Tonight, our hospital staff went bowling...something most of us never otherwise do. The bowling balls were "Eagles House Balls." :hilarious:
Yeah - I almost choked on my drink when I read that. The thought of Eagles house balls makes me want .... OH NEVERMIND!!!!
What do you think I thought of every time it was my turn to bowl? And I don't even like bowling! But, alas, I had no one to share these guilty thoughts with until I could get home and post... somehow, I just knew it would get a rise out of you girls here! (Back into the gutter...)
 You girls are very bad and very funny!
Im afraid I dont know what you mean *Adjusting my halo and attempting to hide the coat hanger*
Okay, I just dropped Jenni off at school (Her Dad had the nerve to drive his own car to work this morning so the poor baby was humiliated by Mom) There was a young woman there wearing a James Gang T-shirt!! What a smart girl! *G*
Last night hubby and I were in a home improvement store looking at carpet and "What Do I Do With My Heart" played on the sound system. I couldn't believe it. Has it been released as a single? I asked this to hubby and he just shook his head and wandered off.
I assume it was a radio station, but don't know for sure. Anyways, I wandered around listlessly till it was over.
I just got on Ticketmaster to check for Indy tickets (again) and the security check was 'Glenn's Biddles'. They even spelled it right!
I'd like to get ahold of Glenn's biddles! (I'm not sure if there are such things as biddles, but if there are I bet Glenn has some cute ones!)
I belong to a Jackson Browne yahoo group, and someone brought up Glenn's name. She misspelled it, so of course I had to e-mail her and set her straight. (She spelled it Glen Fry)
LOL PM!
Lovely one PM!
I wouldn't mind investigating Glenn  's biddles either!
Stars! Nice one! Important that Glenn 's name be spelled properly!
I had bitter sweet Eagles moment last night when my hubby was channel flicking. He stopped on a sports channel where the results of Round 2 from Pebble Beach were being posted.
MF Goosen was top of the leaderboard!
Counts Glennielyn? :)
If I think of Facebook.. I think of the Eagles, really strange but true
I was leaving work a few nights ago and just glanced at a sweatshirt that one of my coworkers was wearing and I could've swore that it said Hotel California. I was about to ask him wear he got it and saw that it actually said Hollister California. That darn clothing store had me fooled.
lol!
I remember one time on campus we had an all-night charity marathon and the participants wore a shirt saying "I'm an Allnighter." Needless to say I wanted one! lol
Today when I was working at the library, a book came in entitled "Somebody", which is a biography of Marlon Brando. After I saw that title, I couldn't get the song out of my head! Not a bad thing though!
My Fighting Illini played a miserable game Wednesday night on their home court, the Assembly Hall, and this was the headliner the next morning.

LOL! That made my day, PM.
Everytime when I see my neighbour, I think of Timothy, because he looks like him :)
I have just been trying to catch up reading a lot of threads after a very hectic week. PM - I love the newspaper headline - that's a keeper!
A hectic week Dreamer? I'm glad you're not too BBF to think about us!
Yesterday, my family was in a music store buying Ethan an electric guitar and accessories for his 13th birthday...and at the front counter, they were selling 'pennywhistles!' I've always known them as recorders, but basically they are those little wind instruments that grade schoolers first learn on in music class. Never knew them as pennywhistles before!
I thought pennywhistles were different from recorders also. Hmm!! Research needed I guess.
Oh, how I wish, but quite the contrary, GA. My mom had minor surgery this past week. Physically, she made it through the procedure very well. However, for Alzheimer's patients, nothing is 'routine', so it was a challenge. Since she was unable to go to day care, I had to care for her every day. But to bring this back on topic a little, the only thing my mother will now watch on television is the Farewell I DVD, so I did get to hear that quite a bit this week. See there really is always a silver lining.
OK, did some research...Pennywhistles and recorders are in the same family, but not exactly the same instrument. Pennywhistles are also called tinwhistles, and are usually made of metal. They have 6 holes, and were commonly used in Irish folk music. Recorders are usually made of wood (except for the ones used by grade schoolers, which are made of plastic), and have 7 holes. They were used from Medieval times to the current times, throughout the rest of Europe (as well as the US).

On the left is a Tin Whistle, usually in the key of D it has a full range of 2 octaves, is usually easy tolearn and play and only costs a few euro. Many people buy them as Irish souvenirs!
On the right is a (descant) recorder. It is in the key of C. It has an 'airhole' at the back unlike the tin whistle and also an extra hole at the base. Again the basic student models are inexpensive. Many kids who do well at it move on to the more challenging instruments like the clarinet and oboe as the fingering is pretty much the same.
Hope that helps the research!!
One more advantage of this board---you never know what you will learn next!! Thanks for the research!!
The episode of the big Australian true crime drama last night was entitled 'Business As Usual'. Common phrase I know, but still....
There's an advert on TV that is shown all the time at the moment. It features a version of It's Not Easy Bein' Green... Sadly not Don's, but still! I can't help but smile when I hear it.
Today I was checking books into the library, and the first one I checked in was by author Stephen FREY. Of course, I had to smile.:)
I was reminded of my fellow Borderers yesterday when I was driving and saw a license plate that had the letters EL and GA on it. Sad, I know. I can't even drive without my mind being on the Eagles or the Border in one way or another. I also got my weekly itunes email yesterday and some artist (that i've never heard of) has a new album out called Troubadour. Yup, that's right, i was thinkin of Lou.
Jess -that reminds me. We were listening to the radio last night while Larry was making dinner and an advert for an upcoming Gordon Lightfoot concert came on and they called him the "Troubadour of folk". Then a few songs later, played a Two For Tuesday of our guys. I think I heard a small groan from the man standing at the stove. :hilarious: I chose to ignore it!
I've been reminded of members here when seeing number plates and suchlike. Always brings a smile! Troub, I must look out for that "green" ad.
My crossword on Saturday had the clue "1973 song by The Eagles (sic), covered by The Carpenters in 1975 and Susie Quattro in 2007" 9 letters, starting with D! Maybe this will be my lucky week!
Yesterday I had to fill in an application form for accommodation for my younger son at Reading University, and was chuffed to see that one of the campuses is at Henley!
I was out with some friends the other night at a bar. They like to play pool and they are in a pool league. This is the first time that I got to see them play and the team's home bar is called Shiloh's. I'm trying to talk my friend into getting me one of those shirts.

Very cool, Jess!
I see this place every day, and I finally got around to taking a sneaky photo of it. Anyone wanna flat-share?
