He said "yeah, his voice sounds just like your Eagle", making the same hand motion. :hilarious::hilarious: Love how they're MY Steeler & MY Eagle. He was obviously talking about Troy being as soft spoken as Timothy.
is that why I love #43?...hmmm I never thought of that!

Re: Little things that remind you of the Eagles
The radio is playing Make You Feel My Love by Bob Dylan---I'm sure you know who I'm thinking of when I hear that song--- and I like that person's version better.

Re: Little things that remind you of the Eagles
Okay Willie and zelda - I would have to agree with both of you by like 200%.

Re: Little things that remind you of the Eagles
having a get together today with a few girls...one of them was talking about some family squabble...and she kept saying..."I kept telling her to walk away...walk away...just walk away when that happens"....she kept repeating it...and I was crackin' up and smiling...the whole time 'cause she just kept saying to "walk away"....she must have said it ten times in five minutes....so what song do I have in my head?....

It's such a high energy song. It makes you want to move! Everytime I go to an Eagles show and they start playing WA, I always think, "Okay, here we go!"

Re: Little things that remind you of the Eagles

Re: Little things that remind you of the Eagles
That phrase gets used a lot in the media, doesn't it? I wonder if you randomly asked, say, 100 people what band did that song, how many would know?
-
Re: Little things that remind you of the Eagles
Good question, PM. I do think that a lot of the baby boomers that were around in the 70's do associate the song with the band. But, I wonder how many folks under 40 would know (Border members excluded, of course)?

Re: Little things that remind you of the Eagles
I had assumed it was a phrase that had "always been around". :brickwall:

Re: Little things that remind you of the Eagles
Inless you are an eagles fan...I dont think the newer generation would know the the term"life int he fast lane"
-
Re: Little things that remind you of the Eagles
I think they would know it. They just wouldn't necessarily associate it with the Eagles. I have a Brewer's Dictionary of Modern Phrase & Fables which state the phrase was 'coined in 1976' but doesn't give its actual origin.

Re: Little things that remind you of the Eagles
I was amazing my Grandad this morning with the wonders of Google Street View (!) and he asked me to find their old house in Oxford, which I did. As I was navigating it, I saw that their road led into Henley Street. I smiled but remained silent. He wouldn't get it. ;)
-
Re: Little things that remind you of the Eagles
I want to live on Henley Street! lol

Henley St. is the main drag near UT's campus in Knoxville...I always used to giggle at the name when I was younger, though

You should ask them, "Does that mean anything Eagles-related I charged to that card would be interest free?..." :nahnah:
