That's great that Glenn did sing as well as induct Linda.
I just hate that I don't have HBO anymore. That free weekend would had been good in May. They just had it this past weekend. I guess I will catch it on Youtube.

Of my gosh..... Glenn and Stevie singing together... I almost fainted. I kid you not. When he walked out to join the ladies unannounced and at first he didn't have a microphone but they got one for him and I thought I must be dreaming and then Stevie came out and they sang together! I'm still trembling just thinking about it. Unforgettable night!!!!!!
WOW! I'm so happy fir you that you got to see them perform together! :yay::yay:

Thanks for the links and the pictures. Nice speech. Also, Glenn singing backup with an impressive array of ladies.
It sounds like a great show, apart of the E-Street speeches.
Now, will it be broadcast in the UK?
It's so easy....

Glenn points in the audience and smiles @ 0.43 - wonder if he just spotted Soda!? :-)
You're no good.....

They're so dorky. Love it!
I can hear Glenn in the clips.
Thanks for the clips. I guess I better saved them before it is taken down from YouTube.
Glenn is looking good.
amazing  performance of some legendary songs of Linda. good to see Stevie K. singing like that! tequila girl "you're no good" you are great. THANKS
Thank you, everyone, for all the articles, pis & videos! Just brightened up an otherwise dull morning.
Thanks for all the info and pics everyone! Glenn looks fabulous and how cool that he sang with all the ladies!
Soda, what an evening for you! Do you think Glenn did spot you? That would have been so cool!
Loved his speech too! :applause:
Glenn & Stevie singing together pretty much made my morning! There are a few more videos in youtube right now but the best ones are already linked. There's a Blue Bayou one but Glenn's not in it. I'm going to try to link.

No, Glenn wasn't pointing at me, lol. Sorry for my incoherent post last night. The internet at the hotel has not been working and typing on my phone is a pain. It was totally worth the trip to see that last night. Today I am going to look around Brooklyn a little. I don't get home until Sunday but tomorrow I will be taking the train to Philadelphia. It was cheaper to fly out of there 6 a.m. Sunday morning. As soon as i get internet I will type more.
Thanks for all the info. Those videos were fun to watch. Such lively performances!
Here is the speech but I am having connection problems & have only seen the beginning of it so far.

ETA: Wow! After making a mistake at the start when he said 'introduct' & had to correct himself, he was passionate & eloquent. I assume he was reading an autocue; I also assume he wrote the speech, or most of it. He should be proud that he gave Linda such a heartfelt trbute. Well done, Glenn.
Oh yay! Thanks for posting!
I found Carrie Underwood doing Different Drum. These are really hard to find on YouTube.

Regarding the performances I am so glad he decided to sing with them for some of the tribute. He is audible in It's So Easy more than You're No Good. And the bit with Stevie at the start was funny - who could blame her for wanting to stand near him but he had to indicate to her she needed to go to her mic. In Charge again!:singer:
Just chiming in on all the great reviews. He looked good. LOVED the line up they had to sing for Linda. I loved that he sang with them.
I was hoping there might be some big jam session at the end but it was late and they don't always do that. It was so worth it!!
Enjoy your weekend Soda!!
Thanks to everyone for the updates. It is a very entertaining thread and I knew you all could be counted on to post everything about it you could find. I loved Glenn's heartfelt speech and am thrilled that he joined all the awesome ladies on stage to sing! They all did Linda proud. I soooooo wish I could have been there, but my injured shoulder just isn't very conducive to traveling right now. However, if my timing didn't suck so hard, you better believe I would have been right at Soda's side!
Glenn did an excellent job at inducting Linda. He never lacks elegance in his speech.
I CAN'T WAIT TO HEAR FROM SODA......:headbang:
I thought Glenn did an awesome job inducting Linda!! It was a wonderful speech, very heartfelt and sweet and I really enjoyed it. And singing with the ladies, UNBELIEVABLE!!
What a fantastic night and I am so happy that Soda was there to experience it. A night like that is ultra rare and 2 of my very favorite singers, Stevie and Glenn on the same stage singing is a dream! Thank you everyone for posting the photos and links!!
An interview with Glenn after the induction...
http://www.examiner.com/article/glen...medium=twitter
Thanks for the interview VA. That answers my question about whether he had spoken to her before the ceremony. she seems like a very admired artist and as we all know and great talent!!
I love how they showed the early footage of her performing with Don and Glenn as her back up. They might have borrowed that from the HOE DVD unless it is public footage that is available to anyone.
Elizasong - that footage has been in the public eye ever since it was used in the VH1 program Before They Were Rock Stars over a decade ago. I believe it is distributed by a company called "Reelin' in the Years."
Anyway, I'm back, guys, and ready to start writing this up! It may take a little while, because I must type slowly so as not to disturb Milton!

Aww. He misses his mommy.
