Re: Eagles Mentions in the Press
Just got this in a Google alert. Might they be heading to Australia & NZ? http://www.stuff.co.nz/dominion-post...and-The-Eagles

Oh we are VERY overdue for an Eagles concert in NZ. My preference would be Auckland, but wherever they play, I WILL be there. fingers crossed!!!

This isn't really "the press", but I don't have a video of it, either... is there a thread for Eagles References in Pop Culture?
Did anybody else hear the Eagles mentioned on Saturday Night Live last night??!!
Kate McKinnon (who is consistently hilarious) was playing GM CEO Mary Barra in a congressional hearing about faulty wiring that resulted in people dying - the joke was that she kept evading answering any of the questions. Eventually, a congressman asks her, "have you seen the e-mail between two GM engineers that says, 'this cobalt situation is blowing up in our faces.' Does that sound familiar?" and she replies, "It does...um...is that a lyric from an Eagles song??"
See, everyone is thinking about them, even SNL writers! Probably because of Glenn's presence in NY recently!!

Got this in a Google alert: http://daddydeyo.com/2014/04/09/the-eagles/. It's a blog about the writers discovery of the Eagles & what their music meant to him. It's very positive except for the line near the end where he mentions hearing a more recent recording of them in Australia. How can you judge on one recording which may have been a bootleg?

it is very interesting. i am with you on the recording thing and they don't say the kind of recording it is. you can only say that about the harmonizing if you hear them live. but there are bootleg videos of this last tour in youtube and they sound great!:headbang:

Thanks for the link, GL. It was a fun read. I left him the following comment ...
From a hardcore Eagles fan, that was a great read, daddydeyo. However, if you get a chance to see their current History of the Eagles tour, please treat yourself. They are still sounding great and those harmonies are as awesome as they’ve ever been.
