I looked up when they played Montreal on the Hotel California tour and it was 29th March 1977. I assume that's when Fernandez was fired. (I'm clearly a bit obsessive about details!)

finally got hubby to sit down and watch the entire documentary last night. He was blown away by their candidness and really enjoyed it. He didn't realize that the Glenn Frey singles were from GF and said I love those songs also Henley's singles. And he has always loved Joe. He is even more excited for Monday night now.
hubby also loved the Irving and the Bohemian officials story. Said they were lucky and that manager just ensured his job
Thanks. I've checked it out on YT a few times. The boys look so relaxed, it's fun to watch. To think it might have been the beginning of their reunion ....

Thanks, MV. Don F said that same thing in his book.
I find it funny that they fired him (other than messing up Don's hotel reservation) for being a pothead yet the guys were also on drugs.
I think that might be why Don was the one to complain. He loved to get high, but he never got high before a concert because he wanted to be sure he was sober "on the job." While Fernandez wasn't the only one getting high, apparently it was noticeably affecting his job performance.
That's interesting, Soda, smart and professional.
I was remembering what Glenn said in the documentary that's kinda funny today. He said Glynn had a bunch of rules about no getting high or drinking in the studio that he and the others(minus Don H who agreed about the rules) didn't like (or in his words suit him) But when you think about it now, Glenn is now following those rules and wanted the other guys to do the same when they got back together for the HFO tour. Those rules probably true to this day, but I think that's not the problem today since it looks like the guys don't do any of those things(that we know of) in 2013.
What's the difference between a road manager and a personal manager. I guess the personal manager has the power to fire anybody their clients tell them to fire.
