Re: Glenn in the Press/Blogs/etc.
I was confused about that, when I did the reading on it when the show was announced, they made it sound like it was two different entities. The interview this past week from the guy who heads the Event Center never mentioned the casino, which I found odd. Since the Event Center isn't open yet, they don't seem all that organized when it comes to publicity.
Anyway, wasn't it someone at MGM that said there was a minimum time limit there, not a max?
Re: Glenn in the Press/Blogs/etc.
I imagine there is both, but I can't find a source that says so specifically.
Like I said earlier, though, Glenn stating in the Rolling Stone interview that he might do up to seven new songs means he's either willing to do a lot less of the hits (which he told the interviewer he largely planned on keeping) or the show will be longer.
Perhaps indulging in such speculation is pointless... but it's also fun! Plus, since the discussion stems from the interview, it is also on topic. ;)
Re: Glenn in the Press/Blogs/etc.
Just got this in a Google Alert http://www.allaccess.com/net-news/ar...ssic-rock-vers, re an upcoming radio show hosted by Paul Schaffer.
Quote:
Here is the important part: This free two hour special saluting Rock Hall inductees past and is hosted by DAVID LETTERMAN's longtime musical director, PAUL SHAFFER, and will feature an exclusive interview with GLENN FREY, founding member of THE EAGLES.
In this brand new interview, FREY shares his fondest memories of playing with THE EAGLES for 40 years and looks back on the night in 1998 when he and THE EAGLES were inducted into THE ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME
.
Interested radio stations are asked to contact the station if interested. I'm in a big hurray so can't post or research more at the moment! Maybe somebody else can take a look if they want to know about it before I get back to look into it more.
Re: Glenn in the Press/Blogs/etc.
Interesting! Thanks for the info, Ann!
Re: Glenn in the Press/Blogs/etc.
It's very sad. It's just occurred to me that I have absolutely no idea what stations here in the DC area are Classic Rock to even look them up in a week or so and see if they are airing this interview! I guess I'll so a search and see what comes up. I should send an email to SiriusXM, it would be all around easier (for me) if they air it.
Re: Glenn in the Press/Blogs/etc.
I'm going to check it out BUT I'm glad it's a positive item because here is what appeared on The Huffington Post last week (with very specific mention of Glenn):

I don't know what my classic rock stations are either. I never listen to the radio anymore. I used to listen to it in the car but then I just started playing CDs and my iPod in the car. Listening to the iPod in the car on shuffle is like listening to a radio station that only plays songs I like, without commercials! lol
But yeah, I've got to try to find out who's broadcasting this show. Maybe it will be available for internet streaming.

I had a job where I traveled every week and the rental cars had satellite radio in them and I couldn't make the transition back to normal radio. Then of course, I found that XM broadcasts all the hockey games so I'm completely hooked.
BTW, Soda, I'm not sure when you're going to Atlanta or when you're leaving, but if the Pens are on... just sayin'. I already warned HH! It is the playoffs, after all.!
Re: Glenn in the Press/Blogs/etc.
Thanks for the heads up - I'll bring headphones. lol

I do the same thing now as well. I hardly ever listen to the radio anymore either, especially to listen to music. I go the iPod on shuffle route too.

That was my thought too. I hope it is available for us to listen online. The network is asking for stations interested in broadcasting the special to contact them, so we won't know yet all the stations that will air it. It isn't available until April 4th.
