Eagles Mentions in the Press (2006 - 2017)

Hubby just went to the post office and we received our January issue of Goldmine magazine. It's the top 10 issue. I of course immediately saw the Hotel California album cover on the issue cover and noticed across the top it said "Queen/Everly Brothers/Simon & Garfunkel/Eagles". Just flipping through, so far I've seen mention several times and there is an article on page 48-49 titled "Eagles-The Story Behind One Of Rock's Most Iconic Covers-Hotel California". It shows it's ranked #4 on their top 10 Best Albums behind Dark Side of The Moon, Abbey Road & Sgt. Pepper. I haven't read the article yet. Includes a picture of HC and a pic of Glenn, Don, Joe, Randy and Don F.

Also see mention that they made #6 in their Best Group category, behind Beatles, Rolling Stones, Queen, Pink Floyd and The Beach Boys.

The comments about Glenn were .... interesting.... but what a shame the guy had to remind us that it's 'not the Miami Vice guy hyping gyms'. There is more to Glenn than that.

I also enjoyed the comments following the article.

I enjoyed the complimentary comments, but not the insulting ones. I don't know why some people always feel the need to get their digs in.

Probably because some people are just hateful, mean-spirited people who seem to enjoy spreading negativity and trying to bring other people down. The truth is all they really succeed in doing is bringing themselves down. Too bad they can't figure out how to extract joy out of life instead of misery, but as my mom used to say - we can't fix everybody.

I like all the comments. It's nice to hear what people really think, from the giddy fan girl crushing to the negative. Even though I don't agree with some of the Frey hostility they are not posting on a message board with rules against such a thing.

Goes to show that not everybody thinks the same and some aren't afraid to voice their opinion even if it is negative. Freedom of speech and all that. :laugh: Guess you can't please all of the people all of the time. :dizzy:
