Re: This or That: Eagles
I love Glenn's vocal on Out Of Control, but I think it has to be Heartache Tonight. He absolutely nailed that one! :singer: Glenn was too modest about his abilities as a rock and roll singer, as HT proves decisively, his voice was easily strong enough to stand out above loud guitars.

Bass parts on The Long Run album: Title track or Those Shoes?
-
Re: This or That: Eagles
Title track. Nothing fancy, but the bass line does exactly what it is supposed to do in terms of supporting the song. It chugs along nicely and has some McCartney style rising lines at the end of the verse. The bass line for Those Shoes isn't bad, but the song needs more in pretty much all areas apart from the talkbox guitars (which for me are the only highlight), and the bass line is one of those areas, I think.

Well known song intros: One Of These Nights, or Hotel California?
-
Re: This or That: Eagles
HC, but I'd go with the "Eagles Live" electric intro--It provides a decent template for how an all-electric band should play the song.

Speaking of EL, of the officially sanctioned live albums(omitting Beacon Theater and Houston), which one is better: "Eagles Live" or "He// Freezes Over"?
-
Re: This or That: Eagles
I barely think of HFO as a live album, mainly because there are so many slow ballads, some studio recordings and because one member is so dominant. I haven't listened to Eagles Live for a long time but at least it sounds like a rock band playing live.

Glenn's R&B influenced solo songs: I Found Somebody or True Love?
-
Re: This or That: Eagles
That's tough for me to pick, since I like both songs a lot. I'd have to go with I Found Somebody. Although I like the "wells" at the beginning of True Love, especially in the GF Live version, I just like I Found Somebody a little bit more as a whole. I like the slower sound of the song. It really is more of a tie for me though.

Reggae-ish sounding Don Henley songs: Little Tin God or The Unclouded Day?
-
Re: This or That: Eagles
I'm gonna go with The Uncloudy Day. I love that song from I Can't Stand Still.

Tracks from Glenn's After Hours: After Hours or Here's to Life.
-
Re: This or That: Eagles
After Hours, for sure. It's relaxing and soothing; plus Glenn co-wrote it. I like Glenn's voice and the sentiment in Here's to Life, but that kind of music really isn't my cup of tea.

Don's singing/drumming combo: Witchy Woman or Hotel California?
-
Re: This or That: Eagles
I'll go for Hotel California - for one thing I love the drums in the final verse after he sings 'they just can't kill the beast'. Also, Don does sing most of HC by himself, whereas he has more 'help' in terms of backing vocals from the other Eagles on WW. Having said this, I think the HOTE version of Witchy Woman in particular was a very impressive performance.
