I've been working on a translation of a book on emotion-focused therapy, and suddenly came across the name of one of researchers. It was Schmidt. My first impulse was to correct it into Schmit. Wonder why. :eyebrow: :)

we have a local car dealership named Schmitt's...every time I see a commercial for it...I think...you've got it spelled wrong!!

Yes, we have definitely gotten used to the "correct" spelling, which is Schmit, haha.
