I love it when they do that!!! On Test Drive Unlimited they have Joe Walsh's Funk 49
Not exactly the Eagles themselves, but at a restaurant in Turkey my sons told me to listen to the background music, and it was a Turkish version of Hotel California!! It even had the full double guitar riff played on some instruments resembling sitars. Made us all smile!
Went to a touristy area with a friend today and in two separate stores, I heard 'Take It Easy' and 'Tequila Sunrise' playing on the radios at each place. The last time I was shopping in the same town, 'Love Will Keep Us Alive' was playing in a store.
Heard The Last Worthless Evening in the grocery store. I stopped dead in the freezer section.
I heard the last half of Best Of My Love coming home for lunch just now. It made me think about the performance on the DVD. :inlove:
Take It Easy was playing when I turned on the radio at work this morning! I knew it would be a good day!
Just returned home on Sunday night after visiting my aunts and cousins in Tennessee. My cousin's family owns a boat dock on what is about the only lake in Tennessee (man-made, of course). Anyway, she took us out on the boat one day and all of a sudden Take It Easy start playing. She brought the "Very Best of ..." CD out on the boat to play just for me. Wow - that was a fun boating trip!
What a thoughtful cousin Dreamer! It must have been idyllic on the boat and listening to our boys!
That does sound fun!
Aw, she is a sweet cousin, Dreamer! That sounds like a PERFECT way to spend a summer day, on a boat listening to our guys! :jealous:
Yep - it was an awesome ride, indeed!
On the way home from work today, the radio station played:
"DESPERADO"
"HOTEL CALIFORNIA"
"IN THE CITY"
What a great beginning to the end of the workday! !
As most of you know, I'm in the Louisville area on a business trip and trapped in a car with no satellite radio. It was preset to a Classic Rock station, so I just left it there. This morning on the way to the office, 45 minutes worth, the DJs talked the entire time. Not a single song except for their promo of giving away tickets to the Eagles show next week (they're doing that on Thursday) and their snippet of HC was the only music played. Then this evening they played all of HC followed by Dirty Laundry. Nice.
Yesterday night before going to bed, I was watching a music tv channel ... I was about to turn off and they put ICTYW official video ... it just made me happy!
my daughter and I were driving to Walgreens to get something, and I had my iPod on shuffle, we were listening to New Kid In Town. Once we got inside the store I hear "Love will Keep us Alive". big smile :grooving:
Just got off this massive line at the liquor store. As soon as I got on the line "hotel California" starts playing. Didn't mind the wait !
Way too awesome!!!
Last night I was watching the movie Foul Play starring Goldie Hawn & Chevy Chase. In one seen Goldie was wearing an On The Border tee shirt, the one with the album cover on it. 8)
This morning I had an AWESOME Eagles filled time out with my coworkers, they dont particularly like the Eagles, in fact the guy I like says they're "lame" so this was all unexpected for me. One guy asked me what I wanted to hear, I wasnt expecting him to play them but I said "The Eagles!" so he said ok and on came "Best of My Love" (he was playing Pandora so it was random). That is not one of my favorite songs but I was kinda drunk and the guy I like had his arms around me, and when this song came on we started rocking back and forth, kinda slow dancing/cuddling, and it was SO awesome!! Now I like that song more LOL Then a bit later Life in the Fast Lane came on, and everyone was singing along! On the car ride home, it continued, Life's Been Good came on, and the guy I like said he liked it! He even has a favorite line! Such good times, and I was super happy my coworkers were getting into them when normally they don't like them!
Awwww. I'm glad you had such fun listening to our guys ALA!
I was listening to the radio yesterday morning and out of the blue THIO came on! I haven't heard that on the radio for years. They tend to play POMPOY or TOYL more. So that was a lovely surprise!
Love all of these stories. I heard Dirty Laundry in a restaurant last night. And GL - how cool about Goldie wearing the OTB tee shirt - I'd never heard about that before. Would love to have a screencap of that!
Having coffee with a friend in Sandton City today and while talking to him about eaglesonlinecentral, right on cue, Hotel California starts playing in the coffee shop...
Currently being subjected to a Kenny G inspired muzak version of I Can't Tell You Why... I'm sorry for whatever I did wrong... Please make it stop...:stunned:
Lol Steve. That is funny
The Boys of Summer was on 3FM, a national radio station in the Netherlands, couldn't control myself and started to sing along with Don (obviously he sang way better than me...)!
So last week when I was with my coworkers, Best of My Love came on and me and the guy I like were slow dancing/cuddling to it, so it reminds me of him now when I hear it. I've been trying to decide what to do about him regarding "us"...Well today I was in a gourmet kitchen store and I almost wasn't going to stop there because I missed the exit but I turned around and went back and when I got in there, Best of My Love was playing! I am taking that as a sign! :)
ALA, you remind me of myself a couple weeks ago when I went to my niece's wedding. At the reception, the DJ was taking requests. I wanted him to slow it down so that I could dance with my husband, so I requested BOML. The dance floor filled with couples enjoying the music. As Hubby and I danced, I realized that maybe BOML isn't the best song to be played at a wedding reception. As beautiful as it is, it's a breakup song! :hilarious: But, everybody on the dance floor seemed to be enjoying it!
lol Yeah I know it's about a breakup, I guess when we were slow dancing to it, he was too drunk to hear the lyrics, it was a slow song about love, thats all that was necessary! :hilarious:
and i'm sure everyone at the wedding reception was drunk too so, they didn't care! lol
went out for Ice Cream at the local Sonic tonight and All She Wants To Do is Dance was playing on the Sonic Radio!
In the car yesterday & heard a musical intro, was thinking, no - surely not??? The radio actually played Disco Strangler !!!
And, it actually sounded a lot better than it does on the CD, which I can only think is because it's not shown up by better Eagles songs... :eyebrow:
I was going to post this in the "things reminding you of other Borderers" thread because I immediately thought of TBF, and then of Soda's reaction. :hilarious:
I heard The Sad Cafe on the radio the other day. Kind of an odd one to hear!
That song is very good
On the way home from the airport late last night the radio station played "Hotel California", it was the perfect ending to a PERFECT weekend! I almost started crying! It seemed surreal that I had just heard the song live @ 24 hours earlier!
Aw! That's so cool, HB. I totally understand the emotion after such an amazing experience. Been there!
