Re: Dreaming of the Eagles
Had a dream last night with Jackson Browne and Timothy B. Schmit making an appearance. Here goes...
I was spending a day shopping with one of my closest friends. We made our way to a music and video store called Hastings (not sure if this store is available in other states but there are many here in OK). I knew exactly what i wanted to buy but couldn't find it and as I was about to ask an employee for some help I saw Jackson Browne organizing a stack of cds. It was as if he was working there. My jaw dropped the moment I saw him and I grabbed my friend and pulled her along as I made a bee line to JB. He saw me walking toward him with a huge smile on my face and he stopped what he was doing, smiled and said "Hello, ladies. How can I help you?" I said "OMG!! You're Jackson Browne. I can't believe it's really you." With a wink and a smile JB said "Yes it's really me." I said "This is so amazing. I love your music. I finally got to see you perform live last year in Oklahoma City. That was a great show." JB "Yeah, that was a great gig. I had a lot of fun at the one." Me "So, what brings your here? It looks like you're working here." JB "Well i kind of am working here but only for today. Me and a few other musicians are doing some volunteer work to help out this charity." He points to a sign for the charity but i can't remember what it's for and i don't see what Hastings has to do with any kind of charity. After our nice little chat he digs in his pocket and hands me and my friend a guitar pic. He gives us both a hug and says that he should get back to work. As he turns away I see more "employees" walking closer to us. Right away I notice Timothy. He's wearing a plain white tshirt and blues jeans and his hair was that nice little fluffy wave like we've seen at concerts. Once again my jaw dropped and my friend said "Now who do you see?" In astonishment I told her in almost a whisper "It's Timothy!!" He was laughing with the other "employees" as they walked closer and closer to us. For a moment I couldn't move. I wanted so bad to go up to him and say something but i couldn't think of anything to say. I thought back to when Joe walked by me, Lou, Annie, Rhonda, and Cami. None of us could move or say a word when we saw Joe. I didn't want that to happen again so i worked up my courage and walked over to Timothy. He had such a friendly smile as I walked up to him. He greeted me first saying "Hi, I'm Timothy. How can I help you?" I smiled a smile of which i'm sure was a really goofy and embarrassing one and said "I know who you are. Hi, I'm Jessica. I saw you in concert a few weeks ago in San Jose. It was the best concert i've ever seen!" Smiling even bigger Timothy said "Oh that's so sweet of you. I'm glad you got to see the show. Will you be going to anymore?" Excitedly I said "Yeah I'm hoping to go to the show in Dallas!!" Timothy said "Great!! I hope to see you there. Here you go. This is for you and your friend over there." He handed me two guitar picks. "Oh my gosh!! Thank you so much!!" I looked back at my friend and she was giving me a thumbs up and also said "thank you" to Tim. "It was great meeting you" Timothy said "I should really get back to work." "Oh yes, it's for charity. That's a really good thing you're doing for those people." He smiled kindly and turned away to continue working. I completely forgot what I had originally gone into the store to buy as my friend and i were walking away. As we were walking out i remember more of what i wanted to say to him. I wanted to tell him that i'm glad he's better after his surgery. I wanted to tell him about our adventures on the road trip, mainly about getting stranded in Winslow. I forgot to tell him about me and Lou being in the front row and that we saw Joe in the hotel lobby. I was about to turn around and walk into the store when my stupid phone rang and I woke up. UGH!!! From now on i'm turning my phone on silent when i go to sleep.

Re: Dreaming of the Eagles
I had an Eagles related dream!
In the dream, I'm talking to glenn and we're talking about a piano riff for a song and he says, "ask glyn johns" and I turn and glyn johns is there and I laugh, startled, and he is in a fog (in the studio) i can't make out his face and his voice is a very clipped english accent....
he says, "i can only tell you what I told glenn frey (and he mispronounces it fray) and that is what Paul McCartney told me... that "you never cry like a lover" would be better with a trill and two percussive chords to establish the song.
Then, I turn and Paul McCartney is at the piano and he plays the intro and says, "I knocked this one off for the boys when they were here at Olympic! (in typical Paul jolly fashion) and he sings the song and, pow!, it is a Paul McCartney song.
I'm shaking my head in amazement and Paul says, "the song was for Jane Asher, really, we seemed so perfect for each other, but we were never right when we were alone. a bit like that old glen campbell song."
I woke up wondering what song he was talking about and then I realized it was a Johnny Hartford song "gentle on my mind"....
Now, I wish I could get Paulie to sing the song as I can imagine it.
(anybody enjoy the song references in this post?) no? ahhh...

Bernie appeared in a dream of mine Sunday night but I haven't had a chance to put it up yet. It's quite involved. I will, though!

Re: Dreaming of the Eagles
I had a very brief Eagles dream last night. I guess fueled by Timothy's recent hospital stay, I was sitting on his hospital bed, he was in bed, looking really good!! Jean was there and we were all eating Dove Ice Cream bars and he kept stealing the chocolate off mine. That was it, but then, Tim, in bed with chocolate, what more do you need? *G*

Re: Dreaming of the Eagles
I had a Joe dream last night! :blueblob:
Unfortunately by the time I opened my eyes I couldn't remember anything that was said in the first "scene". But I do remember impressions.
I was in a small living room with some guys, I guess they were supposed to be friends of mine but none of them had faces, they were just vague extras in my dream. Joe came into the room. I don't know why he was there, but it felt like a very casual meet 'n greet. It was seventies Joe - he looked like this
http://www.joewalshonline.com/images/JWalshRMW02.jpg
He was wearing a long sleeved button down shirt and pants. When he talked he sounded like he did in the Steve Dahl interview. I got the impression that he was just being goofy and having fun but that he didn't normally sound like that. As Joe got more and more silly he continued to goof around, and at one point he whispered something into my ear. I don't remember what he said but I felt his mouth touch my ear! :inlove:
The whole time we sat there I held a book. My impression is that it was a book about Joe (?), and it was my intention to have Joe sign it.
After awhile one of the guys in the room said, "Oh yeah, we gotta go, we said we'd paint that house today!", and Joe said he'd come along and help.
After they left a few young women came into the living room (I think they were the guys' girlfriends), and I knelt down and opened some doors in what looked like an old microwave cart. I started pulling out Joe's solo albums and handing them out saying, "Here, you can have Joe sign these."
Then I walked outside and down an alleyway a couple of doors down to the house that the guys were painting. It was a very long old house with white peeling paint. I walked by the first long side of the house and didn't see anybody. When I got to the other long side of the house, there was Joe, all by himself with a paint roller on one of those extender poles. I watched him for about 30 seconds. He was really going to town! He was rolling the paint on really fast and occasionally he would jump as high as he could to reach a spot. The paint he was putting on the house looked like mud and he had it all over him. I said, "Would you like me to hose you off?"
And then I woke up. :ack: :brickwall:

LOL! Great dream, Cathy. If Joe's not already helping you with your decorating project, he should. I'm sure he'd love your chest. ;)

Re: Dreaming of the Eagles
I've been meaning to put this in here for a while now, but kept forgetting. I had a very entertaining dream that was less bizarre than usual, and for the first time, my dream starred Bernie Leadon.
I'm in the middle of the woods and it's raining hard. I come across this small house with a big wooden porch out front with a porch swing, Southern-style. I'm desperate for shelter and so I run up to the door and knock. It's opened by Bernie Leadon and I recognize him, but for some reason I'm not star-struck. It's like he’s just a regular guy. He invites me in, no questions asked. Suddenly this big dark-haired guy appears behind me and also wants to be let in out of the rain. Bernie shrugs and lets him in.
He invites us both to the kitchen for drinks. His kitchen is very old-fashioned with appliances from the fifties. He grins really widely and asks us if want tequila sunrises. We say yes. Bernie starts getting a bottle of tequila out of his cupboard and opens the refrigerator to get orange juice when the guy starts saying weird stuff – about violent things he’s done when he’s drunk – he’s laughing and thinking it’s funny but they were bad. I won’t go into them here because it will bring everybody down but it was violence against women. Then he goes to the bathroom.
Bernie looks at me. “We can’t let him have anything to drink. Even if he was just kidding… he’s not right in the head.”
“I was thinking the same thing,” I say, relieved. “Just don’t pour the tequila into the drink. Give it to him without the alcohol.”
“He’ll know the drink’s not strong. He saw where I keep the tequila… he might try to go for it later…”
“Hide the liquor behind your guitars,” I say. He has a whole bunch of them lined up in his den which is next to the kitchen. “Come on, we don’t have much time!”
Bernie grabs all of his bottles of liquor out of the cabinet and somehow manages to get them all in the next room behind his guitars before the guy comes back out of the bathroom.
He grabs the virgin drink, swigs it, laughs maniacally, then leaves.
"Phew!" Bernie says. "Thanks for that great idea, Nancy." I beam. He says "Come on into the den. I'm going to play for you a song I never play for anyone. It's about a girl I knew a long time ago... " he trails off and looks sad. I don't say anything.
We go into the den and he gets out his acoustic guitar and plays this sweet love song. I feel bad for him because it's obvious he loved this girl and they broke up. After he finishes I tell him I thought it was great and he cheers up.
Then the dream flashes over to me being back in a field near his house again, only this time it's sunny. I'm humming the song as I pick flowers. This woman comes up to me who looks like Linda Ronstadt from the 70s. "Where did you hear that song?" she asks. Before I can answer, she says, "It reminds me of a song I heard once..." and she goes on to sing the song.
I think "Oh my gosh, this must be Bernie's long-lost love!" I tell her "Come with me. I have a surprise for you." She does, and we go up to Bernie's house again. He's on his porch swing, singing the song. She comes up to him and sings harmony as they look deep into each other's eyes. I'm watching going "Wow, this is so romantic" and I'm positive now that they've found each other again, they'll be together forever.
They finish the song and start kissing. I woke up before they could thank me, lol. I also woke up feeling really happy for them! It was like a mini-movie and a lot more fun than most of my dreams!

Awww What a beautiful dream Nancy!

Re: Dreaming of the Eagles
Very cool!
"...before they could thank me". LOL.
-
Re: Dreaming of the Eagles
Lol Nancy. I'm glad your dream changed from a maniacal drinker to a love story between Bernie and Linda!
-
Re: Dreaming of the Eagles
That is a preety cool dream, Nanc. I'm sure Bernie will be forever grateful to you!
-
Re: Dreaming of the Eagles
That's a funny story! I thought that Linda Ronstadt was J.D. Souther's girlfriend, That must mean that she and Bernie are, at least, good friends!
(It's just a dream about sweet sixteen)!

Re: Dreaming of the Eagles
I was going to edit my post one more time, but I decided against it--too much fine print at the bottom...I should have previewed before the upload!
I was thinking that the story line in the dream is almost like the story in the song lyric "Hotel California," from reading through the first paragraph to the ending.
Isn't that strange?
Maybe it's from song influence; from listening to "Hotel California" and dreaming it all up differently.
Do you think that at the end the two reunited singers are in an old MGM movie studio singing voice dubs for a movie soundtrack?

Re: Dreaming of the Eagles
For 2 nights in a row now I have had an Eagley dream. I can't remember the night before last but just remember it was about the Eagles, everything very vague and not making sense and couldn't piece it together.
But this morning I went back to bed after Larry left for work and I remember this one.
I was at an "Eagles Convention". I was standing outside this building that had a big sign about the Eagles Convention and I was the first one in line and remember thinking how lucky I was as I kept watching people get in line behind me and was surprised at how many people were there.
Then someone opened the door and we were let in to this big wide room with tables across the back and above each table had a name of an Eagle or someone in the backing band. Behind the tables stood each Eagle or musician right below the banners that stated their name. They were all selling their solo cds, shirts, posters all kinds of memoribilia with only their pictures or whatever on them. But I noticed as I walked in a table in the center the had a banner that read Eagles above it and Irving was standing behind the table selling all the Eagles cds and stuff. He was holding a wad of cash and smoking a cigar!:hilarious: I just shook my head and headed over to Timothy's table.
When I had almost gotten to his table, I just stopped and got real nervous and had to talk myself into going up to the table and talking to him. I was trying to decide what to buy because I already had all the cds and stuff but wanted to buy something so I wouldn't make him mad or I wouldn't look silly! :hilarious: When I walked up, he said hi and asked what he could do for me. I remember it stunned me but I told him I wasn't sure yet but that I was a huge fan and sure I'd find something. He told me he didn't expect me to really buy anything because he knew I already had all this stuff. I was shocked and was just getting ready to ask him how he knew, when the phone rang and woke me up. It was Larry telling me he couldn't find his wallet and asking me to look for it. :-x Darn husband interferring with my Timmy time! Just so no one worries:hilarious:, I found his wallet on top of the frig! :brickwall:

Re: Dreaming of the Eagles
Darn Larry! No telling what he may have interrupted!

Re: Dreaming of the Eagles
I met some friends at one of my favorite restaurants last night, and they had copies of some of the articles from the Chicago papers about the Eagles Chicago concert for me, so of course I had to speak about my fun time at the show, my friends all know how long I can go on about joe, so when their eyes start to glaze over, I try to stop lol. I rarely remember dreams, so it must have been the chemical stew of cold medicine, italian food and a couple of white russians that inspired me early this morning.
It seemed so real. I was at a restaurant table with friends (guess I'm not too imaginative) and my phone chimed that I had a video message. I open my phone, and it turns into a big screen, kinda ipad size and it's a pic of Joe waving at me. The video starts, and he's bouncing around in a bleacher seat, like the pics from the Lakers games. He's got on a hoodie w/ the hood up, and it had these bright strings that kept spinning around on their own (wth?). he keeps smiling, waving and jumping around. Then the camera backs out and Timothy's beside him grinning a big beautiful smile and blowing kisses. Then audio starts and they're both saying "Hi-Hi Deb, sorry we missed you We love you" It was nice! I must have spoken or laughed, 'cause my dog came up and starting licking my chin and I woke up. It was short, but fun. And unfortunately at 4:30 am and I couldn't get back to sleep, the things I go thru for these guys...

Re: Dreaming of the Eagles
Love both these dreams! I wanna go to an Eagles convention or have a big-screen phone where I can see Eagles waving at me! ;)

Re: Dreaming of the Eagles
I'm a bit sad that I haven't had any Eagles related dreams lately. It's been quite a while actually. Maybe since I mentioned it something will spark deep within my thoughts and they'll make an appearance in my dreams tonight. I'm off to be real soon so I've got my fingers crossed.
-
Re: Dreaming of the Eagles
You're right Peek, this thread has dried up majorly. Okay all you dreamers, I want you to vow to eat an apple tonight before bedtime! They say that sometimes brings on dreams.

Re: Dreaming of the Eagles
Right, I'm off to the shop to buy some Granny Smiths!
-
Re: Dreaming of the Eagles
Yeah since I rarely remember any dreams, I count on those of you who do dream a lot to provide my Eagles fantasies. Well, okay - NOT!

Re: Dreaming of the Eagles
I had an Eagle dream recently but sadly it is too risque to post here!

Re: Dreaming of the Eagles
Nancy I think you could write a book with all of your dreams! Everytime I read them I feel like I've been through them too! lol! I'm sure you'll be getting a lot of requests for more info on your most recent "endeavor" :hilarious:

Re: Dreaming of the Eagles
I guess I can give the PG version, as there were other parts to the dream.
At first, I'm standing in line outside of a venue when I see Glenn coming towards me. I wonder if he'll see me and come over. He does, but instead of taking me backstage, we are suddenly in a room with a turned-down bed.
[PG-13 stuff starts to happen]
I pause and say "Wait, aren't you married?" and he says "It's OK, Cindy's cool with this." At that moment, one of my friends pops in out of nowhere and says "Go ahead Nancy, it's OK. This is a just a fantasy story I wrote for you."
So... I go with it... enthusiastically.
[R-rated stuff happens]
Afterwards, I look away for a moment and when I turn back, he's gone. I look around for him and I hear him talking to someone in the room next door. He says "I'm sure she'll tell me the information about the spies soon, no problem."
I frown. So that's why this happened! My friends pops in again. I snap at her "I thought you were writing a fantasy for me! He wouldn't be using me for information in my fantasy!"
She replies, "Well, I thought a spy element would make the story more interesting."
Then I wake up.

Re: Dreaming of the Eagles
Girl, I don't know what you've been drinking, but I need some of it!
-
Re: Dreaming of the Eagles
:hilarious:Have tacos before bed did ya? Geesh!! One question... what "stuff" started to happen? ;)
-
Re: Dreaming of the Eagles
I think it might have been inspired by my streaming of Showtime's The Tudors on Netflix. It's pretty heavy on the sex and intrigue. It's actually a bit too heavy on the sex for my tastes but I can't resist Renaissance-era shows.
As far as the "stuff" you can just figure it out for yourself. ;)
I have to say that despite the downturn at the end, the dream was overall very enjoyable. :pimp:

Re: Dreaming of the Eagles
Never hold out on us again Nancy!
