatest Hits) and are hanging on a wall in our home office. I plan to frame all of them. I also have my Don autographs and my picture with Don framed in the same room. I like it and am going to paint the room to blend with the HC cover. It is slowly becoming our Eagles tribute office!Quote:
