Aw HB, it was perfect (especially for someone who saw Glenn in their hotel). ;-)

I forgot to post this here~~
I seldom post here because in our area, we hear the Eagles all the time on the local radio stations BUT this time, it's what they played instead of the usual hits.....Saturday night, we had The Drive 97.1 out of Chicago on the radio on the patio before switching over to our usual vinyl and they were having a "Deep Tracks" weekend and played Teenage Jail and Greeks Don't Want No Freaks.
Wow, would love to hear those on the radio! Even the Eagles themselves didn't go that deep! :hilarious:
I was going to post this yesterday, but I'll do it today. LOL.
I saw (on facebook) that they were having a conversation with Joe about the concert (and such) so I turned on a Cleveland radio and it was playing Take It Easy and Get Over It!!! I was so happy. I had never heard Get Over It on the radio before.
My Radio station plays half an hot of songs from artists whose name begins with the same letter after the lunchtime news each day. On Tuesday the letter was 'F'. I was cautiously optimistic, and sure thing. In honour of the weather they played 'THIO'. Hubby and I put down the car windows, turned it up, stole a coca cola bottle from (a very embarrassed) Laura and started ton(ahem) sing into it.
LOL too cool!! I love that!!
Great story, GA! Very cute!
Love it, GA!! And it's always a bonus when you can embarrass your kids also.
Hotel California is a wonderful radio companion when driving home at 1AM. Belted it out the whole way :D
I ran to Target today & on the way I heard TITTL on the radio & then right after, they played FM's SEVENTEEN. Now that's a super 70s slamma jamma!! :headbang:
LOL Debbie!!!
Today, as I was walking into Costco, I heard Leather and Lace and I love that song!!! I was singing it and I had one lady look at me. LOL. I want to hear more Eagles on the radio stations.
OMG - I LOVE that song too Christy!!! It is one of my all time favorites!
I adore that song, too. It's so romantic. Stevie's voice, of course, is amazing and Don's parts make me swoon!
I watch Martin Bashir and today going to commercial he played "The Heat Is On"
it was great!
Oh cool Troub! I guess that was to do with our current heat wave.....
We were out driving on Friday night just as a gorgeous golden sun was setting. TOYL came on on the radio and we turned the corner, to see a house called 'Niagara Villas' bathed in sunlight! You can only imagine where my mind was at this point in time........
I was driving around at lunchtime the other day. Being a bit bored, I decided to play a game which I unimaginatively named "How long 'til I can find an Eagles song on the radio."
Now my car radio has two sets of FM presets (5 stations each). The first set - my main presets - has 3 stations which might realistically play an Eagles song. I quickly scanned through them. No luck. The last station was playing "La Grange" by ZZ Top.
My second set of presets has fewer good stations and really there was only one that could possibly play the Eagles. I switched over to it. Sadly, it was playing Fleetwood Mac's "Hold Me" (oh, early days of MTV, I remember you well...).
I let "Hold Me" play on. Toward the end I waited with bated breath to hear what would follow. Much to my dismay, it was a commercial.
At this point, I began to question the practicality of my new-found game. I was thinking to myself: "What did you really expect - that you would just flip through a couple stations and voila, there's an Eagles song?" Yep, I'm a little hesitant to admit it, but the practical, logical part of my brain beat the Eagles-fan part of my brain into submission. I decided to abandon "How long 'til I can find an Eagles song," for the time being anyway.
The only thing I had left to do was put my radio back to the primary set of presets, which I did. Of course, that meant changing to one of the primary-preset stations - the one which had been playing ZZ Top. Furthermore, they had to be playing something; and it just so happens that the something they were playing was the beginning of ...
... Already Gone
Lucky you! ;)
A couple months ago I was at the dentist and All She Wants to Do Is Dance came on. It was weird because I was thinking the words but my teeth hurt so bad because they were working on my braces. I was like all she wants to do is dance, ouch ouch! It was a weird moment.
I was in a local store last Monday night and 'Seven Bridges Road' came on over the PA.
Yesterday, I heard 'Take It To The Limit' on a friend's car radio and 'Take It Easy' over a PA in Goodwill. Then this morning, I heard 'Take It To The Limit', the moment I started the car and the radio came on.
The classic rock station here is called 'The Eagle 107' (GREAT name btw! :-o8) )and I've had my car radio set on it all week. It seems that since the announcement of them playing here in Nov came along, this station has been playing them so much I feel like I'm in a 70's time-warp. I hear 'Take It To The Limit' on a daily basis now as well as 'One Of These Nights'. Not that there's anything wrong with that. :)
Nice of the radio station to get everybody in the mood!
Your radio station is too cool playing those two songs!!! Love them!!! I might have to search for your radio station here soon Kim.
Turf, I play that game a lot!! My old XM radio had a feature that if a song by a group of your choosing played on any of their stations it would skip to it automatically. Loved that feature!
Today I was listening to SiriusXM 66 and switched off of it when they played a song I didn't like. I switched to 80's on 8 and after Genesis, they played Glenn's I Found Somebody!
This afternoon I was at Bed Bath & Beyond and after they played a Crossover Christian song I like they played Glenn's POMPOY!!!
So amazing they played that song!!! I have never heard that on the radio before!!! Amazing!!!
I have heard Hotel California three times already in Rhodes. (I've only been here two days!)
Cool Troub! Nice to know you're at a place that knows GREAT music!!
First song I heard on the radio this morning when I got in the car was LITFL! Thank goodness there were no police around because that song has a tendency to make me drive fast!
Take it Easy was on the radio today, it was a little 'warning' for everybody because it's really hot today (95 Fahrenheit / 35 Celsius).
Trying on clothes for the new school year
In the dressing room Best of My Love was playing then Pickin up the pieces by Average White Band
Was at the car garage today with my dad and Life's Been Good was on the radio in there! Nice!
Here in Atlanta we have a great Classic Rock Station, 97.1 The River. While driving today they had a trivia question, 'What was the title of a Crosby, Still and Nash song released in 1982?' When they finally introduced the song as Southern Cross, I was so surprised to hear they threw a shout out to TIMOTHY B. SMITH as providing backup vocals for this song. Since the DJ obviously knows who he is, maybe they will play my "5 @ 5" songs I submitted that all had Timothy singing lead or backup! I know this was not actually an Eagles song, but I can't remember every hearing Timothy's name on the radio here in Atlanta.
oh no don't say it...well I've seen it spelled wrong a million times...but never pronounced wrong...:machinegun::machinegun::machinegun:
