I was reading this thread again and their was a question about who would we like to see Don sing with. It was between Bruce and David. I had picked David. Too bad that's not going to happen now.:weep:

No, I guess not shun unless there is a recording of Don and David tucked away in a vault that will be released one day. Doubtful, but never say never.
And in answer to your question ...
I absolutely love both songs - they are perfect bookends for an album. However, my favorite has to be the reprise.

Great lyrics: "It's a girl, my Lord, in a flatbed ford" or "the doctor says he's coming, but you gotta pay him cash"?
Well since Take It Easy is my favorite Eagles song it has to be it's a girl my lord in a flatbed ford!
How about soulfull songs: Desperado or Wasted Time?
Wasted Time. Lyrical intensity highlighted by Don's emotion-packed vocals.

Songs of nostalgia : Saturday Night or Ol' 55?
I adore both but I'll say Saturday Night: I love the sentimental, nostalgic lyrics and the harmonies that deliver them. It's also the only Eagles song that has credits to all members of the band (at that time!).

Bernie's Eagles leads: Train Leaves Here This Morning or Earlybird?
TLR! Welcome back!
I thought SN wa the ONLY Eagles song that had a writing credit for all members of the band?
To answer yours - Train Leaves Here This Morning which I had the privilege of seeing live nearly a year ago.
----------------------------------
Musical introductions: the chord at the start of Take It Easy or the bass line at the start of One Of These Nights?
Thank you! :D
SN is indeed the only song with that accolade, sorry if I didn't word that clearly. Glenn mentioned it passively in the HOTE tour I believe.
As much as I've grown to love OOTN, it has to be the opening chords to Take It Easy, makes me smile every time I hear it.

TBS's concert staple - I Can't Tell You Why or Love Will Keep Us Alive?
I love 'em both but have to go with Take It Easy. I recognize the song the moment I hear that first chord and it always brings a big smile to my face.
ETA: I guess TLR and I were answering at the same time - funny how we both mentioned the smile. For his question, I'm going with I Can't Tell You Why.

Favorite album: Desperado or Long Road Out of Eden?
Desperado - I really like every track and it's my second favourite Eagles album, as well as being one of my absolute favourites overall.

New songs from Hell Freezes Over: The Girl From Yesterday or Learn To Be Still (I've paired these two as I think they seem to get less attention than GOI or LWKUA)
The Girl from Yesterday for sure!

Best "We're in love but miserable" song: Best of My Love or I Can't Tell You Why
