Well, Willie and I will have to negotiate on settlement with all y'all but I'm sure we can work out the details to everyone's satisfaction!
Hmmm, I'm wondering which Large Building was in that dream? MGM Grand? Mandalay Bay? Caesar's Palace? Or maybe Bellagio?
It's important because it would only be fittin' if Willie and I put everyone up in that "building" for the concert we'd coordinate the trip with. Probably be MGM Grand. That's where they usually play when doing Vegas.

Re: Dreaming of the Eagles
While I know I still need to write about my civil war movie dream, I had to quickly write down one I had last night before I forget it. It was very short.
I'm at an outdoor festival to see the Eagles with my sister, but we are next to the stage rather than in the audience. I see Jon Bon Jovi walking by. "Ooh, did you just see him? How cool that Bon Jovi are opening for the Eagles!"
My sister agrees. "I think he should join the Eagles," she says.
I say, "He can't because Bret Michaels just joined the band." (In my dream, this statement is perfectly logical). "I can't wait to see him play with them for the first time!" (Note: IN MY DREAM I felt this way. lol)
At that moment, the Eagles come out onto the stage with Bret Michaels. Their first song is "Every Rose Has Its Thorn." Glenn, Don, Tim and Joe are all backing him. "Evvvvvvery rose has its thorn.... just like evvvvvvvery night has its dawn...."
"Oh my gosh! I can't believe they're opening with a Poison song! No more Seven Bridges Road?? Everyone is gonna be so pissed off when I post my review on the Border!" I exclaim.
Then the dream kind of went in another non-Eagles direction but of course when I woke up that was the part I remember best! lol

Re: Dreaming of the Eagles
Your dreams are so interesting Nancy! Mine usually go the way of Glenn  being unattainable! Lol
-
Re: Dreaming of the Eagles
Another new Eagle?
When I read the story, I thought you were going to write; for the first song: "Love Is a Rose..." and then have the band end it with all of those repeats to the final fade...
-
Re: Dreaming of the Eagles
:hilarious: Bret Michaels an Eagle! :hilarious: That's hysterical! LOVE it!! Wonder if they all would start wearing the bandanas! :fear:
-
Re: Dreaming of the Eagles
For some reason, I just can't grasp Bret being an Eagle! :eyebrow: Too funny!
I had an Eagles dream Saturday night! Very short, but hey, I'm happy!
I was in the kitchen at church and someone came in and said there's an Eagle here! I went and looked in the sanctuary and there was early 70's Glenn sitting in a pew looking through the hymn book. There was another guy with him that looked more 2010ish with short reddish hair. I told her that was his cousin. (How I knew that, I don't know!) I was thinking I needed to get in there and introduce myself. Then I woke up!
I need to find a picture of how he looked in my dream. I know there's one around here somewhere!

OMG Brooke - since you all were in church, I sure hope that Glenn left behind his Budweiser, Marlboros, and Playboy magazine that he usually has in this picture.

That's funny Brooke! When I posted my Eagley dream I posted a picture of what Joe looked like in my dream too. :hilarious:
And Soda, I'm glad you were concerned about what we would think when we read your review.

Re: Dreaming of the Eagles
I had a short dream last night... I was on a street and I walked up to what looked like a lemonade stand. They were selling Joe Walsh solo concert tickets. I bought a ticket, but I missed the concert, because I went to Italy instead... :hilarious:

Re: Dreaming of the Eagles
I had such a feel-good dream last night that I woke up positively beaming!
I dreamt that I was just sitting around at home and my parents come in and say "Good news! You've won Young Female Inventor of the Year!"
"Huh? How?" I'm completely mystified. "For what?"
"For inventing that series of symbols," my dad explains. (I guess that came from my history of English language class). "Now the ceremony is going to be televised so get ready."
"What?!" I cry. I jump up. "When?"
My dad looks at his watch. "In a couple hours."
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!" I scream and start to freak out. What am I going to wear? I look awful! "Why didn't you tell me sooner???"
"I guess we should have told you a little earlier," my mom says, looking dismayed at how upset I am.
Suddenly I'm backstage dressed in a prom dress with a tiara on, like at a beauty pageant. I'm feeling really self-conscious. There are other winners there and they look like Miss Teen USAs. I look VERY out of place.
I keep hearing people whispering and looking my way but when I turn towards them they immediately shush. I feel that something is going on but what?
Then I think I see Jack Tempchin and I try to get his attention but he runs off. Guess it wasn't him after all, I think.
My name is called and I walk out to center stage to receive my award, looking at the television cameras and thinking Oh no, everyone is gonna see me looking ridiculous....
Suddenly there is a big commotion from the crowd and I look off to the left and Glenn Frey is walking towards me! He is dressed in a tux and smiling widely. He comes up and hands me my statuette.
I am speechless. "Are you surprised?" He says. All I can do is nod with an ecstatic smile on my face. "Good. I wanted it to be a surprise. I swore everyone to secrecy when I decided to do it." He knew about this all along? He planned this? I think, just overwhelmed.
Then he hugs me and says "You deserve it," as he lets me go, kissing me on the cheek. The whole crowd cheers.
He walks off at that point, smiling and waving to the adoring crowd, and I'm left standing in the middle of the stage so happy I could burst.
I woke up with that feeling and it was a great one!

Re: Dreaming of the Eagles
Now that was a great dream! I love the kind where you wake up feeling good!
Let's see, there was no food involved, Glenn didn't get mad at you for anything... it doesn't even sound like one of your usual dreams!
-
Re: Dreaming of the Eagles
Sounds like this was a special GFO dream since we're celebrating its 5th anniversary today.
-
Re: Dreaming of the Eagles
That is a good dream! If I had that kind of dream, I would also wake up feeling good! Man Soda, if you earned a dollar for every Eagles dream you have, you'd be one rich lady!
-
Re: Dreaming of the Eagles
It was fabulous! And it probably was inspired by the fact that I went to bed feeling pretty happy about GFO making it for 5 years. I need to think positive (Eagle-related) thoughts before bed more often!

Re: Dreaming of the Eagles
All of the baby news in my family lately must've inspired last night's dream. This dream kind of jumps around to some very non-relevant events so i'll just focus on the Eagley parts of it.
The beginning is a bit fuzzy as to how this happened but for some reason Joe and his wife (it wasn't Marjorie and i don't remember her name but she was blond) were living in my house. It was important that they lived with me because I lived closest to the hospital. Joe's wife was pregnant and was going to have their baby any day. I know that Joe was living in my house but I didn't see him that much. He mostly stayed in their bedroom and only seemed to come out to go to the kitchen or the bathroom. I spent a lot of time talking with his wife. We had a lot of conversations but the only one I remember is when I was asking her about baby names. She said that Joe had a named picked out if they have a boy and she had a girl's name picked out. They didn't know if they were going to have a boy or girl. They wanted it to be a surprise. But they didn't know what names the other had picked out. She did tell me that she had an idea as to what name Joe picked. She said she thinks the name he chose is Donald. She wasn't sure why but she said that he had been referring to Don Henley as Donald a lot lately and he seemed to really enjoy saying that name.
When I woke up the next day Joe and his wife weren't there. I assumed that she had gone into labor and were at the hospital. I didn't go to see them because I felt that they wanted it to be just the two of them there so I just waited at the house. While i was waiting a few of my cousin's stopped by to see me and i was telling them about Joe and his wife living with me and it was in the middle of telling them that I realized that I was actually living with a member of the Eagles. I started to freak out. I couldn't believe it. I was living with an Eagle. Joe freaking Walsh was living in my house. I spent the rest of the day trying to calm down because I didn't want to look like some crazed fan when they returned. Early the next morning Joe returned and he was so incredibly happy. He had the biggest smile on his face. He walked in and gave me big hug and said "It's a boy." I congratulated him as we walked into the kitchen so I could make him some coffee. He was telling me all about his new son and said his wife is doing well. I asked Joe what they named him and he said very proudly "My son's name is Donald Joseph Francis Fidler Walsh."
I woke up soon after this but I woke up with the feeling of "Wow!! That was a weird dream!!" I immediately remembered the name Donald Joseph Francis Fidler Walsh and i just started giggling. Why did Joe give his son 3 middle names? Why Donald? Why Francis? I can see where I got Donald from but I have no idea where the name Francis came from.

Re: Dreaming of the Eagles
I realized looking at this thread that I never recounted my Civil War movie dream! I think I might have forgotten some elements - for instance, I think in my dream the movie was longer - but here goes.
I am sitting in the front row of the balcony getting ready to watch an Eagles concert. Glenn comes out onto the stage and goes to the microphone, but none of the Eagles are with him, nor is any of the backup band. What's going on? I think.
Glenn starts to speak. "I'm sorry folks, Don Henley isn't well enough to perform tonight."
"What?!" we all gasp.
"We can't go on without him," Glenn continues, "so we've decided to show you a film Don made several years ago instead." As he speaks, a huge screen slowly descends behind him and the lights start to dim as he walks offstage.
"Oh my gosh, this is so bogus!" I cry. I start to pout. "Can't they, like, bring him out on a stretcher or something? They could prop him up, bring a bucket for him to puke in if need be...The other guys could take over his leads and he could just kind of croak out the harmonies...I wanna see a show!"
"That's not very nice," Glenn says as he suddenly appears on the seat next to me.
Shoot, he heard me, I think, mortified. "I was just kidding of course!" I look over Glenn's shoulder and see Don being carried down the stairs towards us - in a stretcher! "Wow, I didn't know he would need a stretcher for real!" I feel awful. "Don't tell Don about my little joke, OK?" I ask Glenn nervously.
"OK," Glenn answers. "Just make sure to compliment Don on his acting after the movie. He's really self conscious about it and I had to talk him into it by saying we needed to give our fans their money's worth by showing them something special they'd never seen before."
Just then, Don is brought to our seats and plopped down on the other side of me - they literally prop him up. Glenn looks at me knowingly and I feel a hundred times more guilty!
"Er.... can I get you anything to make you more comfortable, Mr. Henley?" I ask to try to make up for it.
"Yeah, get us some popcorn," Don says. I am about to do so when buckets of popcorn magically appear in our laps (I love it when that kind of thing happens in dreams lol).
I wonder why they came up to sit with me, but I don't ask any questions. Suddenly the part of the balcony we are on detaches - but it's on wires - it's being carried out into the middle of the arena and we're swinging above everybody. I realize this must be the special part of the balcony and that's why the guys came up there. Wow, how lucky am I that I happened to be sitting here! I think.
And the movie finally begins. It looks like it was made in the early 80s but the movie is set during the Civil War. Don is dressed in a Confederate uniform and following a seedy looking guy into a small gray shack.
The scene changes and we see the guy putting a rifle into the closet. Suddenly Don bursts in on him. "Leave my things alone!" He cries. "Get out of my house!"
Suddenly Union soldiers burst in. "You're under arrest for possessing a stolen rifle!" They grab Don.
"No! I'm innocent!" Don cries. "He planted the gun!" The soldiers ignore him and start to drag him away as the seedy looking guy laughs evilly.
As they drag him out the door Don screams "I won't forget this! You'll be sorry!"
Then the screen goes black and the words flash across the screen "Ten years later..."
We see Don approaching the shack again. Now he is wearing a blond wig and a fake blond mustache and beard. He sneaks up to the shack and quietly opens the door.
The seedy looking guy has his back to the door. Don pulls out a knife. "Turn around slowly," he says in a threatening voice. "I want you to know who's going to kill you."
The man turns around. "Who are you?" He gasps, seeing the knife.
"DON HENLEY!" Don screams, ripping off his fake beard and wig. "NO ONE CROSSES DON HENLEY AND LIVES!"
The screen goes black and the house lights come up. I look over at Glenn and he's glancing over at Don, looking genuinely disturbed. Hmm, what's up with that? I think. Was this movie made when the band broke up?
I turn to Don. "Um, your acting was awesome. You were really convincing...."
He ignores me, turning and leaning across me so he can face Glenn dead-on over me. "How did YOU like it, Mr. Frey?" he asks menacingly.
Glenn doesn't look disturbed anymore. He looks pissed off. I think he's going to reply but he grits his teeth and says nothing. I think maybe he's holding his tongue because I'm there but as he and Don just glare at each other over me for what feels like forever, it seems like they've forgotten I'm there at all.
I realize there's something going on there and being in between them is no longer cool but scary! And there is no escape - even if I were to shove Don back so he was no longer leaning across me, our seats are detached from the balcony and there is nowhere to go unless I want to plummet to my death. I'm trapped! I desperately try to think of a joke to lighten the mood and make everybody laugh, but nothing is coming to me.
I woke up terrified - and hungry for popcorn. lol
Not the most fun dream I ever had but it sure was intense!

Re: Dreaming of the Eagles
OH MY!!! I can't even begin to wonder what that whole dream means! Very strange indeed!
Friday night (Saturday morning actually) I had a Joe Walsh dream. Hubby leaves for work around 4 and had to work Saturday. I got up with him and then Rufus, Pickles and I all went back to bed and fell back into a very deep sleep which is why I imagine I had a dream. I seldom dream.
Anyways, some friends of mine had won a contest and said they had quite a surprise that many would enjoy but me especially but wouldn't tell me what it was. Told me to show up at their house and what time. I showed up and was waiting with everyone else when someone by the window screamed "he's here!". In walked a couple of guys dressed like secret service with ear pieces and sunglasses, the works. Looked around the room and one of them spoke into his sleeve that it was all clear.
In walked Joe Walsh and Smokie. Everyone erupted into applause and Joe held up both his hands as if to silence the crowd. He walked over to my friend Amy and congratulated her on the contest and she called me over and introduced me.
Next thing I know, Joe, I and 2 other people I don't recognize are in an antique car at some carnival or fair and all of us are sitting in the front seat. Joe seems very emotional so I motion to the others to get out and leave him alone. He gets down on the floor board on his back and is looking under the dash and talking to someone about how special the car was.
That's all I remember of the dream. :stunned: Very strange (so I shouldn't make fun of Soda's dream I suppose).
-
Re: Dreaming of the Eagles
Oh my! Both of these dreams are very strange, but that's what I love about dreams - anything goes!
-
Re: Dreaming of the Eagles
Yep - I'd love to have a shrink's take on Peek's, Soda's, and TBF's dreams. But, not to worry ladies, I'm sure you are all perfectly normal!
-
Re: Dreaming of the Eagles
Don't guys always get emotional over vintage cars? ;) Strange but entertaining nonetheless!
-
Re: Dreaming of the Eagles
Very strange dreams, but at least you have them! I don't dream much.

Re: Dreaming of the Eagles
Friday I had a short "Eagley" dream. Prettymaid and I were sitting at a table with bunches of Eagles pictures, pulling out all the Glenn ones and putting them into a giant collage. That's it. No idea why or where we were. :headscratch:
-
Re: Dreaming of the Eagles
Oh - this one's easy to analyze Willie ... You and Cathy must have been preparing my Christmas present!!!

Re: Dreaming of the Eagles
GA's been putting together some really cool Glenn birthday collages, so that might be why you dreamt that part. Why was I in it? Cuz ya luv me!
(That's got to be it because I don't know how to make collages!)

Re: Dreaming of the Eagles
lol Dreamer! I want a "Glenn collage" dream!

Re: Dreaming of the Eagles
I had a dream the night before last, but I'm kind of annoyed with myself because I've forgotten most of the details! All I remember is that Jess and I were in Las Vegas, and we spotted Don at the airport. Somehow, we introduced ourselves, and he was really friendly and "normal". He was by himself, and he was like "Oh yeah, I'm in town for a few days for a concert, but I'm kinda lonely... I don't know anyone." So we agreed to meet him later to show him around a bit. I remember going to a pretty basic room, that looked like the inside of a lift - all silver and metal - but we presumed it was his dressing room. We started chatting and asked if we could take photos with him. He laughed and said "Well, I don't normally do that, but sure." So we took it in turns to sidle up to him and have our pictures taken... He was really sweet and funny. Then he said "Shall we get going?" and grabbed his jacket. We were going to wander around the streets a bit and maybe have a drink. I remember he was wearing a red t-shirt. But that's about all I can recall now, unfortunately!

Re: Dreaming of the Eagles
OMG Troub - I hope you and Jess told Don that I said "Hi"!!!
-
Re: Dreaming of the Eagles
Sounds like a good time to me!
-
Re: Dreaming of the Eagles
Troub, you want to see Don in a red shirt so badly that you'll dream it up! Lol! Great dream. Sorry you forgot parts of it but don't be upset with yourself. It happens. And at least you had an Eagles dream!

I'm almost done packing...
