Me, Me Of course!
Does it come with your Eagle of Choice?
Sure! In the current climate, they'll do anything to ensure that we buy
It's my day off so in typical British style, I'm watching This Morning (a magazine TV show over here) and they're doing a segment where their chef has gone to Texas to learn about how to do a proper Texas BBQ. They're talking about barbecued brisket and what it means to be a Texas cowboy. Where's Don when you need him?
I think deep down we always need Don :). lol
I passed by a few things while on our trip to the concert in Columbia, MO the other day.
-saw a sign that said Glenn's Cafe
-passed by a town named Emma
-passed by another town named Lyndon. It wasn't Don's Linden but I thought it was neat that it has his name in it
the one that really made me laugh...
-I saw a billboard that said "Do you want to stay with the band?" I don't know what kind of ad it was for but my first thought was "HELL YEAH!!!"
Wow, PB - now THAT was some trip! But, my question is - did they have any contact information on that billboard?
I love these little reminders!
I passed a truck the other day bearing the name "Glenn Freight"!! So close - it made me grin!
Today on the radio they started talking about some of the best places to visit in Torquay, and one of them was the Gleneagles Hotel (which was also the inspiration for Fawlty Towers). Another smile moment!
I'd stay with the band too!
GEF I LOVE Glenn Freight! We have a Gleneagles hotel over here as well. Stayed in it about 15 years ago!
I'm watching a late-night boxing match from Texas. The commentator just said that one of the guys is from "Providence, Rhode Island". Oh, the little things!
I'm guessing that this should go here.
I don't know if I just completely miss heard this lady or if I'm still suffering PEW and have a serious case of Eagles on the brain but while I was at work last night, I could've swore that this customer (she was a really nice lady) said to me "Witchy Woman." It's often kinda loud in casinos with the music playing over the speakers, machines ringing, people talking, laughing and yelling and I don't always hear very well anyway. I was wondering why she said Witchy Woman because that wasn't even the song that was playing over the speakers so I said to her "i'm sorry, I didn't hear you." She responded "What is your name?" I told her my name and she asked me why I was laughing. I told her what I thought she said and then for the rest of the time while I was dealing to her we were talking about the Eagles. I wish I had customers like her at every table. She tipped me $60. Nice lady.
$60? Wow! A very nice lady indeed!
Well I was paying her out pretty good too. When I got to the table she had around $100 in front of her and by the time I left she had well over $600, maybe even $700. That's pretty darn good for the 20 minutes that I dealt to her. And I made 60 bucks off of her. I need more customers like that lady.
Wild and I were at a grange co-op today looking for chickens (dont ask) and we found a chocolate bar called Desperado and THEN TIE came on over the sound system!! We thought we must have come home to the mother ship. Who knew that the mother ship would be filled with barbed wire and steer manure!.. no chickens tho..
I was working a cross word puzzle and one of the clues was "Eagles hit ----- California". Didn't have a problem figuring that one out.
The other day on Jeopardy they had a clue about maracas and I wished they would have shown a picture of Don with his maracas.
I presume the chickens had something to do with Easter ticky? But I like a bar of choc called 'Desperado!'.
I've never seen Don use maraccas Holly! Inetesting........
AzEF! What a nice clue!
Laura had to design a chocolate wrapper in school the other day. She called it 'no boys aloud' and drew a similar pic of a boy crossed out in the guitar logo that Glenn  has on his NFA album!!
I saw a sign advertising "Eagle Security" today (I guess they make alarm systems for properties.)
Last night I went to see a local singer at a restaurant here, and he sang "Wild Mountain Thyme". Of course I thought of Glenn immediately-this guy did a nice job on the song, but I have to say I prefer Glenn's version!
Had the news on at noon to see a weather forecast for the weekend and on the sports they were talking about the opening game for our minor league baseball team in South Bend and they said " the boys of summer are ready to go". No need to tell you guys what I was thinking!!!
Just started my Pandora Radio and the first song it is playing is Smuggler's Blues! YippEEE!!!!
When I looked at my computer this morning at work, the screensaver had a picture of Eagle River, WI. Of course you know where my mind went. It was a beautiful picture, but not nearly as gorgeous as our guys are.
The local tabloid newspaper had an editorial with a reference to 'you can check out any time you like but you can never leave'. They said the Eagles' song is 'fictional' (I think 'metaphorical' is a better word). The context was that once you are involved with the governing party of this state and all its tentacles you can never escape.
Also, I am reading Thomas Hardy's The Return Of The Native, and a chapter title near the end of the book is 'The Night of the Sixth Of November'. How that escaped me I don't know as I always read chapter titles before I start the book.
I just bought the Stevie Nicks "Live in Chicago" DVD/CD combo back and it comes with a bonus track called "The One" that is a duet with Vanessa Carlton. One of the lyrics to the song is, "Guess you could say that I'm already gone." Of course I immediately flashed to the Eagles song!
I now get a happy daydream multiple times daily when I'm working, due to a new way the receptionists have starting marking the files of the next appointment we are about to go into. It reflects both the exam room where the patient is (# 1--5), and the doctor's initial (I'm Dr. E). Imagine my elation when the front of my next patient file is tagged 3E! All I can do is think, "I wish!" and smile...actually, makes for great customer service!
LOVE IT, EV!
That'd put a smile on my face too, EV!
I was driving to work this morning when I noticed this on a service van.

At first I thought my imagination was getting the best of me. That or maybe I should lay off the Eagles just a tad. <---nah! I tried to get a picture at the stop light with the camera on my phone, but it was a really bad angle. So, I found the logo online when I got home.
Mel, you reminded me of a truck I saw on the road a few weeks ago.. *G* I looked up the company name and here's their logo
http://tickypages.com/picturebin/logo_head.jpg
Im thinking we need to hi-jack these trucks!!!!
I'm game! But I'm not sure what I'm gonna do with a bunch of computer systems...:eyebrow: It would probably make for a high profit garage sale, though.
Computer systems??? AWE man!! I thought they were shipping Eagles in Bulk... dang...
Oops! I was talking about the TBS trucks! As much as I would love to hi-jack Eagles, I'm think I would rather hi-jack Timothy trucks :heybaby:
yeah, but we're talking Eagles in BULK here.. Enough to go around for everybody!!
You make quite the compelling point...
Oooh, I was thinking bulked-up Eagles, as in pumping iron! Maybe some bulked-up Eagles in bulk--now that's the ticket!
Yesterday I had a barbecue with our neighbours, 2 glasses with the inscription Tequila Sunrise stood on the table!
Of course I have taken one of the both! :)
While I was at work last night, I finally got to pay out a guy that was losing nearly every hand I dealt to him. When he finally won he said "It's about time. I haven't won a hand in A Month of Sundays." I smiled at him just wishing that the coming weeks will fly by for the Don Henley concerts next month.
Aw, I love that song, Jess!
Tell me about it. I'm counting the days.
Indeed Jess and Lou! Not even a month of Sundays now. I'm so happy for you.
Koala that is so good! I hope you had a TS or a screwdriver!!
