Wow EK...you got a great one...he does get it!
He's a keeper EK!
I remember my hubby this day 2 years ago saying to me 'Oh, do you know whose birthday I heard it was on the radio today.......?'
eh Duh!!:brickwall:
EK, he is definitely a winner!
I could never date anyone who wasn't an Eagles fan...it's a deal breaker!
yep , he"s a keeper. Like JAHH he gets it...
I THINK IT SHOULD be a national holiday..a day to honor GF and the man who heloed to create the sound track of may of our lives.
HAppy bday glenn
Watching the local weather during lunch the weatherman mentioned the nor'easter getting ready to hit the east coast and commented that he felt sorry for everyone out there and it was like the Don Henley song "kick 'em when they're up, kick 'em when they down, kick 'em all around".
wow Brooke that is too much...can't believe he said that...awesome!...(not the storm obviously)...but the Henley mention ...very cool
I know! I was impressed and will be watching that station more often!
Watching ESPN's Around the Horn on mute due a phone call. Yesterday's 49ers and Rams game ended in a tie, and I guess they were discussing that on the show, but the screen says 'THOUGHTS ON TIE?' I see that and think 'Take It Easy', which of course makes me think of the Eagles.
lol! I do that too whenever I see acronyms that reflect our guys. For instance, when people use "DH" to signify "Dear Hubby" I immediately read it as "Don Henley."
Last night I had the weather on the tv in the kitchen while tidying up after supper. Hubby was helping me and the weatherman mentioned that it had been a dark, cold, blustery day and hubby said that that reminded him of Glenn. I was like 'huh?' And he said that comment reminded him of Glenn's song Somebody. I told him I was impressed!
its bad cause I get it all..lol and someothers just look at you with a blank stare nwhen you mention anything ealges related
Dunno if this fits 100%, but this happened in class today...the lecture was on human population trends & I was showing a slide of Rwandan population...
Me: "There was a movie about that war, Hotel Rwanda."
Student: "Hotel California?"
Me: "No, Hotel Rwanda. Not a lovely place."
Last night on the Blake Shelton Christmas special Blake and Kelly Clarkson sang a Christmas song with the line " "there's a new kid in town" here in Bethlehem."
You know who I thought of!
Just got an email from the Lefsetz Letter listserv entitled "DHH" and I immediately thought "Donald Hugh Henley."
I almost forgot to post this - this is the cover of Air Tran's November in flight magazine:

Very cool!! Isn't it amazing how even companies, people doing advertising, etc. think of the Eagles also?
Love it!
Not sure this belongs here, but I'll share it anyway. I had a doctor's appointment for a routine physical on Monday and I wore my After Hours tee shirt that has Glenn's name across the front. I noticed the doctor staring at me, which I thought was very odd to say the least. Then he said "Is that the Glenn Frey in the Eagles?" I said "Oh - it sure is. I'm very impressed that you know him. I guess I picked a very good doctor." He replied slyly "Oh - is that what it means, I thought it just meant that I'm old!" At that point, I didn't know whether to hug him or hit him.
Too funny, dreamer!
That's pretty funny Dreamer...Are the only people that know of the Eagles OLD??? I don't think so, but then again, I'm old too!
too cute dreamer.......
I'll take an eagles fan any which way we can get one....
I might have put this elsewhere but when I was in Florida wearing my T-shirt before the Clearwater show, the lady selling me cookies asked about it. I told her Glenn was playing in town that very night and she was bummed that she had to work until 9:00. T-shirts spread the love. ;)
They do indeed Soda! When FP and I were in Niagara Falls one of the shop assistants in the souvenir place commented on my t-shirt, asking me 'Is That Glenn  Frey..... is he playing here?'!
Yesteday Troub texted me that 'The heat is On' is being used as a commercial for Tesco UK (Retail Grocery Mulltiple). Sure enough I caught it earlier, and just as I type this the ad has come on again.:thumbsup:
I just started going to a new church...guess what street it's on?...Eagle St.
One of my daughter's Christmas presents was a beautiful t-shirt printed with
"Take it Easy"
Apparently when she and her Daddy were alone he asked her if I was jealous of it... she said "probably a little bit". :nahnah::hilarious:
I passed a sign in town yesterday advertising a show home in Henley Drive. Sounds good to me!
I've just arrived home and in the taxi from the station, Tears for Fears' 'Everybody Wants to Rule the World' was playing on the radio. It reminded me of the first time I went to the States, met Jess, and we saw Don at Downstream Casino Resort. That was my first time ever seeing Don live and it was absolutely magical. It was an outdoor show, the sky was vast and beautiful, and I had to pinch myself several times to make sure it was real! He covered this song and sounded absolutely gorgeous. It's something I'll never forget.
omg he did it when we saw hime at the borgata and I love love love his version and wish he would record it.
I went to a show a few years ago where he did it. Better than the original IMHO.
aah yeah...I agree....
he blew my mind when I saw him do it...he really should record it..
Yes, I would love a recorded version of it! He sounded great singing it.
I agree he definitely should record Everybody Wants To Rule the World. He does a fantastic job with the song. I hope he includes it at the Revel show next week.
Came across this ad in a gas station earlier

The ABC Show By the name of Last Resort reminded me of The Eagles song of the same name :hilarious:
