Note that he said the Eagles will "probably" get back together again but it was Glenn's call to end things. I like the word "probably" much better than "human jukebox".

ITA, jms.
Just saw this interview with Don....Interesting stuff
http://www.theguardian.com/music/201...rgue-backstage
Great interview - lots of interesting bits and pieces and ahem, revelations :heybaby:
....Mr Felder will not be too happy, me thinks ;-)
...and I must remember to try and keep my hands to myself if I ever meet Don and not scream and grab him and kiss him passionately!!!:hilarious: It'll be hard, I can tell you?
Great interview! Love this line:
"Felder wrote a nasty little tell-all, a low, cheap shot. I could write stuff about him that'd make your moustache curl"
:hilarious:
That's why I said in the other thread. Tell us how you really feel about Don Felder, Don. I think this is the first time I ever seen Don talk about Don Felder in an article and not be nice about him. I was actually surprise to see that in the article.
I'd love to hear it all, Don H!
I was about to post this one... lol
very interesting indeed
Wow, well at least Don let his opinion be known. Glad that he didn't sugarcoat it. In a way, I'm glad that neither Don nor Glenn have said too much about Felder negatively (apart from HOTE). Why stoop to his level for revenge?
I do hope Don (and of the other members write an autobiography). I'd like to know more about their upbringing and read cool little tidbits.
I agree. All DonF do in interviews is talked bad about Don and Glenn. IMO. Don and Glenn have been really been quiet about this while DonF is always brings it up in interviews because the journalists always bring it up and never have anything to ask other than the firing.
I wonder why that journalist bought that up in the interview with Don.
I tend to agree - it's a fair topic to ask about as long as the interviewer wasn't told in advance that it was off limits. I always figure that if there are specific questions that the interviewee doesn't want to discuss, then that is sorted out before the interview takes place. Since Don didn't decline to answer the question, I assume he was okay with it.
Here's an article talking about Don's hometown doing a ribbon cutting of a billboard of Don tomorrow afternoon. I get to see it later this month when I take a side way out of the way trip. LOL

Don Henley's Cass County is the number 1, best selling album on iTunes.

Here's an article from Guide Live. You also see Don without makeup. He's still a beautiful handsome guy.
A great interview. Some great stories. One of my favorites is about his new guitar player, Chris Holt. I like the fact that it all started with Don hiring him to Will how to play the guitar. The next thing you know, he was playing on the track of That Old Flame to now in his touring band. I bet he never thought he was play for Don.

Here's a review from Santa Barbara. The plaid shirt makes an appearance(LOL), but its a nice shirt. I like the green shirt.

Here's an article about the new young country artists Don likes. I'm not familiar with any of them, Jamey Johnson and Ashley Monroe, both of whom sang on Don's album.

I actually heard Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, on the radio, here in the UK, the same day I read the article. The DJ's compared him to Southside Johnny. I enjoyed the track they played. Promising in my opinion.
This may have been posted already. Apologies if so. Just a short piece:

Very true.

I agree and disagree with Don on that. Yes, there's so much more music available online, and a chunk of it, I won't like. However, there are music sites that give you recommendations based on what you like, last fm and Rate Your Music for examples. You scrobble(their term) music on last fm (Spotify, Itunes, Last fm itself etc) It creates a library of your scrobbled tracks, and gives you recs based on the genres you listen to. (Country, blues rock, thrash metal etc). With, Rate Your Music(RYM), you rate the music you listen to, from 0.5 stars (horrible) to 5.0 stars (top shelf). Like last fm, RYM gives you recs based on your ratings. I love both sites, and use them several times a week. (Think I've said this before)
I personally like looking for "new" music online. (New meaning new to me). I've discovered many amazing artists because of that, and I really haven't found any "bad" music. Radio nowadays doesn't cut it. Most of the songs I hear on the stations I listen to are ones that I've known for awhile. Most magazines are available to read online. Apart from word of mouth, which still works, using the Internet to find new music is the only platform that is worthwhile, imo.
Here's an article from the Tennesseean. Some of the special guest could be at the Nashville show which I'm not surprise.
I did some research on who could be there. Everybody (mostly everybody who had a duet with Don) has a show on the 17th, but the only person who can't make it is Vince Gill. He'll be in Indiana on the 18th.Quote:
“I imagine that several of the folks who played and sang on the album will be in attendance, so that will add a little extra pressure, as well. But, all things considered, we are looking forward to playing the new material in the town where most of it was recorded (and some of it written).”
So Martina, Merle, Trisha, Jamey, and Miranda could be there that night. I couldn't find any dates for Dolly. Now the question is who will show up.
It makes me even more excited about going! I can't wait!
Don was at a fundraiser this past Saturday. There's a photo of Don with the president of USC, but I can't find it.

How nice of Don to help raise money for the fight against cancer.
City Of Linden had a meeting on the 13th to talk about whether to take down the water tower or keep it. Well. This decided to keep it. So the water tower will be there for a very long time. Don is mention briefly. I know Don is happy about this.

For Farm Aid's 30th anniversary this year, Billboard talked to some of Willie Nelson's friends and asked them to talk abour him. Don was of the people interviewed.
http://m.billboard.com/entry/view/id/144035
I did not know that Don played in the inaugural Farm Aid concert - too cool!
Jack Johnson's new song about Willie made me laugh. I guess Willie really does have an unusual effect on people sometimes. :drunk:
Yes, NOLA. He sang The Boys Of Summer, Sunset Grill and A Month Of Sundays. All three are on YouTube, but some reason, you can't hear The Boys Of Summer that well. Its not muted, but the volume is bad.
He was also at Farm Aid in 1990, his last time. He sang The End OF The Innocence and The Heart Of The Matter.
Thank you so much, Shun! Loved the videos, and OMG, Don in long hair and a black leather motorcycle jacket in 1990!:drool::thud:
I didn't know about him playing there either until I read the article. I'll be searching for the videos on youtube in a little bit. :)
Here's an article that came out the same day as ACL.
http://www.classichitsandoldies.com/v2/67070/
I posted this in the CC thread, but since it talks about more than just Cass County, I thought that I would post it here as well.

This is a terrific article - very well written and no sensationalism! Not a lot new learned apart from the fact that Don likes to cook - is there anything this man can't do???:heart::heart:
I was also reading an article from the December issue (I know, it's not even November!) of Uncutand Don mentions that between 1978 and 2008 he donated $680,000 dollars to the Democratic party but never again. I also read somewhere else that he's not even going to support Hilary Clinton which is strange given the fact he's such good friends with Bill. But he reckons she's got too much baggage. Anyway, I thought all the info made his lyrics in No, thank you all the more pertinent...
....like a drunkard in the night,
swinging left and swinging right,
Republican or Democrat,
well I ain't got no love for none of the above,
I've been there, done that...
I'm sure the Democrats will miss him whatever about the Republicans!
I had a feeling that he liked to cook, because somewhere, floating around on the 'net, is Don's famous Texas chili recipe accompanied by an older photo of him sitting on a stovetop.
Yes, you read that right, sitting on top of an oven, but I'd forgive him for it!
Great article, AG! UTW also posted it in the "Future Eagles Projects" thread, so it has good exposure on this board. :)
Yes, I did know about the chili recipe but thought that might have been a 'once-off' and I remember the pose on the cooker but this article revealed that Don does all the grocery shopping when he's at home and cooks - so he's obviously more than a 'chili' man - lol.
(unfortunately I'd have to decline Don's chili as I suffer from acute acid reflux, but I might accept anything else he has to offer :heybaby:)
I didn't see that UTW had posted it in that thread until a little while ago. While the article doesn't contain much new info, it's one of the best ones I've read in a while.
I'm tempted to look for that photo of Don on the stove. I would have to pass on the chili as well. Not only do I have acid reflux(GERD), but I don't like chili at all.
Here's the recipe and photo. Who else would include a lecture about misnaming with a food recipe? (He also wouldn't be impressed by the chili con carne I cooked tonight!)
Thanks UTW. He wouldn't be impressed with my mom's chili either. (She wants beans in it.) Leave it to Don to include a lecture.. My uncle might like this recipe, especially the beer! Lol.
I  at that photo of Don. "Mr. Cool and hot at the same time".
