I actually visited the museum for that in Coffeyville for no other reason than the Eagles wrote a song about it! Fascinating stuff.

In the big city near where I live, there is an apartment complex called Eagle terrace.
Yesterday, I was at my uncle's house. He has several cats that are indoor/outdoor cats. One of them was inside and went to the back door. My uncle looked at the cat and said "you're not gone already are you?" I couldn't resist singing "cause I'm already gone" very badly offkey.

Earlier today, I was listening to some Def Leppard(the band of my early teenage years). Pour Some Sugar on Me came on and I immediately thought of Glenn, which led to some other thoughts that shouldn't be posted on here! :help:. That song now has a completely new meaning to me!
Apparently, there's a local company(at least I think it's local) called Poco, so I automatically thought of Randy and Timothy. I must have ridden by it a thousand times before and I just now oaid attention to the name!
I just saw an episode of Jeopardy that used Glenn Frey and "Smugglers' Blues" as the question and answer.:partytime:
Very cool LT!
I was scrolling through my Facebook news feed before bed just a few minutes ago, and I see an article about Tim Tebow being cut from The Philadelphia Eagles. This is one of the comments on the article:
"He got cut by The Eagles??? Didn't know he joined the band."
The 2 replies on the comment:
"I thought with the Eagles, you can check out any time you like but you can never leave ...?"
And
"Even Don Henley gave up on him after a while."
I had a very hearty laugh at that. :hilarious:
I was watching a program on the WC called "Strangest Weather on Earth" and thought of Glenn's solo album of almost the same title.
One of my own family members reminded me of an Eagles song. One of my great uncle(my great aunt's husband) has always been very special to me. Since I was little, there's always been this special bond between us, despite only seeing each other once or twice a year. Because he's technically an "in-law" of the family, I jokingly call him the Outlaw. When I did this at the reunion, I immediately thought of the song Outlaw Man.
I'm reading James Patterson's book Unlucky 13. In it, there's a lawyer named Louis Frye. I'm wanting to change the spelling, and I'm picturing Glenn! :help:. Lol
AG, speaking of the name "Frye," I think about Glenn every time I wear Frye boots. I own several pairs - they're very comfortable - not to mention the company has a long history.
I didn't even think of Glenn's middle name being the same as the character's first name , just spelled differently again. I wonder if Mr. Patterson is an Eagles fan, then?
Glenn Lewis Frey, the lawyer. That has a nice ring to, doesn't it? :hilarious:
:hmm: I dunno about that. I think I prefer Glenn Lewis Frey, singer, songwriter!
Earlier at Walmart, in the parking lot, there was a crow on the light pole, and it starting crowing. The song Somebody instantly started playing in my head.
A friend sent me 5 vinyl records as a birthday gift. One of them is Foghat's Fool for the City album, which has the song Slow Ride on it. The chorus of the song is "Slow ride, take it easy"(it's repeated about a dozen times in the song). Guess what song popped into my head? :D
:headscratch: Can't come up with it, AG! :hilarious:
Ok, this is kind of pathetic.
I'm reading the book Supreme Justice by Philip Margolin. In it, there's talk of hiring a private eye (private detective). The private eye states that she turns down matrimonial work. As soon as I read that, I thought of South of Sunset, and the episode where Glenn (Cody) says "I hate this matrimonial work".
Yeah AG - I had a lame one too the other day when someone at work mentioned driving down a two-way street. I so wanted to asked if they were driving down the center, but I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have gotten it.
I doubt that they would have, Dreamer.
This is a direct reminder.
I'm watching Ghostbusters 2, and I just got to the part where all of the ghosts take over NYC, and the Titanic arrives. Guess what song plays throughout the scenes? Flip City! (Co-written and sung by Glenn). I've watched the movie at least a dozen times, and I always liked the music played during those scenes. Tonight's viewing was the first time I've watched it since I became a hardcore Glenn Frey fan.(I knew that Glenn had a song on the soundtrack, but I didn't know where it was in the movie) My love for this movie has grown even more. (Yes, I like the song alot)
The title of the sermon for tomorrow's church service - Life in the Fast Lane or Right Path?
That's too funny, GL. Tell 'em some of your Border friends believe it's possible to do both - after all, they can be one in the same, can't they?
That's true, Dreamer! Our minister saw HotE a few months ago. He knew I was a big Eagles fan & started telling me the LITFL story & he sounded as if he was amused by it (which actually surprised me). Of course I told him that I had the HotE video so I knew the story well.
I was watching an episode of "Mysteries at the Museum" last night on... I believe it was the Travel Channel. They covered the story of the Dalton gang's demise in Coffeyville. On that fateful day in 1892, the outlaws decided to rob two banks at the same time. Apparently it wasn't law enforcement who gunned the baddies down, it was enraged townspeople - after all, that was *their* money in the banks. The citizen militia killed all but one of the Dalton gang. The fella who survived, Emmett Dalton, got life in prison.
Yep - The Dalton gang is a very interesting story. It's easy to see why our guys were so intrigued.
Received a promo email this morning from L.L. Bean about a sale on women's henley shirts. It reminded me of one of the fashion staples of Mr. Henley's wardrobe, not to mention his surname.
I'm off work sick and watching 'Little House on the Prairie'. Charles just said 'I know when he will sell you the crop..... when Hell Freezes Over!'
What's the name of that episode GA? I'm going to keep an eye out for it because I watch Little House almost every weekday. (It comes on 2 different channels in the afternoon). I don't remember hearing that since I started watching the show a few years ago.
Yes, feel better soon, GA!
Hope your back to normal today, Ga!
On the WC this morning, the fire chief of Eagle Pass FD in southern TX was talking about rescue operations for victims of flash floods.
GA, I hope you're feeling better today!
Last night, I was in the kitchen getting something to drink when I heard the Geico commercial with Kenny Rogers playing. I immediately thought of HOTE, and Kenny taking Shiloh to LA.
GA, hope you're feeling better today.
Yep - Hope you feel better, GA.
At work yesterday, a few of my co-workers were chatting and one of them said something about 'kick 'em when they're up'. Of course, I chimed in 'with 'em when they're down'. And she said 'Who said that?' Of course, I was able to provide the answer.
