Henley Heaven (2009- June 2010)

While I love Don showing some gray, I don't think I'd want him to go ALL gray. I like it where he's got SOME color mixed with the gray. Kind of a salt and pepper look. lol When my sister and I were watching the awards show were he presented the Dixie Chicks with an award he was almost entirely gray (might even HAVE been entirely) and my sister gasped and said "wow has he aged." He didn't look bad at ALL, but I thought he looked a LOT older that way. However he had it in Chicago and Fargo....he looked perfect :D :thumbsup:

True, BUT....I'm sure he could afford to have a personal stylist travel with him to help with that. ;) Dang....maybe I should go to hair school. :hilarious:

lol! That's true that he can afford the best in hair care. I think Don's hair looks SO much better now than it did on Farewell 1. I hope they do a new DVD so he can show it off - and I hope the above is the look he sports for that DVD rather than the unnatural looking blondish color he sometimes has. That longer (but not too long) hair and stubble gives him an edge that says "Hey, I may be 60+, but I'm still a ROCK STAR."

I have to agree with you on this one. Probably one of the best I've seen too. Don going gray wouldn't be such a bad thing. The close up shot(mic and cymbal)Troub posted gives a little indication of what it would look like. His natural color would be nice instead of the blonde, would suit him nicely with passing age if he wishes to keep it colored.

I don't want my rock stars with gray hair, especially if they are also in an undertaker's suit. It makes them look OLD. C'mon guys, keep the dream alive ... rock stars belong in jeans with dyed hair!!! :lol:

I agree with Soda--I think he looks good in that awards show pic, dressed all in black with longer hair.
To me, he looks older in those Caddo Lake photos from this weekend, and that is why I chose not to post them here.

Oh I 100% agree that he looks older in the Caddo pics than the awards pic. For sure. And again....just in case anyone thinks I'm dissing my main man there....I didn't say he didn't look good.....just that the all gray hair made him look OLDER. lol That's it....just older. ;)

I get what Dreamer & Maleah are saying on principle - grey is not for everyone, and it often makes people look older - but some guys are lucky. They seem to come off as sexy and distinguished with naturally grey hair. Don is one of them. It's the rugged thing. The longer hair, the stubble... for me, it just works. (And if he was in jeans, too... :thud:)

I have to agree that the grey hair really suits Don! I do prefer it to his colored hair look! The grey looks more natural, and maybe that's because it is!:thumbsup:

I understand keeping the rock star edge but he can do that without trying to keep his hair from going gray. I prefer to stay natural personally, so naturally I prefer natural on anyone else. :)

Like I said before, Gray hair or not, he still is gorgeous.

Belated congrats on your borderversary, Troub! I can't believe that so many of you actually joined after I did (a year ago in July)! It seems like you have been here all along :). Thanks for all your posts Troub. You are indeed a valuable member of the board & are one of the main reasons the Border has me addicted. A certain Mr. Frey also has something to do with it, but that's beside the point ;).

Seeing him like this in person was beyond words. In this era for the Eagles, this is nearly perfection to me. Imo, it's one of the most HS&G moments Don has had on this tour.

That's the thing. If he's going to color it, why doesn't he do it dark brown like it used to be? They can even do "reverse" coloring, where they add gray to dark hair.

And no matter what he does to it, I'll still love him all the same. Well, unless he goes blond like Glenn did back in the 80's! :wink:

I missed the chance to post about this on tuesday Sept. 29 but it was that day 4 years ago that I first got to see Don and meet him in person. He gave a lecture about Caddo Lake and the Caddo Lake Institute at UNT in Denton, TX. It was one of the most incredible days ever. It was just amazing to see the man in the flesh. There was no singing but I was still very much mesmerized by his voice. I do wish that I would've been more prepared to meet him but that was a wonderful opportunity nonetheless. I didn't say much because I was so star struck but I at least managed to get an autograph and a picture. It was also the least amount of money that i've ever spent to see him. My ticket cost a total of $5. Imagine paying that price to see the Eagles (or even Don solo) in concert. I also got to meet DonFan at this event for the first time.

That truly was a wonderful day, Peek! I am still amazed by the fact that the stars aligned in such a way so that an Alabama journalist was lucky enough to receive a press assignment to travel to Texas on the day before Don was scheduled to give that lecture.
It is fabulous to see Don perform but it was very special to be able to meet and talk to him in that kind of setting. I'll never forget it.
