Gaaah, what would I give for a bigger version of that. ♥

Mmm, thanks for the additions, Soda. I can't believe I left out the '70s porch one. That was my first avatar on The Border, and it's one of my favourites.
The long day was a killer, but these Don photos certainly helped me through. I promise I don't have some weird foliage fetish! I just think Don looks so at home and sexy when he's all rugged, surrounded by nature :sigh:
Although, he looks pretty good on stage with a guitar, too.

He certainly looks great both when rugged relaxed and surrounded by nature, and also when on stage in command of his guitar! But Lou, I'd say he'd look great to you even if he was in sack cloth and ashes, eh?

Thanks for posting so many great Don pics, everyone. I agree with all of you about that wonderful interview! Most of you know I am a freelance writer (well, I was until most of the publications I wrote for ceased production in this down economy) and my greatest wish has always been to interview Don. That interviewer is the luckiest woman on the planet. *sigh*
I especially love this picture. It was for a magazine called Texas Monthly and Don was featured in an article called "The Texas Twenty--the most impressive, intriguing, and influential Texans on 1995." They included a little backstory about how that picture came about--the editor actually had one of those "Hey, has anyone ever shot a picture of one of the Eagles with an actual eagle?" moments, and he made it happen. Sequoia, the bald eagle in the shot, appeared courtesy of the Avian Conservation Center at the San Francisco Zoo, and they bragged on Don for being so sure and steady while holding the eagle as he rapidly flapped his wings.
In one of the quotes in the article Don says, "What I want to do is focus people's attention on the rapidly declining state of the world's ecosystem. Unfortunately that requires bait, and the bait is me."
He caught ME all right--hook, line and sinker!!
WOW what great pictures. I wonder if the picture of Don and the cattle was taken on his land in Texas?
Aw, thanks for that, DF. Lovely read.
To celebrate hitting 2,500! I've been listening to the Building The Perfect Beast album this afternoon (as well as The Last Worthless Evening, which seems to be my song of the moment!), so I thought an '80s post was appropriate. He's too darn cute :makeout:

Great way to celebrate, fantastic choices!
Congrats Troub on 2500! You go, girl!
Celebrating 2500 posts by listening to Don, huh? Sounds like a plan...
Way to go, Lou!
You're catching up to me...I never even noticed when I got to 2500! :hilarious:
Great way to celebrate, Troub! Congrats!
Congrats, Troub! Looking forward to the next 2500-I always enjoy your posts and pics, especially of a certain Mr. Henley!
Been reminded of this one today:

Aah, you read my mind and saved me the trouble, Soda - thanks! ;) Deee-licious!
A belated Congrats on 2500 posts, Lou!!! Here's to many more
Sigh  Thanks Soda. He looks so gorgeous in this video. The last one is too cute!
They all look really good in the How Long video!
All of the guys looks so darn good in the How Long video. I especially love Don with the stubble. YUM!!!

I love the "How Long" video-like Peek and PM said, they all look so good in it!
I usually prefer color videos, but this one really works well in black and white!
:inlove:
I know we've discussed this before, but look how large that sweatshirt is on him! I'm surprised we can see his hands!
Yeah, he was going for comfort in those shots, definitely! ;) I find the sweater quite cute, but the baggy, unflattering jeans... Not good.
Now this is more like it.

I must say, I have never seen that blue sweatshirt pic before and I really like it!:inlove::heart: Thanks for posting it, Troub!
As for the jeans, I must say I do prefer the tighter fitting ones, myself!
I see a perhaps inadvertent theme of Don with his guitar (except for two excusable exceptions ;) )
Just came across this... I hadn't seen this particular shot before. Cute!

LOVE Don's hair in the last picture.
By request, the full version of my avatar. I only found it the other day, sans watermark...

Way too yummy for his own good!
