If I could trade places for a day with anyone, it would be for sure a rock star of some kind. In the day, I would have said, "Let me trade places with Glenn Frey or Don Henley of the Eagles."
Re: Eagles Mentions in the Press
Well - I don't necessarily want to trade places with Don or Glenn, but I sure would like to share spaces with them.
Re: Eagles Mentions in the Press
The Arizona Republic had an article about Winslow with a picture of the corner of Kinsley Ave and Second Street. It said "The tour of Winslow included the Standin' on the Corner Park, a homeage to the Eagles 1973 hit song "Take It Easy" which references the town's intersection of Kinsley Ave and Second St" There is even a web site standinonthecorner.com
Re: Eagles Mentions in the Press
"Take It Easy" is the best thing that ever happened to that town!
Re: Eagles Mentions in the Press
I'm surprised that Irving hasn't hit them up for a piece of the wealth.:hilarious:
Re: Eagles Mentions in the Press
And apparently they somehow know exactly which corner is referred to in the song, since the article claims it is specifically "intersection of Kinsley Ave and Second Street." Did someone see Jackson Browne standing there in 1971? lol
Re: Eagles Mentions in the Press
I wonder if as many people have their pictures taken there as the intersection where the Beatles had their picture taken crossing the street.
Re: Eagles Mentions in the Press
Well, maybe not quite as many... Winslow's a little out of the way!
And I just saw this cute mention of the Eagles by Kid Rock, a native of Detroit like Glenn...

"Huge fan," Rock replied. "(Eagles member) Glenn Frey was Bob Seger's protege and he's singing background (vocals) on (Seger's 1968 Top 40 hit) 'Ramblin' Gamblin Man.' Glenn attended the same high school as my grandfather."

The new Goldmine magazine (Sept 2011) has a Live Albums article that mentions Eagles Live, tho not favorably I'm afraid.
