It's kind of obvious to me that we must assume every breath he takes robs the air from someone who deserves it more, and he does it deliberately.
VA, yes that is what he was doing, but it was the roundabout way & things he said that bothers me.....the back handed compliments...Maybe you can't see this from the point of view of Timothy's fans, but obviously I'm not the only person who see's it that way.
Re: Discussion of Eagles Documentary "History of the Eagles"
Topkat, you don't speak for ALL of Timothy's fans by any means. Guess what: I'm a fan of Timothy, too!
I don't know why people are so eager to form "teams" according to favorites. We all have a common team - the Eagles!
Whether you see it as positive or negative depends not on who your favorite is, but on your personal perception about whether or not you feel it is warranted to assume the worst. I tend to be more positive, but I understand not everyone is like me. It would be boring if we were all exactly the same! ;) There's no need to get defensive or angry when people disagree with you. I say that to everyone, not just you, although your condemnation of all Glenn fans because some don't agree with your interpretation is a ready example.
Just because someone doesn't see it the same way you do doesn't mean they're wrong, or have some kind of evil agenda. I get that not everyone is going to agree with me when I post something, so I don't let it bother me. The thing that bothers me is when people misrepresent the facts (and I don't even assume they do it maliciously - I understand people can unintentionally remember things inaccurately). Of course, it also bothers me when people are rude, be it to me or someone else.
If you feel it is impossible to discuss something without getting angry and upset, perhaps it's time to step back a bit, take a deep breath, and remember it's just a message board about a rock band, not life or death.
Again, we're all Eagles fans, or why else would we be here? There should be no "us against them" attitude. It's unnecessary and destructive.

Soda, I did not bring up this topic...I saw that Mary did, so I agreed with her. This bothered me right from the start, but I did not want to even bring it on to the board, so as not to say anything negative...I am not saying ALL Tim fans agree with me, but I do see that some see what I see in those comments....As I said, I am not the one who brought it up.
I am not angry, just expressing an opinion... Like everyone else here..
I just don't see what positive there is in what Glenn said about Tim. I do know that it was meant to tell the story of how Tim came into the Eagles, but I felt Glenn could have been a lot nicer about it, especially since Timothy is still in the band & not an ex-member, but it is what it is.
I don't hold any personal hard feelings against anybody here, I think you know that & I hope everyone else knows that. We are all just defending our guys...
Re: Discussion of Eagles Documentary "History of the Eagles"
I understand the urge to defend - it's in us all!
I sometimes wonder what the Eagles would think of all of us going to town like this... They'd probably be like "You people need to chill!!" lol
Re: Discussion of Eagles Documentary "History of the Eagles"
Soadscouts, have you seen an uptick in Border membership and/or activity on the website since the documentary came out? Just curious...seems I've seen a few March/April 2013 members. (I'm confident this question won't cause any controversy in this thread!)
Re: Discussion of Eagles Documentary "History of the Eagles"
Yes, I have, MC! I think this doc was a good thing for the band for sure, warts and all.

Your previous post was an honest statement of opinion and nicely stated.
Re: Discussion of Eagles Documentary "History of the Eagles"
I thoroughly enjoyed watching it, As I don't get showtime. I finally got the DVD. Glenn came off Really Awful. I don't care..but he did, lol. The part about Joe's Spiral broke my heart too. Great to hear from Bernie. NOT ENOUGH RANDY, DAMMIT, lol. I mean interview wise. Great show though.
Mick

I wish Randy had gotten more interview time as well.
