This is only about Kristin Chenoweth's thoughts and experiences with "The Heart of the Matter." It's a short article, and the 1st part is about when she first heard it and the 2nd part is how it resonated with her after Sandy Hook.
If this belongs in Eagles Mentions in the Press, sorry about that. I thought since it was a short article about someone's experiences w/ a Don solo song that it should go under this thread.
I got this email from google.
Don will present Clint Black an award at the Lone Star Film Festival next month. The festival is November 10-13. I don't know when Don will be there, but I'm guessing on the 10th because Lone Star Film Festival's website has the reception on the 10th.

I just got this google alert in my email. Don will be one of the performers to honor Tom Petty as MusiCares Person of the Year this coming February. I wonder what's the history between Tom Petty and Don. I know Tom has history with Felder, but I wonder how Don knows Tom.
If you want to go, tickets range between $1,750 to $8,500 and VIP packages for groups of 10 to 36, are priced between $17,500 and $150,000.

That's awesome Don's going to be a part of it and they got a great lineup of artists I love!!! :D First thing I thought of was Don maybe knowing Tom through Stevie as Stevie's known Tom since the late 70s.
You maybe right.
This probably is Don's first time being performer for a honoree. I don't think I read anyway that Don was part of a lineup for another honoree. His 10th year anniversary for his honor is next year.
So that means they will have a portion of the show of people honoring Tom Petty. I think they do a little tribute to honorees during the live show.
I forgot about Stan and Mike.
Tom and Don were also at the first Bridge School benefit in 1986. Tom was right after Don and there's a picture of all the performers on the internet too.
I think I posted this earlier, but Don will be presented Clint Black an award tonight at the 10th Annual Lone Star Film Festival in Ft. Worth. I hope their are some pictures online later.

Here's an article from last night at the Lone Star Film Festival.
http://www.star-telegram.com/news/lo...114084638.htmlQuote:
The recipient of this year’s Stephen Bruton Award, an honor bestowed on a musician with Texas ties, is country singer Clint Black, who was given the honor by Don Henley. Taking the stage to the strains of the Henley song Dirty Laundry, the former Eagle said of Black that “I admire this man for his dedication to his art and to his craft” as well as his charitable works and dedication to his family.

For his part, Black said Henley “had been such a huge influence on me” and that the song Desperado in particular had “great lyrics, great melody” and was also “instructive” with regard to life and love.

Thanks, Shun! I liked the little video clip in the article. Don's part is at around 1:41.

Heads up to everybody in Australia and New Zealand. Don will be interviewed the show Sunday Night this Sunday at 7:00pm. I hope we can see it outside of Australia.
Here's a little preview of the interview. I hope the link works. I had to copy the link from my phone since social media is blocked on my computer at work.

Here's the link to the website. I was able to view a video. So we are able to see the video once its posted.

Just a reminder. Don will be interviewed on Sunday Night tonight(of course that's right now in Australia since they are almost a day ahead.
Here's the interview from last night or today for us in the other parts of the world. Most of the clips are from HOTE documentary.

New video interview with Don.

I had to laugh at what Don's said that what Glenn saw was a hawk and not an eagle. lol Those darn peyote buttons. Like Don said, they were very high. Maybe it was good Glenn thought he saw an eagle because they would had been The Hawks than the Eagles.
OMG, I have never seen Don's eyes look bluer! Must be the blue plaid shirt! Love! And how hilarious that they could have been the Hawks! First time I've heard that one!
And I think I saw a tear in his eyes when talking about Glenn. I know I had some in mine. I'm sure he'll never get over it. You just have to move on. And Glenn would want him to.
Great interview! Thanks Austin!
I posted the link too, but I don't think nobody notice. :weep: Oh well.
I agree, Brooke. His eyes were soo blue. I just wanted to melt. I really thought Don was going to break down, but he hold back his emotions. I don't know how he does it. I guess they were all surprise when Glenn's health deteriorate so quickly. Like us, they probably thought Glenn will get better, but this time he didn't. His health was probably under control for years until probably last year.
The one about Hawks was new to me too. I think the name Eagles sound much better than the Hawks. I guess we could thank the peyote buttons for that hallucination of an eagle. They would had been the Hawks.
That's ok, Brooke. I just looked back my link. It was in 3 parts with a transcript of the interview. I thought I posted the whole thing, but I posted the broken up links with transcript. So that was my fault.
That is so funny about The Hawks!!! LOL :D Very emotional him talking about Glenn too. And love how blue Don's eyes are too in it.
I had to laugh at the part when Don would go into a restaurant and the people would play his song and he would tell them to please shut it off. Poor guy.
On one note. Don, Don, Don. Why didn't you invited Jewel to be your special guest for your southern dates in January instead of a certain guy. I wouldn't mind listening to Jewel for what. 45 to an hour. I had enough of him when he was the special guest with Joe this past summer.
I love that blue shirt. I kinda miss those plaid shirts. I like the vest and jeans, but I miss the plaid shirts he always wore with the Eagles.
Maybe it was a subconscious decision. ;-) There was already a band called the Hawks (with Levon Helm on vocals, no less).

Don will be on CBS This Morning sometime this week I think to talk about KCH.
When I get home from church, I will check my guide to see when its coming on.
eta: It's coming on November 30th, but still be on the lookout just in case it doesn't come on on the 30th, but he will be on this week.
I usually watch CBS This Morning so that will be great to see Don on there. :D
I will have to change channels, but will definitely set my dvr!
Me too!
I just saw on Facebook that Don's interview is push back to this Monday, December 5th. I'm definitely going to set my Dvr when I get home.
Thanks for the heads up, Shun! I fast-forwarded my recording of the episode today and saw no sign of Don. Good to know that he'll hopefully show up on Monday!
Yes thanks, Shun. I've been recording it too. I'll reset the PVR & I won't have to bother fast forwarding through today's and tomorrow's episodes.
Thanks for the headsup Shun!
Here's a new interview from a NZ site. It covers much the same grounds as his recent australian one, but still good.

Thanks, UTW, for the article!
Considering Don's feelings on Trump, I sort of hope that it inspires more music. He criticized Reagan in the TEOTI album, and I think that some songs from LROOE criticized the Iraq War, like the title track. Angry, old liberal Don w/ a dash of cynicism, please!
Note: I don't mean old as in his age. I mean old as in what the old left is (baby boomer values), not the new left of today's youth and their values.
OK. If no big event or stories don't happen from until Thursday. Don's interview is definitely coming on on Thursday, December 8th. I just checked my guide and his name pops up.
So scratch Monday and set your DVR for Thursday.
I caught a clip of CBS This Morning just as I was leaving for work and it talked about the KCH and showed a clip or two.
The guide listed that James Taylor was on, but I dvr'd it just in case. Will watch it this evening.
