Excellent find, Lou. I've always really loved those lines from Already Gone.
I'm switching back and forth between The Border and FB right now and one of my friends just posted a pic of them self and the caption reads "Friday night in Royal Oak." I just got a double dose reminder with that one.
 I love it when that happens!
I just got off the telephone with my niece and I asked her what she was going to do tonight and she said she was "just going to take it easy because she had a dose of life in the fast lane last night". All this was for my benefit, of course, so I could be reminded about how cool she really is.
I am watching (half listening actually) a show on the DIY network entitled Man Cave. The guy thet they are creating a "man cave" for is a motorcycle enthusiast. They just broke for commercial before revealing the finished product to him by saying "we'll to show ?? what life in the fast lane is like.
I nearly forgot about this. I couple of weeks ago i had to attend a mandatory meeting for work and during this meeting they showed a short video about the upcoming additions to all of the casino's that are run by the Chickasaw tribe. Winstar World Casino, where Don did a concert in May 2009, is one of the tribes many gaming facilities. I was very sick on this day and was often dozing off during this meeting because I felt so horrible but I was briefly able to keep my eyes open during this video and for just a few seconds they showed a picture of Don when they were talking about all of the concerts they've had recently. I perked up a little after that but once the video was over I had to rest my eyes again.
This is the picture they showed on video.

Good choice of picture to show. :nahnah:
Okay, so Im thinkin if a "little" bit of Don can perk you up a little, total Don immersion might just be a cure for whatever ails you. I prescribe a few days of total Don immersion till you're feeling more yourself *G* AND Since Im also feeling poorly, a total Joe immersion is called for as well... and anyone else out there who is feeling bad, weak, poor, abused, or just blah, Pick an Eagle, or ALL of them and dive in head first!! *G*
Hey! I'm sick, too! Why didn't the doctor suggest total Don immersion to me? I want YOU to be my doctor, Ticky.
Hey I got a little bit of a tummy ache this morning - isn't sugar immersion good for that?
Well dreamer, be careful. The more Sugar you have, the more calories you'll have to burn. The workouts could get pretty vigorous.
I was working in the library tonight, and they had a singer come in and do some acoustic songs. Boy did my ears perk up when I heard him doing "Peaceful Easy Feeling", and it was a pretty good version!:) I was feeling kind of down about being at work, but hearing that song really cheered me up! I have to say, that is one song I NEVER get tired of hearing!:yay:
That's cool, Stars! There ya go! The guys music always makes me feel better and PEF is an alltime favorite! Kudos to the musician!
Wow Stars, I wish I worked in a place that allowed singers to perform. Maybe I'll suggest it at the bank! :hilarious:
Yeah PM - That would be totally awesome to have some live performances at my place of work too.
(Nevermind that I work from home.  )
Very cool!
Was listening to my iPod today and Warren Zevon's "French Inhaler" came on. I hadn't listened to that song closely in a long time, but when I'm listening to something in headphones the lyrics always sink in more. I did an aural double take when he sang "in this sleazy bedroom town." I wonder if that inspired Don's line from "Last Worthless Evening", even if a couple letters are different and the songs are over a decade apart?
Could be so Nancy I guess!
On Friday I was listening to the Sports News and they commented that Padraig Harrington, an Irish golfer was '7 off the lead in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro Am' Needless to say this reminded me of Glenn  and also a few Borderers. What a PITY Glenn  no longer plays this. It prompted me to read over the thread form 2008 where Nancy, Kay Molly and Kath went and had such a wonderful time!
Oh gosh, GA - you have reminded me how much I miss Pebble Beach. But, whenever I get sad about Glenn not playing it anymore, I just remind myself how lucky I am to have been able to go when I did. I just wish that more Borderers had been able to go with us though. I don't have time right now, but I'll have to read over the Pebble Beach threads and do a little reminiscing again soon. :smitten:
Yes, Dreamer, that really was a wonderful time for all of you. I remember being :jealous: , but seriously, I was amazed at how personable Glenn  was. His whole approach and demeanour was completely heartwarming. And I was so happy for all of you - what an amazing experience that will stay with you for the rest of your lives.
Earlier today I was watching the end of the film 'Working Girl' that I had recorded and there is a line where Alec Baldwin asks Melanie Griffiths 'how is life in the fast lane?'
An email I just received from an Avon rep. Got my attention! :hilarious:

Alright, I'll bite...what do ducks and eagles have to do with Avon? :eyebrow:
Not a thing-she's making a rather lame attempt at saying if you're a go getter (an eagle) you can be a good Avon rep. Not biting on it. I keep my Avon rep status for my personal discounts only.
Got it. (It is sort of lame though)
In my history of Ethics class we were talking about the stoics (a group of philosophers) the handout talked about how we shoudn't let things get to us and he always uses quotes to kind of help us understand and for this one the paper said "In the words of the Eagles 'Take It Easy'"
Cool teacher!
Checked my email a bit ago and instantly was drawn to an email from a friend of mine that had "Subject: Eagles". I had to print the screen to show you what it said.
Good to know when friends are talking about music/Eagles, they are reminded of me. :hilarious:
I of course answered her, with an array of pictures from when I discovered him to present day.

Keep 'em straight, Willie - keep 'em straight!
Good work, Willie!
Now Willie, I'm drawing a blank too - who's that Eagle you like so much? :nahnah:
I was reading a book and the woman in the story said she was "bopping" to the sound of "Witchy Woman".
I was working a cross word puzzle later and the clue was ____Eyes, song by the Eagles.
Did you figure it out AZ? ;)
Well, I did have to think about it, for a second or two.
My husband mentioned Los Lobos last night, and I thought of their version of "Hotel California", which featured in "The Big Lebowski". I always enjoyed hearing the song in Spanish, although I think parts were in English. I need to hear it again!:headbang:
Stopped at Borders with my daughter, VOL...it's a ritual when we go out shopping together. We were browsing and both of us spotted it at the same moment...a book entitled "Heart of the Matter". Given that it's a trade paperback romance novel, I seriously doubt there is any mention of our boys but we couldn't resist buying it simply because of the title.
