In celebration of The Long Run album hitting #1 on this day in 1979, I thought I'd post a couple of photos from the era. I still can't get over the transformation here - made me better understand the caterpillar/butterfly thing back in the day. :thumbsup:

Oh my gosh! This is a great photo and I never knew it! I'm seriously gonna buy that DVD.
And I have no idea who that guy is, either. Good-looking, isn't he?
ETA: Jackson Browne, JD Souther, and Glenn all have the Desperado photo shoot facial hair going on. Wonder if he's affiliated with that somehow?

Could it be Dan Fogelberg?
I actually thought of Dan too (the lips) but I don't think so.
I thought of Fogelberg too. The mouth looks like Fogelberg but nothing else does.
I thought of Dan too, but felt exactly the same way Brooke did. However, I went over to his official site, and was surprised to find a couple of pictures of young Dan that I thought resemble this one ...

I honestly don't remember Dan looking like this, so it could be him although I'm still not sure.
ETA: That is too funny - wc and I apparently posting at the same time and linked to the same picture.
Looking at the other guys I'd say the picture was from either 1972 or 1973. I don't think they met Dan until 1974. Plus the eyes don't look like Dan, not to me anyway.
ETA: Yeah I noticed we linked to the same pic :thumbsup:
although this one is a lot later, I do think there are similarities

I agree its not David. I've looked up every Eagles associate I could think of and none of them looked like our mystery man. I even pulled up a list of all the artists who were on the asylum record label and checked out all the ones who were on the label in the early seventies and I've still got nothing.Quote:
