I hope they release a DVD of this tour.
I am still having withdrawals from it.

From the above article:

Stalter is currently on the road with the Eagles and probably will be until mid-2015.
Can't recall if we had a thread regarding ticket prices or not so decided to put this here for now (Moderator, feel free to move if there is a more appropriate thread).

Apparently, Gene Simmons isn't happy that the upcoming Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame inductions won't include later members of the band, only the original members. He uses the Eagles as an example of how it should be done, as all seven of the Eagles were inducted.

Simmons definitely has a point:eyebrow:
Our guys came in at #22 in Billboard's top paid musicians of 2013. Not bad when the tour was only half the year.

Here's the Billboard story and I don't believe their numbers.

For a start, they refer to a 77-date tour ending on 23rd November. That was only 48 dates. From that, they esimate earnings of $11 million from the tour in 2013. The methodology states: "For box office, each artist was credited with 34 percent of the gross, typically what’s left after the promoter and manager’s cuts and other costs are subtracted." So they're estimating the gross for the 48 days is around $32m, an average of $674,000 per date.
For comparison, an average ticket price of $100 playing in a venue that's sold 10,000 tickets should work out at $1m gross. I haven't noticed any reports of half-empty arenas or discounted tickets so I can't see how the take could have been lower than that.
ETA: Earlier his year Pollstar made an estimated of around $60m gross for 47 dates with average ticket price of $127 and average number of tickets of 11,201.
Yeah - pretty interesting how they come up with their numbers. But, I'm with VA here - not too shabby considering they only toured for less than half of the year.
And I totally agree and respect Gene and Paul for their stance here. This sure debunks any myth that all members of a band are a 'shoe in' when it comes to the HOF nominations ... and makes me even more grateful that all Eagles, past and present, were inducted.
