Henley Heaven: The Don Henley Photo Thread (June 2010 - Jan 2014)

You know, I think Don had a perm back in the 70's to have such a full 'fro. His hair doen't have much curl to it now, nor did it in your pic from '89.

I'm not sure what's up with his long straight hair lol. IMHO his best hair style was the 'fro. Idk why, but I think it looked really good on him :shrug:

I agree with Brooke that Don had his hair permed to get the 'fro. That is the only era that his hair has been curly and that was definitely a fad in the '70's. It wasn't unusual for guys to get their hair permed so they could sport a 'fro. Sometime between 1978 -80, he apparently decided to give it up. If you look through The Long Run era photo gallery on DonHenleyOnline you can see how the 'fro gradually transforms into a straighter style. I also agree about Don's long hair during The End of the Innocence era. For me, it is my least favorite of his hairstyles throughout the years. I have never been fond of it.

I love Don's look with the 'fro and facial hair but take away that beard and the 'fro doesn't look nearly as hot.

A perm! Hah, insight. I wasn't aware of the men-getting-perms trend in the '70s. I do appreciate the input.

Actually... EOTI was my favorite for Don. No accounting for taste. :)

Oh yes, premium. I think hes at one of his all time hottest looks in that pic. :inlove:

As far as the perm, I even talked my hubby into getting one back then (so he'd look like Don, but I didn't tell him that! :wink:)! I think he's destroyed all pictures of that! :lol: (He did look good though!) My brother had one, too.

LOL! I think I've told the story here about how one Halloween I made - um, I mean suggested - my boyfriend put on a 'fro wig, wear a gold chain and a shirt with three buttons undone - ie, the Lindsey/Don look. I'd never found him hotter!

Did you "suggest" he have some stubble too? ;)

Nah - I sprung this on him too late for that! But he wasn't a brunette, so dark stubble would have been problematic anyway. ;)
