OMG - That was too funny. Love David's humor and attitude!
They don't really say no dancing before the shows, do they? That's just part of the joke, right? Please tell me this is a joke.
Yeah MV - it is part of the joke although Glenn and Don have admonished folks at recent shows not to stand during the slow songs.
MV - I don't think they actually say "no dancing" or "no standing" before the show like they say no photos. But, they mean it - you may not stand until a "rockin''" song. When they started Already Gone, people were sort of looking around, like, is it OK? And the security guard in front of our section was actually motioning for everyone to stand up, and he got people up and it was fun. The problem is that they then go into Best of My Love, and it's sit down again, and stay down for Lyin' Eyes. Then on OOTN, people were sort of confused, but I got right up because I love that one and Timothy B was groovin' on bass and I wasn't sitting - they let me stay up and others around me. Then you hit TITTL, and you're down again. It's like Simon Says, it's definitely a strange concert experience [I am not complaining, I would go another million times]. For the latter part of the 2nd half you're up pretty much the whole time, and its a blast. I was at the 5th of 6 shows at the Forum, and it seemed to me that the fans knew the deal. When you know the deal, you just sit back and enjoy the Eagles.
Unless you're the lady near us who was absolutely blotto and was up the whole time and they had to keep sitting her back down - it was pretty funny. She was like the honey badger, she didn't give a sh*t. And she was trying to dance with the security guards. Her date was like, "oy..."
MC. That's kinda funny of what you said even though I know you were serious. I can see that. Simon says stand up. Simon says sit down. Stand up. Simon didn't say stand up just yet.
I'm so glad they got the crowd up to dance. That would be great if one concert the whole orchestra section pulled a "Footloose" as David said and got up to dance. Security would have a heart attack!! :partytime:
