Joe playing a Les Paul! That is what I like to see! He RARELY plays them anymore (only for a short time during the talkbox solo in RMW) after he got into it with Gibson in the late 90s. I wish he'd play them again - especially his older ones. The Goldtop with the Bigsby is awesome (seen on Christchurch) as is the Cherryburst featured on HFO.

I looked up some symbols and their meanings in some texts that i have, and I believe Joe's tatt is an endless knot

It has complex meanings and depends on the intent, but represents one of eight Auspicious symbols important in Buddhism. If it's blue, it a sign of spirit triumphing over the senses, which would make a lot of sense for him. The one on his fret arm looks like a yin-yang symbol, which can represent a lot of things. No way to know if I'm right, but it's a possible answer.
