That's cute.
Twice today I've heard the line "you are not alone" and it's reminded me of the Eagles!
This morning in an advertisement on tv for marriage counseling and then later in the soap The Young and the Restless. Couldn't help but think of the song each time!
It's not exactly a "little reminder", but thought I'd mention that I picked up the Soul Searchin' CD at my local used record store today and am making my way through it during my commuting time. So far I like it better than I thought I would. I'm finding that I like Glenn's album tracks better than his hits. My favorite so far is "Let's Pretend We're Still In Love". It's so sweet!
I also picked up No Fun Aloud on vinyl and will have to try it out on my new USB turntable. That will have to wait for the weekend.
Thanks to the Survivor players for sparking my desire to buy more Glenn music!
That's what I like to hear! I bet you will love No Fun Aloud even more than Soul Searchin'! Heck, soon you'll be able to vote in Survivor!
Last night on an old episode of Law & Order, one of the attorney's said he'd do something "in a New York minute", Larry & I both started singing it. :hilarious: I'm so proud when he does things like that.
You have trained him well, Willie!
Good for you, WE! :applause:
I agree with Soda, you will probably like No Fun Aloud even better, but you never know. As we all know, even Eagles fans taste can vary alot. But, I do like the Soul Searchin' album. Although, it's not one of my personal favorites, Let's Pretend We're Still In Love is a fun, pleasant song. The bridge is my favorite part!
I am planning to plant some roses in my tiny front garden, and was researching varieties. I found this beauty searching for roses with exceptional fragrance...

... and had to smile when I saw the varietal name is "Fryaffair". Well of COURSE I thought of Glenn, even if it's not spelled correctly.

Beautiful!
It's amazing the lengths we go to to be reminded of our guys, isn't it?!
I listened to SS album a lot just after I bought it a few years ago. There ARE quite a few gems on it. I love LPWSIL too, and CPOTF, as well as I Did It For Your Love. Maybe we should discuss this album a bit more when we've finished the survivor.
I was driving down the M6 in England on Monday heading back to Manchester when I noticed a car in the right hand lane registered S 555 PGW. I had a private giggle at that!
Just saw a report on the local news about why big acts don't come to Memphis and that we shouldn't expect them to anytime soon. This made me think of the Eagles... With dismay!
The news report pointed out that although Memphis is one of the birthplaces of rock'n'roll, it all comes down to money. Memphis has relatively high tax rates and it's "barely a top 50 market" in terms of ticket sales. This is not a wealthy town; perhaps that's why Memphis is best known for its blues music, lol. It's simply not as big a payday as other places.
The report concluded with, "That is why Memphis, despite being known for its music, is passed over by the big acts again and again."
:sigh:
Maybe it is farther off of the travel path?
I hear ya. I really have no right to complain. They're still coming within a few hours' drive of me. I know that's often not the case for those outside of the States.
You could have the right to complain. I don't think that bands are touring the same map that they toured when they were younger. Too much travel, and too much fatigue for the players. This does have its disappointments for the fans.
Just pulled up my FB and saw that one of my nieces mentioned me in her status update so I clicked to see it. Seems she's going to be in Vegas the same time as our boys and is trying to talk her hubby into tickets and said "come on Aunt Willie, you need to come too". Told her I will haunt her if she doesn't go and she will be taking $$ with her from me for some treasures.
As I type this, Already Gone just came on the radio!!!
I'm watching the Buffalo Sabres crush my Penguins. The game is in Buffalo and Fallsview Casino is one of the sponsors. So every time the logo is on the screen, I think of Glenn. Doesn't really help me ignore the fact that we're losing 6-2.
It's a sign! She must go!
Aw. Hope your team pulls through!
Watching The Bodyguard last night, I saw the guy who played the lead in Arli$$ playing the host of the Oscars. Of course that made me think of Glenn's guest role on the series.
Poor Penguins! Did they pull it off in the end? We are partial to penguins in this house (not cooked, I must clarify!)
Since I found Glenn Frey Online, I'll never hear Joni Mitchell's "Help Me" again without thinking of Glenn. The radio station I stream at work plays it quite often.
I heard on the radio this morning that Southwest will start offering nonstop flights from Manchester, NH to Las Vegas this spring. Of course, my first thought was, "Maybe I'll get to a show after all, even if the guys don't come East."
This is really, really corny, but it did remind me of Glenn.
I subscribe to FourFourTwo, a football (soccer) magazine. The editorial headline in the March issue read 'the look of love is in Jose's eyes' (referring to Real Madrid manager, the rather suave Jose Mourinho) because the issue was coming out in time for Valentine's Day. I won't explain that further, but I was instantly transported back to Niagara Falls.
No explanation needed FP. I understand entirely. This time 26 weeks ago.......:heart::heart:
Hey, whatever it takes!
That certainly reminded me of Niagara Falls as I was reading it, FP! :sigh:
SOOOOOO true! Imagine knowing him back then? I'd say even kryptonite would not have brought him down!
Yeah, I don't think he was exactly ready for commitment then. ;)
I've been sitting up waiting for my Sugar to show
I've been listening to the sirens and the radio
He said he'd be over three hours ago
I've been waitin' for his car on the hill
Wonder how long Joni waited for his car on a hill before she said "Screw this! I don't care how sexy and charming and talented he is - it's over!" :steviesmack: <--- we need one of these with Glenn's 70s hairdo lol
We have a toll road plaza close by that has a McDonald's, Dairy Queen a couple other shops in. A lot of the high school & college kids work there including one of my daughter's best friends. The McDonald's is having a McIdol contest for the next several weeks which my daughter's friend is one of the judges at. Katie went out last night to check it out. I received a text from her saying: "Some older guy is ROCKING 7 Bridges Road right now".
Love it!
This not only reminds me of the Eagles, but of everyone here on this message board! This is a restaurant in Portland, Me.

Very cool, GL. I wish we had one of those in my town. I have a feeling I'd be a regular. I remember when Soda and I were making plans for the Fallsview trip last August, we checked to see if there was an On the Border in Niagara Falls or Toronto. We thought it would be neat if the group went to one for lunch or dinner in honor of how we all came together, but we couldn't find one.
