After watching the CBS Sunday Morning clip, I am ready for another trip to Linden!
I can't wait to go in October. I hate I won't be able to see Caddo Lake, but I come back another time.
Thanks for the link to the video Shun! (I missed it because I was too lazy to get up and watch the show).
I really enjoyed watching the video. Linden looks like a cool place to live. (Not much different than my own small town, although Linden is about 5x bigger). I can picture a teenaged Don going to the movies. Caddo Lake is beautiful and picturesque , as is that ending scene around the campfire.
Come on Friday!
I dvr-ed. Nah I won't get up that early on a Sunday morning. Now to remember to set-up for the Ellen show.
Love you guys for these heads-up.
I highly recommend the Linden Dairy Queen. ;)
I just happened to accidentally catch the CBS show yesterday and there was Don! Great interview!
Rolling Stone just posted their review of Cass County. David Fricke gave Don a well deserved 4 stars.

Here's another review. AmericanSongwriters gave Cass County 4 out of 5 stars.

Despite Take A Picture Of This being put forward as the lead track from Cass County and it already spending a few weeks at the top of the BBC Radio 2 and Radio Scotland playlists, it's not, as I type, in the top 5, Don Henley songs being played on the BBC.
Current Top 5 (22/09/15):
1: Waiting Tables
2: The Cost Of Living
3: Words Can Break Your Heart
4: Younger Man
5: Praying For Rain
Dirty Laundry is no.6. The aforementioned Take A Picture Of This is way down at no. 10.

Too many musicians, is what I thought. Too many backing singers. Coloured hair & a waistcoat (vest) with a chain on it. Other than that.... the song is OK & will no doubt grow on me. I will not comment about Trump except to say that yes, he is covered extensively outside the US too.
Just found this out. Don will be on CBS This Morning. The show comes on at 8:00am Eastern/7:00am Central. He will be on around 8:30 from what the CBS website says.
It should be posted on their website later this morning.
I haven't had a chance to watch the video, but here's the CBS This Morning video.

Here's a picture of Don from this morning. Now don't he look purty.

Here's an article/interview done with USA today, mainly talking about the album.

However, here's the part that I find most interesting:
I don't know how a Broadway production of Eagles songs would work out.Quote:
Also, Henley and Glenn Frey are continuing to develop a Broadway production based on the Eagles catalog. "That's tricky stuff, that musical thing," Henley says. "Several people that I highly respect have tried and failed. We want to learn more than we know now about the process and how to make it work." While such a musical would take years to get to the stage, "that's somewhere down the pike.
My own view is that Henley & Frey would be much better employed at producing some new Eagles music rather than once again milking every last drop out of what is after all a somewhat limited catalogue. You may say 'well surely there are enough songs that would fit into a musical'. Perhaps. In my view they have taken the existing catalogue as far as they can go with it.
Don will be in the Acoustic Guitar issue. Here's a preview. I don't know which issue. SO look on the lookout for this issue.

NY Times Review on Cass County.
http://www.nytimes.com/2015/09/24/ar...ntry.html?_r=0
It says at the end it's the December 2015 issue of Acoustic Guitar.
The preview answers the question of whether he played guitar on the album; no. He didn't play drums either - I would have thought that went without saying. He only ever played drums on five of his solo songs. Phil Collins he is not.
Don was on a radio station called WCBS. Here's the interview.

I'm not sure what point you're trying to make, FP but Phil Collins is no Don Henley nor Peter Gabriel for that matter as far as I'm concerned.
Don suffers from a bad back which has prevented him from playing drums for years and as someone who has a chronic neck problem for the last year I understand his suffering. Don has never attempted to pretend he's a great drummer - in his most recent interview (which is great btw) with Charlie Rose he admits he's a better singer and songwriter than drummer and I maintain he strums the guitar mainly as a prop because he doesn't know what to do with his hands. As he has said himself, in Nashville there are supreme musicians practically tripping you up so he wanted to have the best which in no way detracts from his own talents.
Here's another article. Great pictures. The first picture looks familiar. He posed like in an old picture.

A Couple of days ago the, Vintage Vinyl News website, was bigging up the chart promise of 4 veteran artists: David Gilmour, Keith Richards, Ryan Adams (without the B) and Alabama, whilst prominently displaying the, Amazon Top 20 by Veteran Artists, which had Don's, Cass County clearly placed as Number One.
They've rectified their gaff:

Not only is Don Henley the number 1, veteran best seller but the Eagles have also snuck back into the Top Twenty. They are at number 18 (as I type) with their old release, VBO album.Quote:

Congrats all round :applause:
I was just making a point that Collins played drums on all his solo albums & Don only played them on five tracks. That's the only reason I said it: there were no other motives. I have said before Don is a much better drummer than he gives himself credit for, but I wasn't expecting him to play drums on this album. I understand he wanted the best musicians. I was just commenting on his answer to the question 'did you play guitar on the album' where he said 'no, and I didn't play drums either'.
Here's an interview for Ultimate Classic Rock. Is everybody excited?!!!! A few more hours until its officially Don's release date.
http://ultimateclassicrock.com/don-h...ck=fbshare_top
Don is to be on Jimmy Kimmel October 1st...
Tomorrow's the big day! I'm driving to the nearest Target - which is 60 miles away - to get my copy the day of release!
I know, Soda. Its finally here. I can't believe its finally here. Heck I can't believe its finally happening after Don's been crying wolf for a few years now. I just wish I knew he was going touring this year before I plan my vacation early this year.
Here's an interview Don did on Today in Australia. I think this is the same show that the Eagles did when Don was still in America to celebrate his son's birthday.

I was surprised to see that. I should apologise for the presenters. That's what all Australian morning TV is like.
Here's an interview Don did with Studio 10. I think this is an Australian show. The interviewer went to NY to do the interview with Don.

Waking up to an email from Spotify saying "Don Henley- Cass County is now available" is a nice thing! Unfortunately, I won't be able to give the album a listen until this afternoon. Soda, I hope that your Target has the album. (Or doesn't sell out)
So I am waiting for Target to open this AM to purchase my 4th copy of Cass Country (1 I tunes preorder, 2 with Concert Tickets, and one Target) Because Target has "It don't matter to the Sun" The One song I wanted! When I go in there is an "Old, Grubby, Toothless guy at the CD rack... Asking "where is the Don Henley CD? So I go to look @ something else cause I don't want anybody to think we are together... or that I am That Old! (Even tho I am);-).LOL
Checking out we were the only two people... Both with Don Henley CDs.... He wanted to visit about Music.... I had to ask him to Please move so I could Pay and get to work.....
First two purchases in my Local Target this morning were Dons CD...
So I have a brand new 2015 Cadillac and guess what NO CD Player!
Listened when I got to work tho!
Can't wait to get mine after work. Hopefully, it's won't be sold out. ;-)
