Thanks, UTW, for posting it. When the weather turns colder, I'll give his recipe a try. For me, a hot bowl of spicy chili is comfort food in the wintertime.
Anyway, it's cool that Don makes his own groceries. I can just picture him wandering the aisles while he's pushing a cart, like an "ordinary average guy."

Don threw a guy out for yelling "Don Felder" when introducing Steuart Smith....
I don't support the guy yelling it out. I'd choose a more subtle passive-aggressive approach if I were him - maybe wear a Felder tshirt in the front row/orchestra pit. ;) But really, I agree with his thoughts but he should have known Henley wouldn't have any of it. I would NOT want to be embarrased, no way I'd do that. Perhaps he doesn't know how the guys are about that stuff.
ETA: I have nothing against Steuart Smith and I think it was poor timing to yell it out. Stu is a fine player, even though a lot of us miss Felder. This guy just did it the wrong way at the wrong time.

Re: Don in the Press/Blogs/etc.

I can't say I blame Don, especially since the guy was not only disrupting the show, but also being incredibly rude to Steuart. It's kind of like those annoying people who have too much to drink. There's nothing wrong with liking Don F over Steuart, but don't show it in an obnoxious way. Since Don offered the guy a refund(in money and karma), I think it's ok.
I wonder if Glenn has heard about his "birthday gift".
ETA: This was a Henley solo show. Don Felder never played guitar in Don's solo band. Don had no Eagles songs in the set list and hasn't for the entire tour, so how could the guy justify shouting and carrying on about Felder? :headscratch: At an Eagles show or if Don had included some songs that Don F had played on, I could slightly understand point he had to make more. Just a person trying to get his 15 minutes of fame. Don's still probably laughing all the way to bank though ;).

Re: Don in the Press/Blogs/etc.

Poor Steuart. I think he will never ever get out of the shadows of Don F. This will follow him for the rest of his life as long as he in either Don's band or the Eagles. I like Steuart and he's a great guitar player. I feel bad for him. He had to be embarrass and hurt that somebody would do that. Its disrespectful to Steuart and definitely Don when you're yelling out a name that sued you for many years and disrupting his show.
I bet that guy wouldn't say that if he was at an Eagles concert. Oh wait. He probably would. There's bad blood with Don F and that's the one thing you don't ever want to yell out at either Don's or Glenn's show.

Thats just so random its hillarious, especially since that made henley go over the top. Haha

And not forgetting that when Henley invited Felder to play guitar on a solo tour, he was turned down, in part.
Kind of interesting for the insight it gives into current feelings towards Felder. They must love that Kennedy Awards petition!

Re: Don in the Press/Blogs/etc.

I think it's cool that Don offered to refund the guy's ticket fees, because I imagine that many performers would not be so generous after ejecting someone from a venue. It says a lot about the positive aspects of Don's character, when oftentimes, people prefer to focus on the negativity.

Especially since Don Felder openly endorsed that petition!
My main question with this whole thing is, why go to show, pay money for it, only to cause trouble? I just don't get that, other than doing it just for kicks.

I absolutely love that. You go, Don. And Steuart is a great guy & a great guitarist. He is himself, and I don't think he has any reason to think he is in Felder's shadow.

True, FP. He probably was at the beginning when he first joined, but probably not today. But of course their are some fans who still don't like Steuart and some people will always compare Steuart with Don F. I just don't think that will ever go away. Look what happened in Michigan. I still don't know why he would say that at Don's show.

Re: Don in the Press/Blogs/etc.

There's no excuse for such behavior. It doesn't accomplish anything except make pathetic losers feel important for about 10 seconds. "I let my anger at the fact that Don Felder was fired 15 years ago be known! I bet it made Don Henley and Steuart Smith feel real bad! YEAH I'M SO BADA$$!"
:puke:
I have nothing but contempt for such "men."
Don was actually nicer to this guy than I would have been. I wouldn't have given him a refund. I'd tell him, "It's the cost of heckling.... every jerk pays."

People do really stupid things at concerts, especially if drinking, & this was one of them. I hear all kinds of stories of the idiotic things people do at a show.
This guy was rude & out of line, but things like this happen all the time. It really doesn't surprise me. At least Don put him in his place. Most people get away with all kinds of crap & obnoxious behavior!

Love it Soda !! :applause:
And I love that Don did this - it just shows that he, along with some of us, are sick of all this Felder stuff and just wish that people would move on........
And I also love that he dedicated it to Glenn as his birthday present, great stuff!!

At a Don Henley show, where no Eagles songs at all were played, it is even more ridiculous to carry on about Felder, as Soda said.
The Michigan incident is precisely what we are discussing.
Glenn had to deal with a heckler at the AH Melbourne show I attended. He warned the guy he would be thrown out & that shut him up.

Don will be honoring Sam Moore next Saturday. This is something I would had loved to see.
I wonder what Don will sing. He could sing Don singing Soul Man, Hold on I’m Coming, or When Something is Wrong with My Baby.

Here's a phone interview Don did for WMMR in Philadelphia. He answered some good questions. He brings up his daughter is on tour doing his make up, getting dressing room ready and etc. He says she's having fun.
Also loved the story about his old famous boots he wears all the time. He's been wearing those boots for 40 years. Yikes!!! It was cool to know he's had a piece of clothing since the 70s and still in good shape other than it being stitch back together in some places.

Me too - Don is really very sentimental about his roots and family. His so-called haughtiness and arrogance is just misinterpreted by people who are not die-hard fans. Underneath it all, he's really still a shy country-boy at heart :heart::heart: who has a good soul.

I love the work boot story as well, just shows his softer side!! So Don, what ya gonna do with those boots ??
It would be so cool if he gave them to the Rock 'n Roll hall of fame, but I'd say they would end up in his mothers house on the shelf beside his Grammys - there is no way he's letting go of those boots!!

Don will be on the Howard Stein show next Tuesday. Oh boy. This is going to be very interesting. I hope Don gets ready with Howard going at him with some questions he might not like. Sad thing is this is on Sirius Radio. I won't get to listen to it since I used my free trial for the interview and concert with Bob Seiger.
