I liked it when Stern asked about whether they'd ever considered having Linda Ronstadt in the band, and Don said they wanted to be a "boy band". That just tickles me.

I've only had time to listen to Part 2 that shun posted so far, but I thought it was a really good interview. I don't think I've ever listened to much Howard Stern before, but I liked it. Some interviewers are boring, he wasn't at all. Very upbeat and lively discussion.
Shun, is there a Part 1 somewhere that you can post?
I agree Brooke. I'm not a fan of the 'shock jock' stuff that Howard does, but this was a REALLY good interview. It's definitely worth listening to, IMO.
This is the better version but these links don't have the songs Don sang.

This link is not good. The audio slowed down, but have the songs Don sang.

I get what you're saying here, shun, but there is also a down side to posting the same information in multiple threads. You can end up with a discussion about the same topic spread over multiple threads that can make it difficult to follow or find the information later. Usually what we do if a question comes up in a thread about a certain topic is to redirect the poster by linking to the appropriate thread.
Yeah, I'm thinking I might have to consolidate all these posts into one thread so we can keep the conversation together. Maybe I can put them all into the Cass County press thread.
It probably work. When I do post articles and videos in that thread, it gets lost. I don't know if anybody still go in that thread. That's why I put the videos in the youtube thread and articles in the press. I'm just confuse.
When do we stop using the Cass County review thread? I'm guess he's still promoting Cass County while not touring.
It was about a lot more than Cass County and putting in a CC thread seems a bit limiting. I'll admit to skipping the CC threads.
I agree with UTW. There is only a small portion of the Howard Stern interview devoted to Cass County so it probably should stay in this thread or maybe even be given its own thread - the interview is more about the Eagles and Don's solo career.
I think here or the You Tube thread.
This is an archived link. Don had an hour radio slot on BBC Radio2 this past week & it's still active.
Love that voice!
Merry Christmas my friends!

It was actually yesterday. There were some interesting songs played. Everybody should listen to it.
Really enjoyed listening to his playlist and commentary. He has a wide range of taste in country music - good mix of old and new.
Don's speaking voice is so sexy - like dark melted chocolate :fainting:
I loved his song choice, very similar to my own taste. The only one I had never heard of was Matraca Berg and I loved Tricia Yearwood's version of her song, Dreaming Fields. Don is really such a softie revealing that this song reminds him of his dad and granddad and gives him tears in his eyes whenever he hears it.....major sigh :heart::heart:
Aw - I love hearing little things like that. It makes him even easier to relate to.
I heard on Sirius xm that Don will be on the Billy Joel station tonight (channel Eighteen) playing some of his favorite BJ songs.
"The SiriusXM channel will also include special guest DJ sessions, " Billy Joel Top Ten ", hosted by Joel's friends, including Garth Brooks and Don Henley playing their favorite Billy Joel songs."
(I didn't know where to put this so if this is the wrong place, please move!)
A guy who writes for my local newspaper picked his top 40 favorite rock/pop singers. He tied Don Henley with Eddie Vedder for #1. For proof of Don's singing voice, he said "The Last Resort".

I just love DH
He has a wonderful way of speaking and so smart too.
Here's an article about last night's event that Don was at honoring Jim Ed Norman in Nashville. I wonder if Don is going to stay in Nashville or fly back home and coming back for the event on Monday.

This was a nice surprise to see last night around 2:00 AM, wicked storms were blowing through.
I would imagine he would stay in Nashville since he would probably be back again on Sunday. I am sure he would want to rehearse the band since they haven't played together in awhile. I only noticed Steuart Smith there last night. I thought he sounded just fine.
When I was listening to the video, it sounded like they had a piano player there too. So I don't know if Michael or Will was there. The girls look new.
The ladies were most likely session players brought in just for this & possibly the weekend. I haven't seen/heard anything about him taking Cass County back on the road. It's almost March. If he is planning anything for the summer I would think tour dates would have to come out very soon. I think I bought mine in August for November.
He probably won't go back to touring until the summer or fall time. Now that I'm starting my new job next week, I'm definitely going to save to go to one of his shows whenever Don do go back on tour. I'm just worried he's going to retire sooner rather than much much much later down the road.
Well he is going to be 69. I can't see him totally retiring but then you never know. I sort of pictures him along the lines of Tony Bennett doing a few select dates every year. We can hope can't we!
I'd be shocked if Don retired based on his comments he made when promoting Cass County last fall. I would think he would tour some more for Cass County later this year; however, if he waits too long, it may not be promoted as a Cass County tour.
I think Don will have to spend a lot of time focusing on pending Eagles business now that Glenn would have normally dealt with. It's hard to say how much of his time that will require.
Thanks! I agree that he's probably staying in Nashville a few days due to his additional appearance on the 29th.
Yes. Don is essentially the sole custodian of the Eagles now. Azoff will help handle the nuts and bolts of the business aspects, of course, but the rest is on Don's shoulders.
However, I do think that he'll still bill a tour as Cass County even if it's as late as a year after the album's release. That's what Glenn did with his After Hours tour in Australia.
I can't stop thinking back to this incident last year.
Don's birthday present to Glenn. In hindsight, realising that Glenn was possibly in a coma at the time, it goes a long way in showing Don's tremendous respect for his musical brother.
Maybe his worries for Glenn also explains why Don dropped (I Like) Where I Am Now from his set list, halfway through the tour.

I hope re posting the link will help me "Get Over It"
That's a good though about "Where I Am Now". If you believe setlist.fm, he sang it last on 2nd Nov, dropping it from the 3rd Nov show. The postponement Kennedy Centre Honors was anounced on 4th Nov.
I saw on Facebook that Don will be playing at Hyde Park with Carol King on I think July 3rd. If anyone in England can confirm this????
I didn't even know he had dropped WIAN. I just re-read the lyrics & though it talks about self-destruction, Don may as well be proud that he is still here. He has nothing to be ashamed of. What happened is not his fault.
However I totally supported what he did in having that heckler removed, especially as we now know the reasoning behind it.
I don't know what to make of this. Feel free to start a new thread if required.

Don's Facebook page has posted about that VIP experience.

Don and Joe are on the list of what shows you should go see this summer.

Don's got a contest going on to get two tickets and meet him any show. Its not with chideo, but a website called Charitybuzz. You don't win a free trip. You have to pay your way there.

When you said contest, I thought it was something you could enter and win by luck. Unfortunately for me, this is an auction and you "win" by being the person willing to pay the most. It's up to $3500 as of today. Too rich for my blood.
