Actually, Brooke, I forgot to mention that part - but I do, in fact, fully intend to remedy the situation where my sister does not have any Eagles CDs in her car.
I was getting ready to leave work about 20 minutes early yesterday morning (I work nights, ugh) and my supervisor said if I want to finish out my shift I could stay and clean the blackjack tables. Just as I was about to pass on the offer and go on home, I heard a familiar tune start playing over the speakers. It was Hotel California. I smiled and told him that I would now be happy to stay and help clean.
Ahh what a dedicated worker you are.:hilarious: I would have stayed too.
The Long Run on the radio today!
I was pleasantly surprised to hear Last Worthless Evening last night on our local classic rock station 96.9 the Eagle. I know it's not an Eagles song but still an unexpected surprise non-the-less.
I've been annoying mom by playing OTB and Eagles LP Nonstop two days in the row, while in the car :hilarious:
Everytim we go into the 99 cents store play Don Henley usually The Heart of the Matter but today it was Last Worthless Evening. I love that store.
Yesterday, hubby and I were coming back from a trip to the store and I had been playing an Eagles cd (duh!) and I told him I was sure he was probably getting tired of it so changed the mode to FM and guess what? My radio station was just starting a block of 3 Eagles songs! I started laughing hysterically and he just did what he always does, rolled the eyes and shook his head. This seems to be an ongoing thing every weekend while we are running around. :hilarious:
:hilarious: I think the universe is trying to tell Larry something!
(C'mon Larry, don't fight it!)
Today on the way to the work I heard Boys of Summer on the radio!
I heard "The One You Love" at work on Thursday! I heard the sax solo and I stopped talking mid conversation.....my assistant manager was like ????what???? lol I said I know this song!
Last night on the show Cold Case I heard Witchy Woman!!! Unfortunately it was during a rape scene.. ugh.. it was a really scary show last night!
Darn it, how did I miss that! I thought I caught most of cold case last night. Bummer :(
Was at the Vets office this morning and heard One Of These Nights. Unfortunately, I don't think it cheered the cat up as much as me ;)
not heard but seen. :stunned:
Today I have seen by accident an episode from Nash Bridges it was the episode in there Genn played Inspector Phil Robbins. :partytime:
I heard What Do I Do With My Heart yesterday in the grocery store and I was sort of whispering along with the song. When I am in the car you can hear a song by the Eagles about every 10 minutes. This just makes my day;especially when my cds are at home. Since seeing them in Indianapolis in march, not a day goes by that I dont play one of my cds or my dvd of Farewell 1. I just bought a dvd of 2 hours of interviews of the guys from amazon for 10.00. This is worth buying for all eagles fans. And I have to say that the 3 hour show in March is the best concert I have ever seen; hope they make a dvd of this tour. I am going to play some video before the night is over. Love Those Eagles! Ps: I am 62 and rarely listen to today's music.
Since he was the man of the day at Hard Rock Resort Thursday I expected to hear something while there but not Not Enough Love In The World. I heard this when I came out of the casino/hotel door.
Today I saw a broadcasting about exchange students, Hotel California was to hear.
I was in the supermarket this afternoon and heard "Best of My Love". All I could think of was what Don said about not liking the arrangement, and we figured that's why the Eagles don't do that song in concert. However, that took nothing away from my enjoyment of hearing that song, as it's one of my favorites. What a treat to hear it unexpectedly like that!
Went out for pie last night with some girlfriends and while we were placing our orders, I heard What Do I Do With My Heart. After a few moments of embarrassing commentary, the waitress asked which album the song was from. It's a good thing I was there to inform her!
I do that too. Hear a song and tell anyone within earshot something about the song/artist. People just look and say "uh huh" or "really" as if I don't notice their lack of interest.
More than usual unexpectedly they've been playing Last Worthless Evening on my favorite local radio station. Actually I don't think they played it at all until recently. I've heard it at least 4 times in the past couple weeks. :)
Saturday morning I wanted to go get my Mom and take her to the cematary to decorate my Dad's grave (she hasn't been able to go there in almost a year because that's when she got so sick and was in and out of hospitals--she is now walking with a cane and able to get around so we thought we'd give it a shot). I had to borrow my son's car because I knew she wouldn't be able to get in and out of our SUV. Anyways, we discovered a new radio station. Apparently my son has been listening to this station for months--Oldies 94.3--Yup--My 18 year old listens to an OLDIES station--I'm so proud! We immediately came home and stuck it on every radio we have and have heard everything from Temptations to Donna Summer, from Frank Sinatra to Nancy Sinatra and everything from KC & The Sunshine Band to the Eagles. They play everything, motown, rock, classic rock, rat pack, 70's and 80's. It's great and a lot of Eagles.
Told Nancy on the phone yesterday, all weekend they had been running a contest where they would ask a trivia question and the 11th caller to answer would win a brand new vinyl copy of Hotel California. Sometimes the questions were Eagle related and sometimes they weren't (which I didn't get). I tried often (tho, my family can't figure out why because I already own about 4 vinyl copies of it) but the closest I ever got was 9th caller.
Wow! Cool radio station, TBF, and even cooler that your parenting skills are proving to be exemplary.
Sounds like a great radio station!! And I'm so glad your mom can get to your dads grave again. I know lots of elderly people who get quite upset when they can no longer visit the graves of their loved ones.
Just heard "I Can't Tell You Why" at the supermarket!
I *kinda* heard Rocky Mountain Way this morning. Im crazy about this author and series of books, Tim Dorsey and the Serge Storm series. The latest is Nuclear Jellyfish and Im listening to the audio book. They are VERY funny, about a crazy guy named Serge Storm who travels around Florida with is best friend Colman, who's a drug addict/Alcoholic. They're currently driving around Florida in a two tone Javelin and listening to the radio on scan. Rocky Mountain Way came on for a brief moment. *G* Made me smile.
Okay, same audiobook as above, now has a hotel called The Last Resort!!!!! think I need to communicate with Mr. Dorsey!!
earlier this week i was at 6 flags, one of the rides closed down for a few minutes when i was in the next group to go, while i was waiting they played you belong to the city, i started singing along and a few people gave me weird looks:blush:. earlier when i was in line i thought i heard poco's go and say goodbye but i was kinda far away from the source and it was really hard to hear, so i could be wrong about that one.
On the way to work I heard Smugglers Blues and a few hours later TIE was on the radio. Not bad for a morning.
Not bad at all either of you!
I am very proud of our Eagle radio station. While at work I turned it on at precisely around 9:30am yesterday and just about every hour&1/2 they had an Eagles song on. They play Eagles all the time but for some reason alot more than usual even for this station. TS, HC, ICTYW, TIE, AG, within 7hrs time. They must've finally played all of them because at around 7pm I turned it on again and TS was on again. :)
Last Wednesday I was sitting in my car on the parkinglot of a shop waiting for Don finish EOTI on the radio when I recognized a young man sitting in his car right in front of me. His lips were moving, he was alone in the car and as I watched him a little closer (he was NOT ugly *gg*) I realized that he was singing "such a fine sight to see".
Okay....I turned off Don and on my usb-stick with TIE, winded down my window and turned the volume on the max. :hilarious:
He started laughing....we had a nice chat later in the shop. He told me that he only has Eagles CDs in his car and his girl friend was tired of listening to them. He asked me if I knew that they are in Vienna next week. OF COURSE! I will be there too.
That was really funny :partytime:
Tessa, that's classic! Gotta love moments like that.
I agree - that is a great story, Tessa. Hope you get to meet up with him again at the concert. I know you must be getting really excited. Please come back and share some stuff with us after the show!
I was watching a TV program earlier called 'Athletes Do The Funniest Things' (shut up, I was bored!) and they played a decent snippet of Life In The Fast Lane at one point.
A few days ago, my cousin was watching tv and channel surfing while I was kicked back on the couch reading a magazine about the latest celebrity gossip when i heard End of the Innocence. "Wait, turn it back!!!" I didn't mean to yell that at her but I got all excited thinking that Don was on tv. I'm not sure which tv show it was, maybe Law and Order or one of those shows like it, but it was right at the end of the episode and it was a funeral scene. That's all I saw but it was enough for me to be able to hear a little bit of the song.
Gotta love those spontaneous Eagles fixes........
End of the Innocense was used at the end of a "Cold Case" episode...I had the same reaction: DON'T TOUCH THAT REMOTE!!!!
