Well, I'm going to bed now - hoping to wake up to even more goodies tomorrow!
Love the Getty photos! Lots of pics on the Red Carpet too!!!
Much better than that first shot we saw!!
A close-up from the Q&A:

Another Billboard article with a picture that shows them signing the guitar. It's an interview with Glenn and Don and offers some nice insight to the project.

Interesting comment from Glenn, saw it in a tweet. Not sure if it was from the Q&A or the movie.
"It was really the band outgrowing some of the people who were in it." -- Glenn Frey. #Eagles #Sundance
I may not get anything else done today as I get through all these posts and look at all the photos, tweets, etc.... WOW!!!
Thank you Getty Images!!!!
And thanks Soda, VA and everyone else that were so diligent last night in getting this stuff posted asap for everyone!!! :applause:
Still more keeps coming out! This is an article that summarizes the official Q&A that took place. Our guys really crack me up...

I'm living in these two threads today! lol
Love the picture with that article!! Joe and the hotel room stories! He really needs to write a book. Can you imagine?
Joe's quote about putting his entire room on the ceiling - LOL! I love that "despite himself", Don was cracking up at that.
And Glenn's "It's hard enough playing these songs at sea level, bro" was very quick! Oh, to have been there.
Another article with interesting pictures. From a Canadian newspaper, and only talks 'Showtime'.

Love it!!!

Timothy looks as if he's about to punch Joe!!! :hilarious:
I wonder if they actually approach the subject of the 3E parties they had and the DRUGS? That should be really interesting. I am really curious to see how they get into this & how much they actually reveal. I just hope it isn't just glossed over like it didn't happen. I guess we will find out soon.
haha! See this link. It's an actual review of Part 1
http://www.spin.com/#blogs/history-e...medium=twitter
In one of the articles I posted last night, the AP reporter spelled Glenn as 'Glen'. She since went back in and corrected it, and thanked me very nicely for letting her know. All reporters should be that nice!
Another photo of the Q&A

Another tweet from someone who saw the movie...
#eagles | The History of The Eagles was the most awesome documentary. I hope it wins a Sundance award.
I want to know how the guitar auction is going...anyone know where you go to find it...I saw something that it's on Ebay but I can't find it on there...hmm?
Oh my gosh, footage of the 3E parties? No wonder the venue is Showtime....Quote:

OMG - I've been reading through this thread with sheer excitement, but also with much regret that I didn't take the risk and go out to Utah to try to get in to see this. But, I can't change that now, so I'm just gonna focus on the exciting part. I can hardly wait to see this now.
I'm sure that some of the film will be repetitive for hardcore Eagles fans since we are very familiar with their history already, but to see all the new footage and interviews is going to be awesome. I'm very glad to hear that the band choose to have the story told from an objective lens. As always, they won't please everyone, but I'm mainly hoping for a fair, objective, and honest story. Of course, three hours isn't a long time to tell all of the details of a seven-member band with a 40+ year old history, but I'm looking forward to seeing a truthful representation of their experiences.
I know what you mean about making the trip! After spending a lot of $$$ on non-transferrable VIP tickets and airfare to Vegas, with the country about to dangle off a fiscal cliff, I couldn't risk the money to go to this. That doesn't even account for being squashed in a plane full of people who have the flu! So..I live vicariously through the tweets of others.
This article says Part 1 is over two hours? So maybe more than three hours total. This is a review of the movie, it also talks about the event itself, and discusses some of the other movies there.

It was expensive and risky and so I didn't do it, but I majorly regret my decision now. In fact, this is pretty much the only Eagles event since I became a fan in 2005 that I am truly upset at missing (as opposed to just a bit disappointed).
Here is an interesting quote from the article that you just posted, VA.
I guess it's always a challenge for a filmmaker to strike the right balance between glossing over some things vs. dwelling on them. As I said before, you can't please all the people all the time, but I'm just hoping for even-handedness. It doesn't seem like they wanted the entire film to be a salacious soap opera, and, speaking for myself, that's fine by me. :thumbsup:Quote:
The Eagles' story is rife with infighting and ego and excess, and Ellwood and producer Alex Gibney don't shy away from this side of the story. But neither do they put much emphasis on it; in truth, you'd get more of a sense of the role substance abuse played by listening to the band members talk after the screening than by watching the movie.
IMO, what exposure these guys have gotten to date has all been about the conflict and excess of drug and alcohol, so maybe they thought most people already knew about that and wanted to spend more time focusing on something else. Plus, no one in these articles has seen part 2, and the director did say that it featured Joe. Perhaps they go into some of the excesses of the past there.
Soda - I hear ya, girl! I majorly regret my decision too. But, as I said, I'm gonna try to focus on the positive and not dwell on my disappointment though. But, I have a sneaky feeling, this is one of those events that I'll look back on 5 years from now and still regret that I missed it. :weep:
I might regret it at some point, but I honestly think I'll look back at this later and be very comfortable with my decision. I would have liked to have been there, especially the Q&A and hear and see things first-hand, but with a tour coming 'soon' and even a Seger tour on the horizon, I feel my money is better spent by not going. This way, I get to see it for the first time with some really good friends, and I only have to wait 24 hours to see Part 2!. Mostly what swayed me was the thought of weather related travel delays forcing me to eat a very expensive ticket. Then again, it's 63 and sunny out there at the moment.
Maybe I'll feel better about my decision after some time has passed. Right now, though, in the intense excitement of the moment, the several hundred dollars I saved is looking pretty paltry.
That said, one can't live life in regret. I'll put the money to good use. ;)
I find it hard to load Getty & of course the photos all have watermarks. I hope others show up soon. I see a couple of Glenn which are nice but I can't view the larger images.
ETA: Managed to view them.
NB the Billboard article makes it clear that Glenn talked about recruiting Alex Gibney so as GL said, the other article mixed Glenn & Don up. Glenn apparently did most of the talking. That is to be expected.
Just asking here, but I thought Soda would know. Is there any footage of Stevie singing with Dave Grohl? I heard she performed with him on Fri night?and that she appears in his film Sound City.
Yes, there's several videos. I'll post links in the Stevie thread over in "Singing for the Sake of the Song" in a little bit - right now I'm doing some more screenshots. She was fabulous. Another reason I should have gone...
Yeah, but Stevie wasn't announced to be there until a week or so ago. Plane ticket prices were really high; it would have put the cost of the trip over $1000... but man!!!!!!!! I regret it!!!!!
Apologies if this has been posted. A couple of these photos are VERY NICE. :fainting:
