All right, we managed to save LBG for another round! Well done! :yay:
These last three are going to require some more thought and listening! Oh the pain!
Aw, MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now that my favorite is gone, so is my emotional investment. No more forming coalitions for me!
So I cast my vote for Rocky Mountain Way.
I l love Life's Been Good. We sang it last night as part of our little band's set list and everyone sang along at the top of their lungs. I am holding out hope that it will win!
I vote for Rocky Mountain Way.
I cast my vote for Rocky Mountain Way
I again cast my vote for Life's Been Good. It doesn't have the swagger or bluesy feel that RMW has.
Has anyone noticed that the opening riff of LBG is very similar to The Heat is On? Ten notes in each - very similar tune, though of course LBG is played on guitar and THIO on sax.
Too bad I missed this game. I can't let my fave Life's Been Good go down though.
I vote for Rocky Mountain Way!
It just doesnt seem like its worth while now, but I guess I'll cast my vote for Lifes Been Good
It's a great song, they all are... were... but the others are better..
sorry...
I vote for Life's Been Good.
Life's Been Good once again gets the vote from me.
Okay - it's shaping up to be another close round. It's time to form another coalition. All of these remaining song's are awesome and deserving to win this game. But, IMHO, Life's Been Good stands out above the others because it is probably the most clever and intelligent satirical statement about the life of a 70's rock star that has ever been written. Underneath the humor, there is so much truth in the story.
I cast my vote for Rocky Mountain Way.
Save Life's Been Good.
Vote for Rocky Mountain Way!!!
I'm going to mix it up a bit and vote for Funk #49 I really don't know why either.
My vote for elimination goes to Rocky Mountain Way this round...
I also cast my vote for Rocky Mountain Way.

Oh yeah, since there is no more immunity I guess I can let you in on my secret for success in answering the questions - JoeWalshOnline! I didn't know any of those answers - I just looked 'em up!
Well I'm extremely late to the game....but I vote for Rocky Mountain Way anyway :nahnah:
The thirteenth song to be voted off the island in Joe’s Joe Walsh’s Greatest Hits: Little Did He Know (aka The Definitive Collection) Survivor is Rocky Mountain Way. Rocky Mountain Way, I’m afraid you’re out to pasture. Please leave immediately. The remaining two songs may step forward for our final round.

Alright! We’re at the last round. This round is special, so it’s done differently. We’re not going to vote for the song we want to go. We’re going to vote for the song we want to win. This is how they do it on the real show, after all. Once again...
Vote for the song you want to win.
Voting for the final round begins now!
I vote for Funk #49 for the win!
Lyrically I love Life's Been Good....but it can get a bit long for me. I LOVE Funk 49's beat and all the guitar solo's and I love Tim's bass line.
Well, they're both great songs but I think the lyrics of LBG are so clever that I'll vote for it over Funk #49. I forgive it for pushing out my fave HMTTN. ;)
I vote for
LIFE'S BEEN GOOD
for the win!!!!!!!!!
I cast my vote for Funk #49 to go all the way!
I vote for
Life's Been Good
Funk 49
I vote for LIFE'S BEEN GOOD!
I vote for Life's Been Good!
I vote for Life's Been Good. But love them both!
FUNK 49!
Oh dear...two great songs...uhmm...
I vote for.....
LIFES BEEN GOOD!
sorry for Funk#49, I've got something more with Lifes Been Good
I vote for both songs-but since I'm sure someone will say that it's illegal,
I vote for Life's Been Good
I don't feel right for voting for either of them since I haven't been in this contest. Both are signature songs.
But if I had my druthers, I'd druther see
"Smoke On The Water"
win the contest (inside joke). Joe said he used to have people asking him to play his "Hit" "Smoke On the Water". I think it might have been long after Joe left the James Gang for his solo endeavors and was probably after Bolin left the Gang for Deep Purple. I think I recall Joe saying that he'd play "Smoke" if they paid him enough. <LOL>
Feel free to cast a vote anyway, Mike. You don't have to have played all the rounds to participate. I'm interested to see your verdict!
(lol at the "smoke" story)
In that case, I'd have to vote "Funk #49" to take it all. I like LBG but of the two, Funk is a more complex instrumental piece showing Joe's mastery of the guitar. That opening riff has to be one of the most recognizable licks of all times! It's right there with the Spanish arpeggio in Hotel California or that minor "Apache" opening riff in Witchy Woman.
LBG has some very pertinent lyrics but, I don't consider it the best work he's done though it probably is more popular to the general public, expecially after all the things he's done with in in concerts over the past 8 or 10 years.
Had I been involved in this earlier, I'd have gone with what I think is Joe's opus: "The Confessor" or maybe "The Bomber." That song (Confessor) has more deep rooted meaning than any other that he had composed and in addition, has some ungodly guitar work.
This is very hard. I love both songs. However I can't help but feel that Funk #49 has lasted a bit better and has wider appeal. (Mike, as you seem so knowledgeable about Joe's songs, could you explain the title? Or anyone?)
I vote for Funk #49 to win.
Sure, I can explain it. Very simple. They already had "Funk #48". It was released on "Yer Album" <LOL>
Joe joked that if he had stayed with the James Gang, they would probably be up to Funk #2973 or something like that by now.
With the state of Joe's mind back in the late 60's and 70's....well, you'd have had to be there to understand it. Remember "Smoker You Drink, the Player You Get?" It made perfect sense to me at the time, but for the life of me now, I can't understand it! I recall it having something to do with the fragrance of Purple.
I have to vote for Life's Been Good for the win... simply because its a fun song and I have always appreciated its irony and sense of humor.
I'm voting Funk #49 to win. Between it and LBG I would have to say that it appeals to me more-I find it more interesting musically.
Sorry I've missed the last couple of rounds. Although Funk#49 may be more interesting musically, Life's Been Good is such a keynote song for Joe and the Eagles, especially on the Live album, that I have to cast my vote for Life's Been Good for the win!!!
Oh crap - can someone help me out here. I can't remember which song I wanted to vote for. Guess I'll have to flip a coin!
Well - here it is...
I cast my vote for Life's Been Good for the win!
And the winner of Joe Walsh’s Greatest Hits: Little Did He Know (aka The Definitive Collection) Survivor is...........
